5 ~ Cunning
John pov~
I sighed as Alex and I walked to his house.
"That was... eventful." He said after a moment.
"Indeed." I took his hand. "Sorry about that."
"Why're you're sorry? You did nothing." Alex smiled and I couldn't help but kiss him lightly.
Alex giggled and pushed me away, blushing. I wrapped an arm around his waist and rested my head on top of his.
"Smol bean." I stated.
"I'm not that small, you're just tall!" Alex pouted and I moved so I was facing him and raised an eyebrow.
My boyfriend let out a long sigh and rolled his eyes. "Fine. I'm short. Awesome. Wow."
I patted him on the top of his head, furthermore proving he was a tiny human. I'm not even that tall, I'm an average height, Alex is just really short.
I chuckled as he glared at me playfully.
"Sometimes I wonder why we don't just break up." Alex sighed. "And then I remember... this." He waved his hand, clearly indicating the really good vibes right now.
I simply grinned, intertwining our fingers and Alex leaned his head on my shoulder.
Laf pov~
(a / n: I want to write his pov in French, because he would think in French, but also I feel like that's kinda mean for all the non-francophones who read this, so I'm doing it in English and you have to read it with a French accent. Wow that was long)
I walked down the hall with Hercule, frowning from my recent conversation with the Schuylers and Maria.
They still think that Alexandre and John can be together.
It's unnatural. I don't like my brother dating a human. And a human without a drop of werewolf blood in his veins. John Laurens. Why a Laurens of all people? Laurens' are all snobby humans who've never had romantic connections with werewolves.
Of course Alexandre had to be a first.
Of course he had to be special.
I snarled and Hercule shot me a look. I met his gaze and he blinked and looked away.
I remember when Alexandre showed up, he was nice but oh so nervous and awkward.
"Be nice to him, he's been through bad stuff." The Washingtons had told me.
He's an immigrant. Wow. Good for him. I am too. I had to sneak out of France and run away to America.
But no.
Alexandre was the important one.
I sighed and slammed my locker shut.
"Laf?" Hercule said, clearly noticing my bad mood.
"What?"
"I dunno, you seem upset."
"Yeah I am."
"Care to tell me why?"
"The usual."
He nodded and didn't said anything else as we walked to class. I lifted my hand up to my ponytail and tugged at the elastic, letting my hair loose around my shoulders. I kinda like it like this. I know I have it up usually but I'm trying something new and it's not bad...
(Skippy dippy time!)
I was about to walk out of school when someone tugged on my arm and led me behind the building. I turned around and faced the person. She was tall with short wavy brown hair, striking emerald eyes and lots of freckles. Martha Laurens. I sighed and leaned against the wall.
"Quoi? Qu'est ce que tu veux?" I sighed, crossing my arms.
"Where's your friend?" She hissed.
"Hercule?"
"Yeah, him."
"You pulled me away, you'd know better."
"I'll go get him." She grumbled and gave me a look. She wanted me to stay there.
I considered leaving just to annoy the eldest Laurens sister, but I was curious, so I stayed in place, staring at the sky as it edged towards the sunset.
Martha can back soon with Hercule in tow, and sat down on the grass. I sat in front of her, my friend at my side.
"Why're we here?" Hercule asked.
"We need to talk." Martha sighed.
"I see..?" I raised an eyebrow. "What about?"
"You know what I mean." Martha stared me in the eyes.
"Do I?"
She glared at me and tapped her foot.
"Fine." I conceded. "What about them?"
"It needs to stop."
"Thanks for this, we didn't know before. You have enlightened us." Hercule rolled his eyes.
"Sure, but I have a plan." An evil glint appeared in her eyes. "See, there are lots of people who'd hate to hear of that relationship. One of whom is a scientist who works with damah and recreating emotions."
I was actually pretty interested now.
"I got in contact with him. Told him about Alexander and my brother."
"And?" I pressed.
Martha fished in her bag and pulled out a vial filled with something that looked like liquid transparent glue. She swirled the vial a little and I reached out a hand to read the label.
"Lafayette, I know Alexander is your brother, do you mind if we...?" Martha places the vial delicately in my palm and I held it to the light, Hercule leaning over my shoulder.
I read the label and grinned evilly.
"This'll be perfect."
