Sin's POV

"Miss?" I asked timidly looking down at the leaf scattered ground as we walked deeper into the forest behind the hospital.

"What is it Sin?" Miss Heart asked and I could feel her eyes on me causing me to recoil slightly.

"Why.. Why did you pick me..? A vampire I mean.." I asked quietly taking a glance over to Silver, who seemed to want to be let go of as she tried to get out of her mom's grasp.

"Well.. Sin it's simple.. Although Silver and I live within the werewolf compound we are not seen as normal compared to everyone else, especially because of what Silver is and what I am. Because of this I chose to add something interesting to the mix of my little family and you, Sin are just the one we need." She responded letting go of Silver's hand. Silver, with her newly found freedom took off farther down the trail and rather quickly, disappeared from sight. A sudden panic rose in my chest and I fought to keep my cool as Silver's mother stopped and got down to my level, making me look her in the eyes.

"Now Sin, I know you are young and asking you to protect my little girl is a lot of pressure, especially with how she can be, but if you are going to be with her for a very long time you'll need to know more about her. Will you listen?" Miss Heart asked and I nodded slowly, trying to keep my uneasiness down.

"Ok... Here it goes.."

Silver's POV

I ran as fast as my feet could carry me and my small form through the woods, occasionally tripping over roots and fallen branches as well as thin air, but nonetheless, I ran. The air was cold and still as leaves continued to drop from there branches and trees and if you stopped and listened you could hear small bird songs here and there. Suddenly feeling tired I slowed my pace as exhaustion took over my small body and I sat myself against a tree and leaned against it. The sun was well ready to leave the sky as the orange sky melted into blue.

"Woah.. Pretty.." I mumbled reaching up as if I could actually touch the dark blue from all the way down here. All of a sudden loud howls sounded throughout the woods causing me to jump and shrink back in fear. Whimpering, I tried covering my ears and muttered calming words to myself.

"Silver!!!" Sin's voice rang through the air, but panic overrode my senses, causing me to freeze in my place against the tree.

"Silver come on please!!" He cried tugging at my arms, but I refused to move.

"Please Silver... We need to move.. Miss Heart gave me orders to get you out of here... Please Silver just.. Come with me.." The pleading tone in his voice reached my ears and I whimpered, but nodded and reluctantly got up and let him drag me through the forest.

"Sin!! Where are we going?! What about Mommy?!?!" I screamed almost turning back, but Sin only gripped my hand tighter and pulled me along as we ran.

"There's nothing we can do about that now Silver!! It's over!! We've just gotta keep running!! That's what she told me to do!" He yelled back, causing tears to appear, threatening to spill over at any moment. Feeling numb I stopped running and fell over scrapping my knees and hands in attempt to catch myself. Sin, suddenly feeling my absence, turned towards me and stared at me blankly for a few moments as I stayed there, looking at the ground, blinking the tears from my eyes as I sniffled.

"Y-you.. Can go n-now.. This is t-the part where y-you leave.. Vampire's don't b-belong here a-anyways.. G-go.." I stuttered as I listened to his feet shuffle against the ground. Feeling arms wrap around me I squeaked as I was lifted from the ground.

"Silver. I will not leave. We're in this together now." He spoke calmly, but seriously and I nodded as more tears filled my eyes.

"Thank you.. Sin.."
