"Kim Taehyung, What exactly did you do to trigger Jungkook's heat? ", Jin's angry voice made Taehyung wince internally.

He was at his parents house now, having dropped Jungkook at their home with his two cousins, Jisoo and Sehun. Taehyung's mother had already prepared all the necessities for Jungkook's heat and so, everything was under control for now.

It was a hard job getting the omega to calm down when he realized that Taehyung was leaving. The omega had slipped into a state of hysteria, crying and begging his mate to not leave, as it perceived Taehyung's actions as a rejection.

Taehyung had spent a good amount of time just trying to make the omega understand, and even that was a hard job in itself.

The omega had finally calmed down when Taehyung told him to stay in his room where Taehyung's scent was the most prominent, and to make a nest with all of Taehyung's clothes. The Alpha had promised his mate that he will give him what he wants if Jungkook agrees when he is out of the heat phase. Though it was a challenge, the omega had finally agreed and calmed down.

Which brings us to this situation at the present moment. Jin had come over when Taehyung's mother had informed him of Jungkook going into heat and it was very obvious that the heat was not triggered by Jungkook's omega who had absolutely refused to trigger it in the past.

" I- I don't know okay. I think it was because of my pheromones.  I did spread a good amount to get him to calm down after his panic attack. I think staying in my scent all night made his body respond and his omega triggered the heat because of the comfort of my scent"

Taehyung didn't realize his mistake until Jin gasped and said out loud, "wait, what do you mean panic attack? What the fuck did you do to him that he had a panic attack?"

Taehyung groaned. Okay, this was not going well for him.

"Nothing. I did nothing. I just.. I may have asked him to give me a chance. I think his omega got too overwhelmed causing him to panic. But I calmed him down okay. That's why my pheromones were all over his room the entire night because I stayed there just to make sure he was alright"

Taehyung lied, obviously.  He doesn't want to tell his family about the main reasons for the panic attack, neither about his conversation with Doctor Seojoon because for one, nothing was confirmed yet and telling his family will just cause more worry. Two, taehyung doesn't want Jungkook to think that Taehyung is exposing his secrets. Even though it seems like jungkook doesn't know about his trauma, it's not fair for Taehyung to tell others. It's going to be Jungkook's choice. All Taehyung can do is make sure his mate is okay and when the time comes, to just be by his side as his support system.

"Yah!," Jin yelled, "You need to stop pressuring the boy!"

Taehyung heaved out a frustrated sigh, "hyung. I'm not pressuring him. I swear. I'm giving him space but I'm also trying to be a better mate. I promise "

Jin was not convinced but he didn't say anything further. He was just over protective of Jungkook so Taehyung cannot really complain. He was just glad that Jungkook had someone like Jin to care for him.

"I'm going to sleep now please. My alpha is going crazy. The suppressants didn't do much. Just subdued my alpha a little bit but he is still fighting me to go to Jungkook. I'm going to take 2 more pills and sleep it off. Can you please keep tabs on Jungkook while I sleep? Call Jisoo or Sehun and check what's going on? ", Taehyung asked his brother, already getting up to go and sleep.

"Why can't you call them to check huh? It's your mate", Jin grumbled, annoyed.

Taehyung turned around to glare at his brother, "exactly. It's my mate. If I call and I hear even one sound from Jungkook, my alpha will lose control and run over there immediately. I'm already having a hard time controlling him. I really don't want to aggravate him any further. So please hyung, just check on him will you?"

Jin muttered a few curses under his breath, annoyed that for the first time in his life, Taehyung was actually making sense.

Taehyung closed the lock on his door, moving to pick up his bag which contained a few of his clothes and necessities.  He pulled out a sweater that belonged to Jungkook and had his scent all over it.

For some reason, Taehyung couldn't resist sneaking in the sweater. Maybe it was because of Jungkook's heat, or maybe it was just Taehyung trying to justify his actions. Whatever the reason, Taehyung hugged the sweater close to himself as he settled into the bed.

When he said his alpha was going crazy, he hadn't lied. His wolf was really bellowing in his head, and Taehyung was getting a headache just because of it.

Taehyung knows he wasn't a good mate. He had hurt Jungkook over and over, going as far as to use Jimin as a means to hurt Jungkook. But one thing that Taehyung prided himself over was that he had never cheated on Jungkook physically.

Even during his rut, Taehyung had always booked a hotel room and stayed locked up there, alone. He will not lie and say that he didn't find his mate attractive before. He had always found Jungkook attractive. Jungkook was like a vixen, always drawing Taehyung in and perhaps, that was the reason why Taehyung did everything to make sure that he never got too close to his mate.

It was twisted, really. Taehyung's actions were in a way, his own stupid attempts at making himself believe that he hated his mate, because a little attraction to Jungkook scared the shit out of him.

During his ruts, Taehyung had always imagined Jungkook there with him. It made him feel guilty afterwards, like he was wrong to think of his mate so intimately.

Perhaps it felt wrong because Taehyung had always believed that he had to love Jimin only. It was more like an obligation that Taehyung had to be bound to. A way to repay Jimin's kindness. Taehyung felt like he owed Jimin his love.

But now Taehyung realizes that it was wrong. He didn't owe Jimin anything. Instead he owed it all to Jungkook.

Taehyung isn't in love with Jungkook yet, that's for sure. But this time, atleast, Taehyung is not going to put an end to the attraction he had for his mate.

Yep. Taehyung was attracted to his mate and for the first time, he was actually happy about it.

A filler chapter that was kind of important cuz it marks the start of Taehyung's changing heart.
