i walked into the locker room with angel & chenn. she was talking about how she wanted ja morant for christmas.

"chenn who you want for christmas ?" i asked.

"nobody as of right now. i'm just focusing on basketball" she said.

"well what about melo, he be talm bout how you his favorite lol" she said.

"okay first of all, ion date men and 2 melo has gf" chenn said.

"why don't you like men ? is there a reason or your just not attracted to them ?" angel asked.

"not even gone lie when i was in high school i was talking to a boy and he was actually okay. he was sweet & handsome and stuff very athletic. but when i was a sophomore in highschool i remember my perverted a** uncle use to touch me and sh** and it changed my whole perspective".

"which i know isn't fair to everyone else cus not all men are like him but after that i could not catch feelings for men and i knew that was the reason. since then i been gay as h*ll lol" she said.

"aww did you ever tell your family ?"

"nah. my uncle use to do sh** that traumatized the h*ll outta me i was to scared to speak up. he was my dads brother & they were so close ian wanna ruin their relationship" she said.

"girl you should've told. f*** their relationship you being touched is way more important and if his brother had to see the cell than so be it" i said.

i set my stuff down & opened my locker praying and hoping my engagement ring was were i left it. i moved my stuff and it was gone.

i started to panic. and by panic i mean breathing hard i was moving stuff and looking all around the room. i don't understand how my ring could be gone when i know i put it in my locker.

"guys it's gone" i said.

"woah calm down. we'll help you look" chenn said.

"nope nothing" angel said.

"nada" chenn said huffing.

"i couldn't find it guys" kamilla said through her accent.

i rubbed my forehead sitting down. i put my head in my hands as the tears started flowing. how could i be so irresponsible and lose the one thing that meant the most to me ? what am i gonna tell kk ? like i don't understand this.

"it's okay girl.." chenn said as her and angel rubbed my back.

it only made me feel worse. because kk spent so much time and she put so much love and effort into that ring.

"no because kk put her heart into that ring. that sh** gone break heart man." i said through tears.

"well maybe someone on the team picked it up." kamilla said.

"how much was the ring ?" angel asked.

"almost 50k" i said.

"OMG" chenn said gasping.

"my bad.. they shocked the h*ll outta me you hear me ? almost 50k ? engagement ring ? baby we gotta find that" chenn said.

i texted juju over and over and still no response. it was really starting to worry me because she never does this. i just hope she's okay.

i continued to wait for her to text me back. i know that she's as loyal as can be but i'm more worried about her being in danger or something happening to her. i just wanted her to text me back. i just wanted to hear her voice. see her face.

10 minutes later she texted me and told me to ft her so i did instantly.

"hii my love.. i'm sorry for worrying you today just hasn't been it" she said.

"that's okay baby. i'm just glad your okay." i said.

"what's wrong tho bae ? you look like you been crying" i said.

"not gone lie i was. crying my heart out it's just about" she said.

i looked into the camera and i saw that she was in the locker room. and she was by herself so i guess the team was still shooting around.

"tell me about it baby. i'm here for you always" i said.

she looked into my eyes and i could tell something was definitely wrong. it made me so sad. i hated seeing her like this. i heard the door open and someone talking to her and i recognized chenn's voice. along with angel and kamilla.

"your okay boo. just be straight up" angel said.

"what's wrong ?" i asked.

"so yk how yesterday i told you i left my ring here in my locker ?" she asked and i nodded setting my laptop down while she spoke.

"mhmm" i said putting it on the charger.

she took a long pause making me stare at her.

"yes baby i remember" i said.

"it's gone" she said as her voice cracked.

"what's. gone. ?" i asked slowly through gritted teeth.

ik she was gonna tell me she lost her engagement ring but i refuse to believe it. it's so precious to her and i didn't wanna jump to conclusions.

"my ring" she said tears streaming down her face.

"YOU LOST YOUR ENGAGEMENT RING JUDEA ?" i yelled.

