Prologue

Martha Washington opened the door and smiled at the scrawny boy standing on her doorstep. He had a backpack on and wore a dark green hoodie that was pretty tattered.

"George! The kid is here!" Martha yelled to her husband.

George Washington walked over to the door and welcomed the boy in. The boy shivered and stepped inside the house, looking around with wide eyes.

"So, what's your name?" George asked, sitting down.

"You already know that." The boy retorted, staring at a painting on the wall.

"Yes, but I want to hear from you."

"I'm Hamilton. Alexander Hamilton." Alexander looked at George, holding out his hand. The man shook his hand gently.

"Welcome into our household Alexander, we're all the same here." Martha smiled.

"Somewhat." George replied. "We're all werewolves here. I'm sure you are very different to us in other ways. Just know you're welcome here none the less."

Alexander nodded, frowning slightly. He wasn't used to people being so kind and welcoming. He opened his mouth to speak when another boy ran down the stairs, tripping over the last step. Alexander instinctively caught the falling boy, who smiled up at him.

« Merci. »

« Pas de problème. »

The boy's eyes widened and he beamed.

« Tu parles français? »

« Oui. Je suis fluent en français. »

« Tu t'appelle comment? »

« Alexandre Hamilton. »

« Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de La Fayette. »

Alexander helped Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de La Fayette up and shook his hand.

« Tu peux m'appeler Laf. »

« Cela sera plus facile, merci. »

Lafayette promised that he'd introduce Alexander to his friends, which he promptly did.

Maria Reynolds. Margarita Schuyler. Elizabeth Schuyler. Angelica Schuyler. Hercules Mulligan. And a John Laurens.

Alexander felt drawn towards John, for an unexplained reason. Except maybe that the boy was really cute.

By the end of the day, Alexander had a huge crush on John. Little did he know, it wasn't one-sided.

John knew Alexander was a werewolf, and that cross-species relationships were frowned upon, but he couldn't care less when he asked Alexander out a month later.

Obviously, Alexander said agreed and they started dating. The Schuylers and Maria all thought that was great. Lafayette, Hercules and the Washingtons... not so much. John's family didn't particularly like the eldest son dating a werewolf either, and the situation was made worse by the fact that John had had to come out as gay.

But honestly, Alexander and John did not care. They couldn't care less what their family and peers thought of their relationship.

They were happy.
