⤝Chapter four⤞

She woke up in the early morning. Everywhere was wet even the hole she was sleeping in. She was freezing and shivering. She wasn't that wet but she was wet. She stood up then fell down. She was so hungry and weak that she couldn't even get up.

"Mom was right, *sniff* *sniff* I didn't know what it was like living in the wild!" she said out loud, crying. She cried for a while then got up. She walked further with all of her might. From far away, she could hear gushing water. She ran to it but stopped. She thought, if she hadn't heard the water while running away, then she must have been traveling the opposite way she came from. This meant she went really far into the forest, away from home. She turned away from the water and started heading to her home. Then her stomach rumbled saying 'HELLO AT LEAST GET A SIP OF WATER!' She turned back to the water and walked until she came to a rushing river. She fell to the ground and started drinking as much water as she could. Then a little fish flew out of the air and landed on the ground right in front of her. She was shocked.

'Could this be a sign?'

She quickly smelled the fish and then ate it in two bites. It tasted so good. It was her first time to taste something raw. After a while, she felt nauseous.

'I think I drank too much water'

She rested near the river. She could hear roaring waters and then a loud *CRACK* behind her. She spun around thinking it was the wolves again. When she looked, It was much, much ...worse.

She screamed in horror as she saw a massive bear with some fish in its mouth. She dashed only looked back at the bear and not in front of her. She felt something hard and looked in front of her to see herself flying into the rushing waters fo the river. She screamed and cried. All that poor baby kitten could do was cry for her mother and she slowly drowned. She felt her eyes shut.

"Are you okay?" She heard a bold voice say.

She opened her eyes. They felt so heavy. She looked to see a huge and yes when I mean huge I mean MASSIVE bear in front of her. Penny didn't even have the strength to speak or move.

"Can you hear me?" asked the bear with his bold voice.

"Yeah..." she managed to whisper.

Penny managed to get up. She looked around her surroundings and figured she was on the bear's hand and they had come to about where the river settles down.

"Uh- umm what happened?" She asked.

The bear didn't answer and just put a little piece of fish into her mouth. Penny was confused but then ate the fish.

"You should tell me what happened. All I saw was you dash into the water and nearly drown so I grabbed you out of the water. Did you try to kill yourself?" explained the bear.

Penny giggled, "I guess I was a bit scared of your... umm height."

"It's okay it happens. Especially if you are only this tiny, I might look massive."

"What's your name?"

"My name is Henry"

There was a silence. Then the bear spoke.

"So exactly how did you end up here? I can see you are a housepet by your collar," asked the bear.

"Well, ..." she trailed off, "It was a normal day at home but my mom told me that she was wild and I was a wild cat. I really loved going outside so after she said that I really thought I belonged in the forest. So I ran away. Soon wolves started chasing me and I already felt that the wild was dangerous. I met a bunny who helped me but when it was time to eat he was so mean and shooed me out. I felt so left out in the world. Like nobody liked me but more like I didn't have a place in the world. And so the bunny told me that cats eat bunnies and he told me to get lost. I never had known that before and so I ran away and I kept running until the sky became very dark. I slept on the ground and then it started raining so I found a shelter. In the morning I was still very cold and wet. I felt so sad and empty and I really wanted to go back home. I missed my siblings and my big brother Snowy. I saw the river so I was drinking from it until I saw you and here I am," she said lightly tearing.

"Oh... Well, I have some advice on how to live in the wild. Always check for scent, you can't just really on your hearing. All ways remember where you walk and what you saw. And my river is always welcome to you. Just give me a whistle and I will come to help you if you need. And I know where a town where people live. You will have to go south and pass a yellow stone, afterward, you will come to the Yellow Leaf Forest and keep going south until you see houses. But the choice is yours if you want to stay in the forest or go back home where I think it is safer for you. Oh and one thing, if you ever go near or even see a tree with a big hole in it that is covered by flowers and vines, ... you better run, because they will be coming for you." said the bear.

Penny gulped for she had even slept in that tree with flowers and vines.

"Umm, thanks for the advice and umm are the vines and flowers rusty and old?" She asked.

"Don't tell me you passed it... If it's old that means it was their old nest but if it is fresh flowers than mean they live there." He said.

Penny sigh, "but exactly who...lives there?"

"Top secret I cannot tell you" he replied.

"I've made up I mind and thank you for everything," she said taking off her collar and wrapping it around the bear's finger, "Let this be a memory or thanks from me."

She leaped off the bear's hand, then bowed. The bear hugged her and waved goodbye as Penny swiftly ran along the forest constantly looking back behind at the bear.

'And I know where a town where people live. You will have to go south and pass a yellow stone, afterward, you will come to the Yellow Leaf Forest and keep going south until you see houses.'

Penny remembered what the bear said and started walking her way to the South but then she stopped. She sat and decided to think about it.

'some advice on how to live in the wild. Always check for scent, you can't just really on your hearing. All ways remember where you walk and what you saw. And my river is always welcome to you.'

She turned to the North and started walking. She walked a lot until she found a mouse that was dying.

"Aw are you okay? What happened to you young fellow?"

The mouse looked at her confused.

"If you are making fun of me, please stop and eat me quickly so that I don't feel much pain before dying," It replied.

Penny was shocked. "What! Eat you why would I?"

Then she remembered that wild cats eat small animals. She hesitated but then didn't want the mouse to slowly die in pain, instead if she ate it, it would die quicker. She gulped down. She felt weird but it tasted good.

She kept walking. She heard a flash run by her. She quickly flashed back but there was nothing. She looked around her, her eyes focusing hard. Then she spotted a leaf swaying. She hopped over to the leaf that belonged to a bush. She slowly looked over the bush and *CRUSH*
