FOURTEEN
Before I knew it, the month was up and in only two days, Hoseok and I would be on our way to Seoul.
I was definitely starting to get nervous but excited nonetheless.
Things between Hoseok and I this past month had been weird to say the least.
I couldn't tell if he was just being friendly or if he still hadn't lost the feelings for me. Either way, there was definitely something odd happening between us.
Something that was not at all friendly.
"Are you excited to go?! I'm gonna miss you." Ari groans as she throws her arms around me, squeezing the air out of me.
"Of course I'm excited! I'll call you everyday." I say but Ari scoffs. "No you won't."
I laughed at that. "You're right, I probably won't."
As Ari and I continued to talk about what it would be like, I couldn't help but to feel a bit nervous.
After all, we'd be staying at Hoseok's families house. He told me we could stay with one of his friends instead but ultimately I said he didn't have to do that just for me.
So we'd be staying with his parents and I just hoped they were nice and weren't uncomfortable with a stranger in their home.
Aside from that, I was looking forward to going.
Hoseok said there was a lot of places he wanted to show me and that we'd have lots of fun.
"I wish I could come with you. Guess he likes you better." Ari says and I couldn't help but to think; 'He sure does!'
I wondered if his friends back home new he liked me. I guess if he had moved on already they'd also know that too.
I didn't want to ask because I didn't want to make it weird so I was just going with the flow. Honestly, whatever happens happens.
Like I said, when Hoseok had confessed I only reacted how I did because I got nervous. It's not like I didn't not like Hoseok but I wasn't sure I did the way he liked me. Not yet anyway.
Hell, it wasn't the worst thing in the world to like Hoseok. He is really kind and sweet and I like that.
So yeah, whatever happens, happens.
...
Finally, the day was here. Hoseok and I had said our goodbyes and were currently waiting in the airport for our flight.
"Have you ever flown before?" Hoseok asks as we wait.
"I have once before it definitely wasn't this far." I laugh and Hoseok nods. "Well don't worry, it'll go by fast if you sleep." He laughs.
"That's definitely the plan. The time zone is different so it'll definitely be an adjustment." I say, already feeling tired from having gotten up so early.
"Yeah but I'll make it worth it, I promise! We'll go to lots of cool places. After you rest up of course." He smiles.
We continue to make small talk until it's finally time for us to board the plane.
After we get seated and situated, the plane takes off. For a little while we make conversation until I start to notice Hoseok dozing off.
I was super tired too so that would be me anytime now.
"I'm just gonna sleep for a little...okay." He says, his voice quiet as his head began to wobble a bit.
Before I could even respond, his head fell onto my shoulder effortlessly.
It didn't take long to realize he had fallen asleep. I laugh a little, not minding at all.
Knowing I wanted to sleep too, I leaned my head down on top of Hoseok's, allowing my eyes to fall shut.
-
I had slept for a few hours, woke up, fell back asleep, and then woke up again just as we were about to land.
As I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, I glanced over at Hoseok who was wide awake.
When he sees me up, he smiles. "Perfect timing. How'd you sleep?" He asks.
"As good as you can in these uncomfortable seats." I laugh as I sit up straight, a slight pain in my lower back.
I was definitely looking forward to stretching more then anything else right now.
"What time is it?" I ask, knowing my phone was on the wrong time.
"Almost 11am." He says as he clicks on his phone, already having changed the time. Unless he already had it that way, I didn't know.
"Does your family know we're about to land?" I ask and right away I know Hoseok can tell I'm a bit nervous.
"Of course, my mother is already at the airport to get us so don't worry, it'll be okay." He says and I nod slowly as I offer a small smile.
Finally, the plane lands and everyone begins to exit off.
We grab our luggage and I follow behind Hoseok, letting him guide the way.
Looking around, I couldn't read anything. It was a little intimidating but I knew as long as I was by Hoseok it wouldn't be a problem.
"Hoseok!" I hear a voice say in excitement when suddenly a woman, who I could only assume to be his mother, pulls him into a tight hug.
Hoseok hugs her back just as tightly while I stand there, looking around as people rushed by.
When they pulled away Hoseok turned to me with a smile before he began to speak in Korean.
I watched as his mother smiled then turned to face me. Then in somewhat broken English she says; "I'm so glad to meet you, y/n!"
I smile as I offer back the same words. Hoseok then ushers us both into the car.
The two of them start to talk back and forth, Hoseok occasionally filling me in on what they were saying so I didn't feel so left out.
The remainder of the car ride, I let my gaze fall out the window as I watched the scenery pass us by.
Already it was so beautiful here. It was very different from America and I was excited.
This was going to be a fun time!
