Taehyung stood in the hospital cafeteria, holding a pipping cup of coffee, just staring outside, his mind not paying attention to his surrounding, but instead focusing on all the emotions he was feeling.

It's been 3 days since he marked Jungkook. At first, even the doctors were not sure if Jungkook's omega had survived, seeing as there was no change in his condition.

Nearly 18 hours later, Jungkook's body had started showing signs of getting better.

Jungkook had slipped in and out of consciousness countless times in the past 3 days, each time not lasting more than a few seconds.

He was no way near healed, that was for sure. His omega was still very weak. Because of his omega's heartbreak, Jungkook's body had started giving up on him as well.

He had a lot of internal damage which will take time to heal, as his werewolf's healing abilities were not working because of how weak his wolf was.

Taehyung was super grateful that Jungkook's omega had not outright rejected the marking. He was grateful that the omega had fought to survive.

Taehyung didn't dare leave the hospital in the past 3 days. Even though he wasn't allowed to be in the same room as Jungkook, he still stayed in the hospital, scared to leave in the fear that something will happen and he wouldn't be there.

You see, after the marking was done, Jin had realized that in their panic they had forgotten to inform Jungkook's parents about Jungkook's declining health.

So Jin had called them and explained what had happened. Yes. Everything that had happened.

He had told them about Taehyung's rejection of Jungkook and the reasons leading up to this state of Jungkook.

He had also informed his and Taehyung's parents as well.

Everyone was ofcourse, super mad and disappointed in Taehyung. Jungkook's father had downright kicked Taehyung out of the room Jungkook was admitted in, going as far as to call the Kim family out on their obliviousness.

Jungkook's father was not wrong though. It was baffling to him how no one from Taehyung's family had noticed the ill-treatment of the Omega for four years. How was that even possible?

But then, Taehyung and Jungkook were very good actors.

'Excuse me', a deep voice snapped Taehyung's focus back, a really pale Alpha stepping in front of him.

Taehyung looked confused. The Alpha infront of him looked calm and collected, expression bare and cold but the pheromones the Alpha was releasing were very, very angry.

"Yes?", Taehyung asked, his voice coming out rather rough due to not speaking for the past 3 days.

"You are Kim Taehyung no?", the Alpha asked, as if making a statement, rather than asking a question.

Taehyung nodded, still confused as ever.

The Alpha smirked, before swinging his fisted hand right onto Taehyung's face, catching his nose as the impact of the punch left Taehyung breathless.

Blood started pouring out of his nose and he was sure it was broken.

"The fuck man?", Taehyung snapped, angry now. Had it been any other day, Taehyung would have probably hit back but he was drained of energy right now, having not slept at all these past few days.

The Alpha who punched him growled, his eyes flashing a crimson red with anger, the calm and collected facade finally lifting as he spoke dangerously, " that's for nearly killing my bestfriend you fucking monster!"

Taehyung was stunned. Bestfriend?

Taehyung had never seen this guy with Jungkook. In their four years of marriage, he has never seen this guy anyway near Jungkook.

"I guess you must be expecting me to thank you for saving him by marking him but I'm not going to thank you at all. What you did was part of your responsibility as his mate, but then, you never did anything right so it must be a first for you. If I see you anywhere near Jungkook from now onwards, I will skin you alive. I'm taking him far away from you, where even your shadow won't be able to touch him you pathetic alpha"

The commotion had gathered a crowd, even bringing Namjoon and Jin there. Yet, Taehyung couldn't focus on anything except the words of the Alpha.

His wolf lost control as soon as he heard the Alpha say he was going to take Jungkook away from him.

"You dare threaten to take my omega away from me?", his tone sent a chill through the crowd, his growl dangerously animalistic.

But the Alpha didn't seem phased by it at all.

"Yes. I am. Because I will. He is not your omega. Never was. You never accepted him. I blame you as much as I blame your human side. To think a wolf couldn't control the actions of his own human. Fucking shame on you! It's not a threat. Its a promise. I am taking him away. Do whatever you possibly can to try to even stop me. I won't hesitate to kill you because I'm done letting you hurt him anymore. Jungkook is so naive that he still stayed with you even when you were slowly killing him. 4 years he suffered your abuse and 2 years he suffered with the pain of a dying omega. You don't even deserve to call him your omega."

Taehyung's wolf who had taken control suddenly backed down, ashamed.

Yoongi was right. He could have stopped his human if he had tried hard enough but apparently he didn't.

The alpha wiped his hand on his suit, the one he had used to punch Taehyung with before speaking.

"Have a good day Kim Taehyung.  I hope you choke on air.", Someone in the crowd snorted, possibly Jin (definitely Jin) on hearing the Alpha's words.

The Alpha turned to leave, raising his eyebrows at the crowd which immediately dispersed, intimidated by the scary Alpha.

"Oh, I'm Min Yoongi by the way. Jungkook's bestfriend since his diaper days. Definitely sure you didn't know that since you never tried to know anything about Jungkook anyway", the Alpha, Yoongi, added before giving a mocking salute to Taehyung and walking off.

Taehyung, once again, couldn't do anything but lower his head, guilt and shame filling his heart, making him feel suffocated with pain.

Alpha Min Yoongi has lived his life away from Korea for 7 years, living in America, away from his friends.

He left 7 years ago because of his responsibilities, the same responsibility that had prevented him from attending his bestfriend's wedding.

Yoongi had begged Jungkook countless times to just reject the Alpha and join him in America but the kind and sweet Omega had always refused.

The reason? Jungkook didn't want Taehyung to get hurt.

You see, Jungkook had initially decided to reject Taehyung when he had gotten to know of Taehyung's affection for Jimin, but then he found out about what happens to an Alpha after rejection.

The werewolf society would have thrown them both out, yes, but the reasons for throwing Taehyung out would have been very different from Jungkook.

While Jungkook would be thrown out as punishment for rejecting his mate, Taehyung would have been thrown out to protect the other werewolves.

An Alpha loses his sanity if their mate rejects them. The alpha wolf overpowers the human, slowly fading the human's personality into the background, becoming rogue. It poses a threat to the other wolves. The rogue wolf will not die immediately, having the capability to live up to 4 years but that was it. Eventually, it will die of a broken heart.

When Jungkook had found out about this, he had taken the worst decision possible.

That foolish and kind omega had accepted the bond and the marriage, even when he knew it will make Taehyung hate him more.

Jungkook was too selfless. Too kind.

All these years, Jungkook stayed with Taehyung despite knowing how the constant rejection was affecting his health and his wolf, only to protect the Alpha, his soulmate.

In Yoongi's eyes, Taehyung didn't deserve a little bit of Jungkook's kindness, but his bestfriend was too stubborn to listen.

Too selfless to think about himself and too selfless to try to save his own self.

That's why, even after Yoongi's constant begging, jungkook never budged, never regretting his decision to stay in an unhappy marriage, even when he knew it was slowly killing him. For Jungkook, it was better him dying than Taehyung.

4 days ago, when Yoongi had received that chilling call from Jungkook, only to hear two words, "I'm sorry", He had been fucking terrified out of his mind.

He had tried to call the omega back countless times but it never got through.

Defeated, he had called Jungkook's parents and that's how he had found out about Jungkook's near death experience and the marking.

He wished he could have gotten here sooner, but his responsibilities didn't let him.

But Yoongi knew that Jungkook would understand, afterall, Jungkook would kill Yoongi if he left his sick daughter alone in that hospital, his daughter who was dying.

I figured it was time to introduce Yoongi and confirm the real reason as to why Jungkook stayed with Taehyung despite the constant rejection.

The boy is too selfless to the point of his own detriment.
