I feel nervous

That phrase kept repeating in my mind over and over again. I missed the first 2 days of class because I went on a trip to New York, which made me have a really long summer vacation.

"I wonder if there are any new students this year...." I sigh while I walked up the stairs which lead to my classroom, I think.

The hallways were bright since there were windows everywhere, making the sun shine through. I could hear the students chattering and shouting in their own classrooms as well. I kept glancing at the classroom doors, hoping to find the one that was mine sooner or later.

After walking for a few minutes, I finally reached a classroom that had a list of students for that class. I quickly skimmed through the paper and saw my name on the right side. I sigh in relief and look at the door, feeling nervous about who might be in there.

"Great, time to go inside I guess..." I slowly grab the doorknob with my trembling hand and slowly opened it.

When I fully open the door, what was shown was a bright classroom with green curtains. The curtains were swaying in the wind, since all the windows were open to let the sunshine come in. Suddenly, I heard some people shout as some of them started running to me.

"Lily you're here!" A girl with brown braided hair exclaims with joy.

"Man, I was wondering where you were on the first day of class!" A boy with blue rimmed glasses and a grin says.

"Ayumi, Victor, its been a while since we last talked to each other!" I say, glad to see my two best friends being my classmates.

They both smile and point at an empty seat in the first row. It was near the window so it felt really windy near there. I slowly walk towards my seat and softly place my backpack beside my chair with a soft thump.

Ayumi and Victor slowly follow me and sit on their own seats. Victor sat beside me while Ayumi sat behind me. I looked around the classroom, amazed by how it was neatly decorated. There was a mini library in the back and a place to put unfinished and finished projects.

"So, where did you go this summer, Lily?" Ayumi asks.

I hesitated for a while, wondering if both of them would really believe me if I say I went to New York or something. I sighed and just decided to tell them hoping for a good reaction.

"Well this might be hard to believe, but I went to New York this summer." I hesitantly replied, waiting for their reactions.

"Woah, New York?! That place is known for being called the Sleepless City right?" Victor says with a grin.

"Yup, trust me its so cool there. Maybe one day we can all go together to New York." I smile, glad that they replied positively.

"Great, that's a good idea! By the way, you haven't met the new students in our class right?" Ayumi asks.

"Oh, there are new students this year?" I ask curiously.

"Yeah there are, me and Victor can point them out for you if you want." Ayumi suggests.

"Sure, thank you. I really wanna know who they are!" I say, excited to see the new students.

"Alright, let me point them out for you. The new students are boys, so I think its better if I point them out." Victor says, fixing his blue jacket.

I simply nod at him, glancing around the classroom. Victor then pointed at a student with a cyan sling bag that was getting a book to read at the shelf.

"That's Abel, he's the first new student and the youngest one here." Victor says.

"Oh really, how old is he?" I ask, wondering how old Abel was.

"Oh, he's 13. I actually think he's the youngest among the 4th Year students." Victor says, not a hint of shock on his face at all.

"Wait 13?! He's still supposed to be in 1st or 2nd Year then." I say, surprised at how a really young person is a 4th Year student.

"Yeah, most of us are actually wondering why. We think he skipped some years though." Victor says, leaning on his chair.

"Anyways, moving on!" Victor exclaims. "The last new student is that guy." Victor points at a guy writing something on a piece of paper. He had a dark navy blue sling bag and light blue backpack.

"His name is Andrew Kingstone, he used to be a student here but transferred several years ago due to his dad's work." Victor says.

At that moment I felt something off  as if I had already heard of that name before. It sounded too familiar to me. I dozed off before Victor shook my shoulder lightly.

"Hello? Lily, you okay?" Victor asks, a bit worried about why I wasn't saying anything.

"No, I'm fine. Thanks for telling me the names of the new students." I smile.

Victor nods before turning around to continue what he was originally doing before. I then tried to remember where I had heard the name Andrew Kingstone before.

I kept trying and trying and my brain finally remembered only one person with that name. I tried to remember anyone else with that name, but it was no use. It only kept leading to that one person.

'No it can't be him...' I thought to myself.
