Time. You hated the very word. Time didn't even seem to exist in this dimension, though you supposed that didn't stop every second from dragging by painfully, only making your time there that more agonising. Ha, there that word was again. Time.
If you really thought about it, the Prison Dimension wasn't even that bad. If you had something to compare it to, you probably would have had a different opinion, but your mind had become so scattered over the years. Sure, there was literally nothing interesting as far as you knew, nothing but endless dark skies and rocky terrain. The only reason you hated being there was quite obvious; The Krang. The beings who were trapped with you for however long you've been there for. You wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the universe no longer existed when you thought about how much time must have passed.
Sometimes to pass the time you wondered on what your past life must have been like and why you had been thrown into such a place to begin with. No matter how hard you tried to remember, you would get nothing but a pounding headache, which didn't mix well with the Krangs torture methods.
As far back as your memory could take you, the Krang had kept you company in the Prison Dimension, but you would prefer loneliness over their presence any day. There use to be more of them, more of them to try and pry out whatever it was they saw in you to help set them free. You told them, pleaded with them that you were useless. You were trapped there with them, if you could escape, you would have done it years ago! Despite your pleas, they never relented. Not even after their numbers dwindled down to three, the worst three out of the bunch.
They tried everything they could on you, torture, bargaining, your freedom. None of it worked, not even when they entered your broken mind to find the answers they so desperately sought out. They must have been that desperate that they kept you alive.
"Ah," You raised your head from its hanging position to weakly grin at Sister Krang, her tentacles twisting wildly in some form of excitement as she peers down at your fatigued frame, "I thought you forgot about me."
You licked at the blood pooling at your upper lip thanks to your bleeding nose, the metallic taste familiar on your tongue. Your arms have gone numb from hanging above your head for so long, held up by thick, pink veins that wrapped around your wrists and ankles tightly. Even when your body was in a kneeling position, your legs had still gone to jelly, pins and needles attacking your nerves.
"Silence." The alien hisses, though you note quickly that her tone wasn't as threatening as it usually was, and that thought set off alarm bells. They were never happy, so what had changed?
You watch silently as she tears away at your binds, your limbs almost feeling naked without them on. When your arms were set free, you instantly crumbled to the ground with a loud groan, eyes squinting shut in pain as you try and regain feeling in your limbs. Even if you wanted to run, you were stuck. Both thanks to your weak legs and the fact that there was nowhere to run to.
"Get up." Sister Krang doesn't hesitate to carelessly pick you up herself with two of her tentacles, just high enough for your feet to drag across the ground as the large alien hauls you over to her awaiting siblings, the sight of the two not making the feeling in your stomach any better. Something was wrong. Something was very wrong.
"It is almost time, I can feel it drawing closer." Leader Krangs words sent a shot of fear down your spine, your eyes wide as you tried to piece everything together. He couldn't be talking about escaping? Right? It was called the Prison Dimension for a reason, there was no escape!
There was no mistaking the excitement and thrill on the siblings faces, the way their weird bodies shifted as if on edge. It couldn't be happening. Swallowing the building saliva in your mouth, you crane your neck to shift your gaze between the three, "Don't- Don't I get in on the surprise?"
"Didn't I tell you to-" Sister Krang jostled you harshly, almost making you snap your neck before Leader Krang held a tentacle up, pausing her wild movements, which you thanked mentally.
"Leave her, sister. Where is the harm?" He grinned, baring sharp teeth in your direction as he slowly slithered closer until he was close enough to bite your head clean off if he wished. "We are finally being set free of this ghastly dimension, after thousands of years we will finally be free!"
You watched him take in your blank stare with amusement etched across his face, your blank stare drifting off towards the sky as it all hit you. You didn't understand. How? They had been tormenting you for years, years on end to help them escape, and now it was all for nothing? All the pain, the blood, the crying, it was for nothing? What were they even keeping you around for then? Why not dispose of your useless body while they could? They'd be doing all of you a favour.
The sound of sparks regains your attention, and only now did you notice the rapid beating of your heart. You hadn't felt this much fear in a while. The fear of the unknown.
"Yes, yes!" Sister Krang laughs, her body shuddering in delight all the while you stared with wide eyes at the portal opening in front of you, the force of it sending a harsh wind to whip your hair out of your eyes as a purple beam of light shoots up into the inky sky before disappearing.
Tentacles of different lengths and sizes slither past you all and head towards the portal, purple strikes of lightning flickering across the open space before you. Leader Krang was the first to move, his long limbs reaching out to the gateway as he pulls himself through it, leaving you alone with his siblings to wriggle around in horror. This only makes Sister Krang tighten her hold on you, a wheeze leaving your dry lips.
You didn't want to imagine who or what was on the other side, knowing that the Krang will overpower them easily. You could faintly hear movement on the other side of the portal, muffled but it was there and it didn't sound good.
