- I have a theory that the scar over his eye when older is because someone must have stolen his eye, then later he fights that person and takes it back, possibly getting healed by Wasabi since she knows medical ninjutsu. There are also two other possibilities, one, someone tries to stop him from using it in battle against them by destroying/disabling it, or two, someone fails in stealing it but it wouldn't make sense to cut it like that if that were the case so that only leaves one theory left, someone who didn't want Boruto using his Jougan in a battle against them so they attempt to eliminate it to give them a better chance which also means that it has a powerfull unknown ability/abilities.

This could also mean someone will kill people he loves and ruin his life so they can get to his dōjutsu.
