2. The omega

Taehyung’s POV:

The coffee shop was quiet, the usual lull in business during the late afternoon. Taehyung enjoyed this time of day, where the few customers that came in were mostly regulars, familiar faces that didn’t demand much attention.

Soobin, who had just started working at the shop today, was busy wiping down the counter when he suddenly froze. His eyes widened in fear as he stared out the front window.

"Tae,"Soobin whispered, his voice shaky,
"he’s here."

Taehyung looked up from where he was arranging the pastries in the display case. "Who’s here?"

Soobin’s trembling hand pointed toward the door. "That guy… the one everyone’s afraid of. Jungkook."

Taehyung’s heart skipped a beat. He had heard rumors about Jungkook, the notorious alpha with a reputation that sent shivers down everyone’s spine. People said he was involved in all kinds of shady activities, and anyone who crossed his path regretted it.

"I-I’m not going out there,"
Taehyung stammered, backing away from the counter. “It’s your job to take the orders today, Soobin.”

Soobin’s face paled even further. 'Are you kidding? I can’t do it! He’ll eat me alive!"

They both stood there, bickering in hushed tones, trying to push the responsibility onto each other, completely forgetting about the dangerous man waiting outside.

Suddenly, a deep, menacing voice boomed from the entrance. "What the hell is taking so long?!"

Taehyung and Soobin jumped at the sound, their eyes widening in fear. Soobin frantically motioned for Taehyung to go, but Taehyung shook his head furiously, pointing at Soobin instead. Their whispered argument continued until Taehyung, out of sheer panic, shoved Soobin toward the front.

“You go!”
Taehyung hissed, his eyes wide with fear.

Soobin swallowed hard, visibly shaking as he stumbled toward the counter where Jungkook stood, arms crossed and eyes blazing with impatience.

“W-welcome,” Soobin stammered, barely able to get the words out. “C-can I take your order?”

Jungkook’s glare could have frozen fire. He leaned in closer, his presence overwhelming. “Coffee. Black. Now.”

Soobin nodded furiously, scrambling to prepare the order as quickly as possible. Taehyung watched from the back room, his heart pounding in his chest. He strained his ears, waiting for the telltale sound of Soobin returning, which would signal that the terrifying customer had left.

But the sound never came.

Taehyung’s anxiety grew as seconds turned into minutes. His worst fear seemed to be coming true—that Jungkook was still there. And then, as if to confirm his dread, he heard the sound of a low growl, followed by harsh, aggressive words.

Taehyung’s blood ran cold. Something was wrong. Terribly wrong.

He cautiously peeked around the corner, his breath hitching as he saw Jungkook was standing toe-to-toe with another alpha, a much older man who looked equally as dangerous. Their auras clashed in the small space, the tension so thick it was suffocating.

Jungkook was growling, his words laced with venom. "You think you can just show up here without my money?"

The other alpha sneered, pushing Jungkook back with enough force to make the cups on the counter rattle.  "You betrayed me, Jeon."

The aggression between them was palpable, the air heavy with dominance and the unmistakable scent of danger. Taehyung felt his knees weaken as the two alphas released their pheromones into the air, filling the shop with an intense pressure that made it hard to breathe.

Taehyung’s instinct screamed at him to run, to hide, but he knew he couldn’t just leave Soobin alone with these angry Alphas.

Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he slowly stepped out from behind the counter, his hands trembling as he forced himself to move closer to the confrontation.

The moment he entered the fray, the world seemed to slow down. The raw, aggressive energy from the two alphas crashed into him like a tidal wave.

Taehyung gasped, feeling his body react instinctively to the dominant hormones—his vision blurred, and he could barely keep his balance. A small whimper escaped his lips as he fought to stay standing, the oppressive aura overwhelming him.

That was when Jungkook noticed him.

Jungkook’s eyes snapped to Taehyung, dark and dangerous, but for a moment, something changed. The intensity in his gaze softened, just a fraction, as he took in the sight of the vulnerable omega struggling to remain on his feet.

Time seemed to freeze as Jungkook stared at Taehyung. The scent of the omega—sweet and pure—cut through the thick fog of rage that had clouded Jungkook’s mind.

Jungkook’s grip on the other alpha loosened, his growl fading into a low rumble as he forced his pheromones to calm. He shoved the other alpha toward the door, his voice dangerously low.
"Get out. Now."

The other alpha hesitated, but the sudden shift in Jungkook’s demeanor made him wary. With a final snarl, he backed away.

Taehyung sighed in relief . But just as he thought it was over, he looked up to find Jungkook’s intense gaze still fixed on him. Those dark eyes seemed to pierce straight through him, leaving Taehyung feeling exposed and vulnerable.

Before Taehyung could react, Jungkook turned away and followed the other alpha out of the shop, the door slamming shut behind him with a resounding thud.

"What had just happened? And why did that alpha—Jungkook—look at you like that?"
Soobin questioned taehyung.

I-i don't know, Soobin let's not think about it.
Tae said still frozen in same place starring at the glass door moving slightly with the alpha's force.
