I jolted upright on my disheveled bed, breath heavy, and heart pounding. I felt a wave of dizziness as the blood rushed to my head. My skull ached with splitting pain. I ran my fingers through my tangled hair and clutched my head in a vain attempt to ease the pain. But I knew if I didn't take any medicine, I could kiss the rest of my night goodbye.

I swung my feet over the side of the bed and stood with shaky legs. I leaned on the bed for support as I made my way through the dark to the bathroom. I felt for the light-switch and was momentarily blinded from the light. I had to stand there blinking furiously, waiting to adjust to the light.

After I could see clearly, I looked up at the horrifying image staring back at me. Dark circles ringed my bloodshot eyes, and my hair looked like I stuck my finger in a light socket. Dissatisfied, I pulled my brush through my rats nest, attempting to tame my unruly hair.

I pulled open the medicine cabinet, and shook a couple of ibuprofen into my palm. I turned on the facet and cupped my hand and got a mouthful of water. I downed the medicine and splashed some cool water in my face. I dried off and turned to leave my bathroom.

I stepped through the doorway and I was hit with a blast of cold static-like energy. I felt goosebumps race up my arms and I hugged my arms to my chest. The only odd thing was the windows weren't open, the air conditioner wasn't on, and plus when I got up it was kinda stuffy. But thinking there must be a logical explanation, I shrugged and headed back to my head.

But yet again, I stopped dead in my tracks to see a dark figure slumped on the edge of my bed. I tried to scream, but it caught in my throat. I felt paralyzed with fear.

Then the figure turned it's torso to me, and bright blue eyes pierced through me, and I almost gasped. It was the boy from my nightmare! I blinked and I looked up to see he had disappeared into thin air.

Ugh, now I'm hallucinating, I thought to myself. I finally reached the bed and pulled the covers up to my chin and curled into a ball. Finally, I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
