Dominic is dead. Our only lead gone. I feel lightheaded, my eyes droopy. I can hear someone calling my name. I can sense someone shaking me but I'm too tired to respond. I feel dizzy and in seconds, I'm consumed by darkness.

I wake up, trying to adjust to the room brightness. I look around to see I'm attached to an IV machine. I look to my right to see Donald's head resting on my bed. I move slightly causing him to open his eyes. As soon as we make eye contact, he holds me by the shoulders, searching my eyes as he says, "Grace. Are you alright? Do you need water?" "How long was I out?", I ask in a hoarse voice and he replies "A few hours. Do you need water?"

I nod and he gets me a glass of water. "You blacked out when you heard Dominic was dead. The doctor said you were overwhelmed and stressed out. It's alright, Rachel and Theodore are on top of this. Rachel found out it was the water he drank. The officer who gave him the water wasn't registered in the system. Theo and Hiro are trying to track down the guy's location. All you need to do is rest.", he says in a soft voice.

I sigh and nod before saying, "You should leave too. I'll be fine here, don't worry." "Are you sure?" he asks, skeptical and I nod. He squeezes my hand and walks out of my room.

After a few hours of sleeping, I am woken up by a strange noise. I instantly become alert and grab my gun from under my pillow. I ripped the IV off my arm and stood up. As I limped out of the room with my gun pointed straight ahead, I winced in pain. It was about 10pm at night and it was only me and a few medical personnel present in the warehouse at the moment.

"Veronica!" I call out the doctor in charge of me. Almost immediately, I hear a shriek in the hallway. I rush there as fast as I can and spot a lifeless body on the ground with a pool of blood around it. I gasp in horror and clasp my hands around my mouth.

I immediately spot someone running towards me with a gun pointed at my face. I aim and shoot at his leg. I then moved downstairs. I needed to make sure everyone else was alright. I walked down the hallway and heard a slight whimper from the storage unit. After carefully opening it, I realized it was just the nurses hiding in the shadows. As soon as they saw me, they screamed.

"Hey, hey. It's just me. Let's get you out of here.", I say leading the nurses out. Then one of them speaks up, "Dr. V and Rebecca are still out there. We have to find them."

I sighed and whispered, "Rebecca is dead." They all gasped at the shocking news and I continued, "I will find Dr. Veronica. I promise, I need to get you out safely." Suddenly two men appeared in front of us. I shoot their limbs and we run until we reach the facility exit. I tell the nurses to run and call for back up while I find Dr. V.

I continue to run up the stairs as fast as I can. A muffled sound catches my attention and I run towards the noise. I stop at the door to another room. I point my gun forward and burst through the door.

I quickly rush up to Dr. V who is tied to a chair. I rip the tape from her mouth gently before saying, "Did they hurt you?" She shakes her head with tears streaming down her eyes. "Where did they go?" I asked, removing the zip ties from her hands.

She points down the hallway. I nod before saying, "I'm trying to get you out of here alright." I need you to lock the door when I leave. No matter what you hear, do not open the door to anyone that isn't me or the cops. Got that?"

She nods and says in a shaky tone, "Please be safe." I smile and leave the room. I advanced down the hall and spotted three men ahead. As soon as they spotted me, I shot one of them and knocked another out with my gun. The third person makes contact with me and brings out a pocket knife and walks towards me with it pointed forward.

"Who sent you?", I shout and he chuckles before coming at me with the knife and I hold it with my bare hand millimeters away from my heart. I feel blood gushing out of my hand as I try to push it as far away from me as possible and then I shoot his leg making him groan in pain.

Suddenly, I hear a door breaking down and realize the cops are here. The guy I shot runs away limping and then Donald appears in front of me asking me questions. However, my head is a bit fuzzy so I just point to the guy running away and then I black out for the second time today.
