Chapter Seven: More Information
After getting away from the estranged doctor, I began my overall search of the building. This time I left the mansion and did a perimeter search of the area. Using my tracking ability found in one of my left eye, I searched the area until I came across a tool shed, or at least I thought it was a tool shed, then started making my way over to it. The shed was old and looked like it was going to collapse, but I wondered what that witch would have been hiding in there. Aside from the rotting wood, I noticed the door was fairly new. My suspicions drew me nearer. Once I got to the door, I tried to open it but the door wouldn't budge. I grumbled and backed away before running at the door and using my shoulder; I attempted to break it down, but I flinched and bounced back the minute I hit it. The door was solid and I couldn't even break the stupid thing down.
"You have got to be kidding me. There has to be some way to get in there." I said to myself. Of course, the minute I turned around, I stumbled. Standing before me was another creepy doll, only this one barely had any hair and one of its eyes was missing. The other one was reportedly closed. It had tattered clothes and even a knife in its hand.
"How about we play a game?" the doll said. "You hide, and I'll find you. If I find you first, then I will hurt you, but if you can find my weakness, I'll let you pass." At first, I didn't quite know what the doll was talking about. I knew it was going to be a game of hide and seek, but it was worse. It was hide and seek with a weapon. My system picked it up and revealed what type of game it was. One Man Hide and Seek. But that was impossible. Last I checked, I never did the ritual, let alone put a piece of my DNA into its body. "You better hide big boy or you won't get the key to the toolshed." it laughed a high-pitched laugh until I saw around it's neck a key. My stomach dropped. We were indeed going to play hide and seek, and if my hunch was correct, then the key was important. Without arguing, I took off into the house and searched for a place to hide. As I looked, my eyes landed on a closet where I ran for it and entered. I closed the doors, engulfing myself into darkness. However, I felt something cool touch my shoulder. Pulling out my phone, I turned on the light briefly and swung the light toward my shoulder. The minute I did, I saw what seemed to be a medallion and on the front of it there were symbols of snakes and a staff with lines come out from it.
I had little time to look into the medallion more. I quickly put it in my pocket and turned off the light, and in the nick of time too. I could hear heavy footsteps in the house and the scraping of steel on the floor. I covered my mouth, hoping that my breathing did not lure that thing to me.
"Where are you, pretty boy?" the doll said creepily. "I know your hear, it would be great for you to come out." I struggled to think about how I'd have to deal with a possessed doll. Suddenly a thought occurred to me, if I was stuck playing one man hide and seek, then salt water would be the only way to waste this possessed doll. I just needed to get into the kitchen and search for salt. I just hoped that maybe this thing, or the witch hadn't gotten rid of any salt. I waited until I could no longer hear the doll before getting out and racing for the kitchen. The sound of scraping and feet taping on the floor faded away, and it gave me the chance to take off. I opened the closet carefully and took off toward the kitchen.

Getting to the kitchen was the easiest thing for me. Of course, searching for salt didn't really help. There were a few times when I swore I heard the doll's small feet tapping on the floor and it caused me to duck in cover, fearing the worst. I know I shouldn't be afraid since I was genetically enhanced, but going up against a small doll that resembled a person wasn't on my contract. I didn't even want to be here long; I thought it would have been easier to come here arrest the witch bitch then leave, hoping for answers on my brother. But so far all I've found was a soulless dickbag and some bird that was flying everywhere. I paused and waited thinking that I was safe; the sound got nearer and my heart started beating fast; I thought I was going to be discovered for sure, but thankfully nothing bad happened and the doll simply walked right by the kitchen.
"Where are you, sweetie?" the high-pitched voice said. "You know you can't hide forever, soon I'll find you and another piece of you will be trapped here." the voice faded and just in time too, I glanced at one of the lower shelves and saw a salt shaker. Thankful that nothing bad had happened so far, I grabbed the salt shaker, a glass from the cupboard, and a spoon. Nerves were getting to me and I didn't want that thing to find me or else I would most likely be wounded or, worse, dead. Grumbling to myself, I poured the salt into the water and began mixing it together. Salt water was probably the most important thing with spirits or demons. It was like acid to them. My abilities had told me to keep it on me or else things were going to get bad. Once I finished mixing it, I gripped the glass in my hands and with more bravery or possibly stupidity, I went through the house in search of the doll.