"i'm sorry okay. please don't yell at me i feel bad enough already. i put it in my locker yesterday before practice like i do everyday and now it's gone. we checked everywhere and we can't find it"

"i'm so sorry baby" she added.

"how could you be so irresponsible bro ? that was one of the most important things you had and you just lost it ? yk how much love i put into getting that ring for you ? how could you let this happen ?"

"i don't know okay. i tried to find it over and over. & i feel terrible but idk what else you want me to do. i can't make it just appear." she said crying.

"man aight" i said rubbing my forehead.

"mamas i'm so sorry i didn't mean to lose it" she cried.

"well yk what ? if there's no ring then there's no wedding" i said.

"what ? kk fr ? you would cancelled the wedding over an accident ? i said i was sorry but that don't mean ion wanna marry you" juju said now in full blown tears.

"i wanna marry you to juju but ion have the money to get you a new ring. i spent all i had on the wedding" i replied.

"look i gotta go" i said.

"baby please" she cried.

"bye judea" i said hanging up.

i set my phone down wiping my tears. i got so much love for juju but knowing she lost her engagement ring hurt. it was never about the price it was about the fact that it came from my heart.

i hid my face in my knees leveling out my breathing. not only did i lose my engagement ring but now i lost my fiancé. ik it was gone hurt kk but ian think she would cancel the wedding.

i couldn't even be mad at her because i definitely wouldn't have taken lightly if it was the other way around. i wouldn't have canceled the wedding but i can't say she overreacted. i felt angel & chenn console me and tbh my head was everywhere.

"kk loves you to much to just cancel it. maybe she just needs sometime to cool off" chenn said.

we heard the door open and i saw coach ty. she bent down to me and rubbed my back.

"hi coach" i croaked out.

"juju what's wrong ?" she asked.

"i don't wanna talk about it, but thank you for asking" i said and she nodded lifting my chin up to look at her. she used her finger to wipe my tears.

"well um whatever it is i hope it gets better for you baby. but i came in here because i found your engagement ring on the bench in here after you guys left."

"i come in here after everyone leave everyday to make sure no one left something important." she said putting the ring in my hand.

"OMG MY RING. THANK YOU COACH" i yelled hugging her tightly.

"your welcome.. wait is that why you were crying ? you thought you lost it. well im sorry if i made you think that. i just didn't want it to go missing so i put it in my desk" she said.

"no it's okay i really appreciate, thank you" i said and she nodded. she helped me up and i decided to just practice with it on.

"see we told you... you got nothing to worry about boo" chenn said.

"thank you guys, for all the support and help" i said hugging kamilla, chenn, and angel.

"ofc yk we gotchu" angel said.

i grabbed my phone and saw that kk was calling. weird there's no way she cooled down that fast.

"hello ?" i said.

"baby ? i'm really sorry for screaming at you and canceling the wedding. i totally overreacted and i'm so sorry i hope you can forgive me."

"mamas, it's okay it's not your fault i understand my love. you put so much love into that ring. you didn't overreact and ofc i forgive you. i'm sorry for being so irresponsible" i said.

"that's okay we can get you a new ring. i can use my college fund my grandparents saved for me" she said smiling.

"no more tears my love. wipe your face it's okay. we're okay" i said and she wiped the tears away.

"i really appreciate that tho baby & you. but we don't need" i said.

"why not ? we have to get you a new ring baby." she said.

"because i found it. well actually my coach saw it on the bench after we left and got it for me so nothing would happen to it" i said.

"WHAT ? omgg that's amazing baby! she's one of those coaches that check the locker room after everyone leaves to make sure no one left anything important huh ?" she said and i nodded.

"exactly. i love you tho baby." i said.

"i love you forever more" she said.

we talked for about 5 more minutes before i walked onto the court where angel nem were. it felt like weights had been lifted off my shoulders. and i can definitely see kk's growth. all though she got really upset and hung up on me the way she called back not even 10 minutes later to apologize just shows it.

she was never wrong for how she reacted but i love that we can both apologize to each other with no problem. it's gone always help our relationship be 10x stronger.