You were about to sink your teeth into your captives limb as a last idea to free yourself when the voice of Leader Krang echoes from the other side of the gateway, "Brother, sister, join me. Time for us to finish remaking this universe in the image of Krang."
That was enough of an invitation to have the pair moving, which also meant that you were coming along for the ride, wether you wanted to or not. You weren't prepared to see what was on the other side, and a part of you would have preferred to stay in the Prison Dimension forever if it meant not witnessing the downfall of a helpless planet.
You squeeze your eyes shut as you pass through the portal, feeling the electricity in the air and the difference in the atmosphere almost immediately. It was like a breath of fresh air, literally. You only open your eyes when Sister Krang laughs, feeling her leap into the air with you still in her grasp as she lands besides her brother.
When she lands, you take a moment to try and take in your surroundings. It didn't look great, that was for certain, but the Krang was to blame for that. What took your main focus (despite you being light headed and out of it) was the people, living people. Beings other then gross, meaty Krang.
People dressed in all black with weird markings on their faces stared in shock or horror, or a mixture of both, at the sight of the aliens, their silence loud at their arrival. Were they the ones to release you? Were they that stupid?
As the Krang talked between each other, you tried to think up a plan to escape as quickly and easily as possible. It felt like an impossible mission with how tightly you were being squeezed, but you saw a glimmer of hope when Sister Krang threw you to the ground as she stretched her limps, "Oh, if you two don't mind, I haven't killed anything in ages."
Your small spark of hope was instantly crushed the second thick tentacles wrapped themselves around your body, keeping you locked to the ground as the smallest Krang sneers down at you, as if he had known you were going to try and do a runner.
"Oh, come on!" You cry out, slamming your fists against your confines as Sister Krang takes her leave to go on a murderous rampage, frustrated tears gathering in your eyes.
The sound of people fighting for their lives doesn't go unnoticed, and a part of you aches to call out for help when Little Krang slips off towards the portal, leaving you by yourself as debris start to fall around you as time passes.
With the Krang all busy, you decide that now was the time to act. With the little strength you have, you thrash around in the cocoon of tentacles, kicking and scratching against the tough skin, your cries getting louder as the seconds tick by that you aren't free.
The sound of sharp and spiky tentacles piercing the ground around you have you startled, were you caught? With ragged breathing, you lift your gaze to watch as the deathly tentacles come in contact with the ground further away from you, attacking someone that was stupidly approaching the gateway.
Suddenly, someone appears in your line of sight, someone who was running like their life depended on it, which wasn't wrong. They were like nothing you had ever seen before, though you don't remember much from before to begin with, but something told you that most people don't look like how they did. Green, stripes, a shell? Definitely not sparking anything in the memory bank.
They slide across the cracking floor to avoid the tentacle spears, their gaze set firmly ahead until Sister Krang pounced from behind him, one of her tentacles lunging forward and wrapping around his ankle, yanking him back, away from the portal.
Whatever they had grabbed onto must have been important, and this theory only proved itself when the portal to the Prison Dimension closed suddenly with a huge blast of purple energy. The blast had your eyes squeezing shut from the force and when you groggily opened them again, the tentacles holding you hostage had been torn to shreds.
You breath was stuck in your throat. This was your chance, no one was keeping watch on you, nothing was holding you back from leaving as quickly as your strained legs could carry you. Letting out a small choked breath, you turned your gaze towards the strange person who had just helped you without even knowing it, and then the hesitation dawned upon you.
You weren't sure where your moral compass lied, it had been that long that you barely even knew who you were as a person, but watching as the shelled person stared back at the Krang with wide eyes, you saw a part of yourself in him. You couldn't let someone else end up like you, not while you were still around and kicking.
Just as you were about to stand, another figure made itself known to you, and though he was much larger than his friend, you could tell that they were most likely related in some way or another. He had raced up the broken stairs and was probably on his way to help his buddy, he paused when he caught sight of you.
You swallowed and stared right back at him, hands torn up from the debris scattered around you, bruises littering your skin, you probably looked so small to him, fragile. You watched as he muttered to himself before rushing towards you at an incredible pace, making you flinch backwards in surprise.
His large hands come to gently grasp your shoulder, and it takes a lot out of you to not hiss in pain, even when his touch was feather light, "Look, I have to be quick, but where you're going, you'll be safe, alright? Just tell 'em Raph sent ya."
You blinked up at him, your mouth agape though no words leave your lips. Just when you finally find the courage to say something to him, he reaches out and places something on your chest, the sound of mechanics coming to life filling your ears.
"Wait-" You barely manage to get out before you were encased inside a box of sort, the small window in front of you giving view of his stressed expression as he turns and dashes towards the other shelled person, "Wait!"
You bash your fist against the glass window, feeling the box shift before you were suddenly flying off to who knows where, leaving behind your saviour, your captors and everything you remember
