"Daisy, give me my cell phone," Luigi ordered.

"Wait a minute, I'm almost done," replied the girl lying on her friend's bed.

"Could you at least tell me what you are doing?"

"Nothing very important," she looked at him. "I'm done," gave it to him.

"Thanks," he huffed as he checked it out. He felt how his soul left his body when he saw his recent conversations "What did you do!" he yelled at her.

"Nothing," she laughed.

"You asked Bowie out!"

"Hey, if I didn't take the first step, you weren't going to. Besides, you said you were interested in seeing him again."

"And also that I didn't want him to misunderstand the situation."

"Relax, Lou. He hasn't seen it yet, you can delete it."

The brown-haired man looked at the phone with trembling hands. "I can't delete it now, then he could ask me what happened or something like that," he stammered.

"Is that it or do you want to go out with him?" she gave him a quizzical look.

"Well, a meal doesn't sound bad," he admitted, "BUT AS FRIENDS!" he hastened to clarify.

Daisy rushed to hug him "That's enough for me. My little Lu is already learning to be braver" she squeezed him "I feel so proud" the girl pretended to wipe away a tear.

"Stop exaggerating" he broke off with a laugh "Go change, we have a sports class."

"It seems you don't know me, my friend," she began to undress.

"Daisy, we talked about this before," Luigi said as he looked away.

"There's nothing you haven't already seen in the wardrobe fittings" she took off her skirt, revealing that she had the sports uniform shorts already on since morning. It was the same case with the shirt, as it was a garment fitted to the body, it did not get in the way when she had the button-down one and the formal jacket on top. She put everything in a backpack and pulled out a white skirt to put over the shorts. "I'm ready," she modeled.

The boy rolled his eyes and went to open the door for her. As was the custom, they both walked together to their classroom; this time being simulation chamber number three. The number of these highlighted the importance of the franchise; Mario was only beaten by Pokemon and Minecraft.

Upon entering, they were the only ones missing to start. It was clear to them that that class would be for the next sports game.

On the left side they could see the toads learning new batons to support the different playable characters. In front of them were the koopalings, minus Wendy, fighting over a basketball.

They met their friends at the tennis court.

"Finally!" Mario blurted out "What took you so long?"

"Sorry, we entertained ourselves talking" said Luigi.

"Don't worry, we were minding our own business too, right, Mario?" Peach laughed as she caressed his boyfriend's chin.

The older one took her by the waist and gave her a quick kiss.

"Giu," Daisy spat, "Are we going to play or not?"

"Don't be impatient" Miyamoto appeared with a smile "Do you already have teams?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Mario smiled "Duel of couples."

"Sounds good," the teacher spoke "Well, you know the rules. Toad will be the referee.

They all nodded and went to their respective side of the court.

"Hey, don't you think Bowser is weird today?" Peach asked Mario.

"What are you talking about?" He arched an eyebrow.

"I don't know, since morning I see him as gone" She grabbed a ball and threw it at him.

The brunette looked at him out of the corner of his eye, he was sitting on the bench with Yoshi.

"Who cares? As long as he doesn't get in the way, everything is fine " he took the ball "Focus on the game, honey, I have outstanding debts with Daisy."

She served the ball.

The game started completely normal; it was a friendly thing, so there wasn't a lot of aggressiveness from either side.

We'd like to say that each participant's concentration was at their maximum capacity, but it was easy to tell that Luigi's mind was elsewhere, which gave him a clear disadvantage.

"Are you okay?" Daisy asked.

"And if he doesn't answer?"

"Aww, do you worry about that?"

"Isn't that what you think?" he hit the ball. "I just thought it would be nice to have him as a friend."

"Don't worry, I'm sure he'll accept."

"If not? It would be humiliating."

"If he doesn't, you just get over it, move on with your life, and try it with someone else. Be careful, they will hit you."

Luigi let out a yell as he dodged.

"POINT!" celebrated the rival couple.

"I'm not in the mood for this," the youngest admitted.

The brunette made the most tender smile possible and caressed his friend's cheek.

"Lu, you are handsome, smart, kind, you are what anyone would like to have as a friend. Relax" she said before going for the ball "If you want, check your cell phone, I'll cover you" she winked.

The boy smiled and stood next to her.

"He can wait."

However, those were false words, because after a few minutes, Luigi kept checking his cell phone waiting for some notification from the mysterious boy. But nothing ever came.

"TIME!" Daisy suddenly asked, "I want a partner change."

"What?" Luigi looked at her.

"Lu, you're getting depressed by this thing" she pointed to the device "Better sit down for a while and process your feelings well or you're going to end up getting hit by the ball" she took him by the shoulders "YOSHI! Will you play with me please?"

The older one sighed and walked without much interest to the bench. He was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he didn't even notice Bowser next to him.

"I bet three bucks he'll scream when he finds out," Peach said.

"I bet seven that he hits him," Mario laughed.

"Well, I put fifteen that he just turns white and leaves without saying anything," Daisy added.

The three nodded and continued with the game.

For his part, the koopa felt his body tense as the boy stepped up beside him. With a single glance he could tell that he was chatting with Bowie. He was surprised and for a moment he thought that perhaps, if with the crown he had managed to have a connection with him, he could also without it.

He stayed for a few minutes analyzing how he could start a conversation without it looking weird. Although, to be honest, in any situation it would look strange.

Luckily, or unfortunately, it didn't take long for him to receive help from fate to be able to talk to him; because the bettors had tired of waiting and decided to force Luigi to realize who was next to him.

"Lu, could you be a sweetheart and pass me a bottle of water?" Peach asked.

The brunette reacted, as if he had finally come out of a trance caused by his cell phone.

"Here," Bowser brought him a bottle.

"Oh, thanks...

He saw it; he felt goosebumps rise on his skin. For Luigi, it was not necessary to see himself, he knew exactly what he looked like: smaller pupils, whiter skin than normal and trembling lips. At times like these, his brain wasn't conscious enough to control his body; then he just got up and left the place.

"Ha! You owe me fifteen," Daisy scoffed.

The koopa couldn't react for a few seconds either, but this changed when he felt his eyes water. He shook his head and was able to hold back the tear that wanted to escape from his left eye.

"Since I won, I don't owe you anything," Mario told the chestnut girl.

"Of course you do!" she hurried to collect his things.

"Hey, do you know what Luigi has? I saw him a little sad" Peach asked.

"Oh, it's just that he's waiting for a message," he replied, thus catching Bowser's attention.

"Whose?" Mario raised an eyebrow.

"Nothing important" she lied "Don't worry, Mario, it's not something that's going to affect you."

"And my brother?" he crossed his arms.

She rolled his eyes "You overprotect him too much, relax already" she pulled them towards the entrance "If you won't give me my fifteen dollars, at least buy me dinner."

"That will cost us more."

"Boo, you noticed" the girl huffed.

"Obviously! I'm not an idiot."

Their voices were drowning out as they moved away from the classroom.

"Bowser!" Larry ran up to him. "I won all the games," he said excitedly to his cousin.

"Oh really? Amazing " he forced a smile.

"What's for dinner?" Lemmy asked.

"I want meat," Wendy said.

The voices of his cousins and his brother were so strong that they soon mixed with his thoughts, causing him a horrible headache.

There was something that became very clear to him at that moment, he was already tired of feeling alone.
