An orange tabby about 3 years old ran from tree to tree leaping on broken branches, a bunny in her mouth. Three boys chased the cat with rocks in their hands.

"Come one let's teach that cat to not steal our bunnies!" shouted one of them.

"Yeah let's throw one on her head!" said another while running.

Something hard hit her leg. She nearly tripped but kept going. The cat leaped over a small stream leaving the boys behind. She came to a small forest where many houses were built. The cat went inside a broken log. There laid six little kittens, their eyes were still closed. The cat nestled in the little nest of hay and start eating the bunny while her kittens started drinking their mother's milk. She rested her head on her paws. Her kittens were all orange tabby like herself but one of them was a black with faint tabby patterns on it. The mother of the kittens was about to sleep when she felt pain on her leg. She remembered one of the human boys had thrown a rock on her leg. She tried to move her leg but it wouldn't budge. She was shocked.

'How am I ever supposed to hunt for my kittens. On top of that, I have six of them! I know a dog lives near here too' she thought to herself.

She decided to sleep. After around five minutes, she heard a twitch outside. She quickly got up. Sun beamed in her eyes so she closed them. The next moment she looked she saw a human. She wanted to run but she fell. Then she dragged her leg into the log and covered her kittens. The male human kept getting closer and closer. The cat hissed. The man didn't mind. He crouched down a put down a hot dog on the ground. Then he left. The cat watched him go inside the house right in front of her where the dog lived.

She sniffed the food then ate it. This happened almost every day until one day the human saw her babies. He immediately took the babies and the mother inside. The cat looked around in curiosity. She was placed in a room on a little bed. She really trusted the man. She was given some round things in a bowl.

"Thank you", she said even if she knew the human wouldn't understand her.

She purred and nudged him. He petted her and then left the room.

"BAM" went the door as he left.

Then she noticed a flap in the door. All of a sudden a dog burst into the room through the flap.

She fluffed up and started hissing at him. The owner wasn't in the room.

"Woah, calm down, I just want to be friends with you!" said the dog who looked young. He was a white Pomeranian boy.

"Really? Well, when I was young I heard many stories of evil dogs who killed cats by lying to them! GET OUT!" shouted the cat.

The dog was surprised. "Okay fine, but I hope you will like me better once you get used to me. My name is Snowy and my owner's name is... Alex, I believe."

"WHAT! You are owned!" said the cat with disbelief.

"It's a normal thing. And plus, he is a really kind man and he always feeds and plays with me outside. It's more like we are friends and he is unable to hear, '' explained Snowy.

"I see... I will get to know you better but only after my kittens open their eyes," replied the cat starting to trust the dog.

"Okay then," the dog cheered, "Can you tell me your name please?"
