The day you left, an angel cried

Kashif's pov
“Mom please switch the damn lights off”
“It’s six in the evening Kashif, get up”
“Mom five more minutes. You know I had a morning shift” I groaned pulling the blanket and hiding myself in it's warmth.
“No more 5 minutes. You will end up getting late and I can definitely not handle your dad’s temper” And the next thing I knew was my blanket being pulled harshly revealing my half naked body.
“Yaar mumma” I whined.
“Stop whining like a child and get ready” I sighed, knowing there was no way I could continue with my beauty sleep anymore.
“Your good for nothing son is never on time” I could hear my father’s disappointed voice as I descended down the stairs clasping my watch belt.
“Let’s go” I smiled at my mom, ignoring my father and his remarks. I am used to them I guess. They don’t affect me anymore.
“I am very much looking forward to meet Ayesha” Mom gushed.
I chuckled at her remark. She must have met her like hundred of times yet she is still excited as if it is the first time.
But then of course she would be because this time we are meeting Ayesha as my potential bride.
To be honest I never really saw Ayesha in that way. She has always been just my friend’s sister to me. But yeah me getting married is something that my parents want and I am going with the flow like always.
The only time I rebelled with my parents was for my career and it didn’t end well. My dad wanted me to takeover his business but my passion and aim was to become a doctor which I am right now and the reason behind my tarnished relation with my dad.
It was Sufyaan’s idea. He saw me suitable enough for Ayesha and suggested to my mom that we should talk to his parents about it.
My thoughts were left hanging as my phone buzzed in my pocket.
'Think of the devil and the devil calls' I thought attending the call.
“Assalamu alaikum bro. Before you start your interrogation, yes we are on the way and we'll arrive in 15 minutes” I said in a go making him laugh.
“Wa alaikum salaam. Well I called to inform you that there is some emergency so I would be kind of late but yeah I’ll try to be there as soon as possible”
“Okay, Allah hafiz” I hanged and sighed looking at the dark sky ahead as we speed past rush roads of Mumbai.
“Kashif is so quite, is everything alright my child? You sitting quite is a rare scene” Uncle remarked. Of course I had to be quite, Sufyaan was not yet here and neither was Ayesha.
“You oldies were busy gushing over your cute politics. What am I supposed to do alone? Where are my people?” I remarked.
Well I love being dramatic. But yeah my dad hates it as he is glaring at me so intensively that I would possibly be dead by now if looks could kill someone.
“There comes your people” My mother smiled emphasising on the word 'your' as Ayesha walked down the stairs with a smile.
“Gosh Kashif, why are you so red?” Ayesha remarked looking at me.
Wait what?? I was blushing??
“Because your highness decided to grace us with her presence” I said trying to cover up the stupid love sick blush.
“Assalamu alaikum everyone” We heard Sufyaan's voice.
“Wa alaikum salam, thank god you are here Sufyaan” I heaved a dramatic sigh greeting him back.
Ayesha’s pov
Great! Will anyone let me know where are the people who were supposed to come to see me and why is kashif and his parents here at this time of the hour.
I sighed looking at the time. It was already eight and there was no sign of the groom’s family.
Kashif’s parents and mines were busy talking about the economy and politics while my brother and Kashif were discussing some emergency case from the hospital and the serious looks on their face were telling me not to disturb them at all.
I sighed picking up my phone and scrolled through my insta feed. There was a picture of Ahaan, posted around 3 days back. He was sitting on the hood of his car looking at the sunset ahead of him.
Ahaan loves sunset. Back when we were in junior college and would go on trips with friends and him, he would stop the car the moment he sees a beautiful sunset. It was kind of his escape from the busy and cruel world.
“Sufyaan, why don’t you three go to the lawn and take a walk before we serve the dinner?” Mom suggested looking at the three of us making me frown.
WHERE IS THE FREAKING BOY'S FAMILY WHO WERE SUPPOSED TO COME ???
“Sure mom” My brother gestured me to get up and I followed the two of them.
“So I guess I would leave the two of you to talk then?” Sufyaan said making me look at him with confusion all over my face.
“Talk about what?” I asked.
“Um…You know, getting to know each other and all?”
“I know him since years Sufyaan” I said in a duh tone.
Kashif and my brother exchanged looks with each other for a miute before Sufyaan turned towards me with a raised eyebrow.
“So, you don’t know?”
“Know what?”
“Kashif is YOUR potential groom”
“WHAT ??!!”
