Chapter 3: Diagon Ally?
Fiji's P.O.V
I woke to someone shaking me violently.
"Get up! Get up you little-"
I tuned out the rest of that sentence. I looked up to see someone standing over me, their wand in their right hand. He grabbed me and put me on my feet.
He looked at me with a look of disgust. "Get ready, we are going on a little trip," he practically yelled in my ear. I stood up so I could "get ready".
My "getting reading" consisted of changing into different clothes( which were normal laying right outside the bars of my cell) and washing myself using a provided bucket of water.
After I was "ready", I was taken down to the so-called kitchen. When we arrived a few death eaters were standing there, wands at the ready.
Some people scowled as I entered, others just ignored me, and one kicked me as I walked in.
"We are going to Diagonal Ally to get some supplies." Before I could say anything I was cut off. " You will behave and ask no questions whatsoever. We are leaving in a few minutes."
The person speaking left the room. Someone that was right next to him handed me a letter, not even bothering to say anything.
I looked at the letter, knowing what it was. I opened my Hogwarts letter with caution, not really knowing what will happen.
Inside there were two folded pieces of parchment. I opened the first one. Inside was written that I had been accepted at Hogwarts and that I would have to reply to the letter.
Suddenly, both pieces of parchment were ripped from my hands. The death eater that grabbed them look at her with a look of 'you will obey me and not ask questions' plastered on his face. I decided not to ask about how I would reply to the letter. That would probably earn me a beating and a week without food for questioning one of them.
Someone else walked in the room and said that it was time to go. Before we left, someone grabbed me painfully by the arm and whispered in my ear.
"You do anything to cause attention to yourself or us, you will regret it later. I can make you beg for death. Do you understand me?"
I nodded my head and whispered yes. The last time someone told me that, I had regretted it. It was pain beyond pain. It hurts to just think about it.
Next thing I know, I'm in a fireplace getting ready to floo to Knockturn Ally. From there we would head to Diagonal Ally.
Knockturn Alley was quite dark. I had to squint at the lack of light before my eyes adjusted. Next thing I know we are in Diagon Alley.
A death eater was pulling me by the arm, making sure that it was completely blind to the other people around them. They lead me to a shop of clothing. I guess this is where I'm getting my robes. Someone forced a small pouch of money into my hand and pushed me into the store.
The store was quite empty at the time, except for the few people who were standing around waiting to pay. A women walked up to me and lead my to an open area.
"Hogwarts, dear?"
I nodded my head. The less I spoke the less pain I would be in later.
I stood there for awhile while she measured me and used an enchanted needle to make the robes fit to perfection.
I had to wait 10 minutes for my robes to be ready. When they were, I took the parcel and left. When I walked outside, only one of my "escorts" was standing there. I assumed everyone else went to go get other things.
Next we arrived at a shop called Ollivander's. A wand shop! Was I really going to get my own wand?
Before we entered, I felt a sharp poke from a wand near my torso. I looked down to see a wand pointing threateningly at me.
"Anything to draw attention to yourself, and I mean anything, I will pull you out of the store, take you back to the house, torture you till you pass out, and you can forget about going anywhere for the rest of your life. Do you understand?" He said in a surprisingly calm voice. Fear filled me, though I tried not to show it. I really didn't want to make anyone mad again,so I nodded. He must have seen the fear on my face because he pushed me through the doors of the store.
When I entered my mouth opened in awe. The store was quite messy, with shelves apron shelves on long, skinny boxes. I looked around, but couldn't see anyone.
"Come to get your wand then?" I heard a raspy voice say. I was still shaking from what the death eater had said to me outside, so hearing the voice didn't help with my jumpiness(is that even a word? Idk).
I spotted a man coming out from the stacks of shelves. He had a wrinkly face and grey hair( sorry I suck at descriptions). He looked at me with curiosity.
"Y-yes," I replied. The man walked over to me. He looked like he was trying to find something in me, and then his eyes widened with realization. I tensed up. What if he knows something about me and starts questioning me?
Thankfully, that didn't happen.
He walked over to a shelf and started pulling some of the boxes off of it.
You know, everyone believes you to be dead," he said while looking at the boxes of wands in his arms. I look at him, my face going pale. I must have looked really frightened because next he said, " Don't worry, everyone has secrets, I won't tell."
But that doesn't change that fact that he knew. The last time someone found out about me, well, let's just say they never spoke a word about me again.
What he said made me only tense up even more. If anyone found out that he knew about me, he would be killed. I was gonna warm him, but I glanced over at the window, seeing someone looking through the window. He held his wand up a little just so the tip of it was visible to me. I knew what that meant. It meant that if I didn't shut up I would get it later.
I looked back over at the storekeeper, who I believed was Mr. Ollivander. He started speaking. I could only pray that the person watching over me couldn't hear.
"I remember when I gave your parents there wands. So tragic, what happened to them."
Ok, now I was curious. What was so special of my parents' death? A lot of people be killed during the first wizarding war, she didn't think that her parents' death was so different than anyone else's.
She must've looked confused because Mr. Ollivander gave her a confused look as well before he dismisses it and started reaching for one of the boxes.
He handed me a wooden stick. This one looked quite plain. It was just a straight brown stick.
He told me to wave it, but before I even moved, a mirror cracked right where the wand was pointing.
He snatched the wand out of my hand and gave me another one.
About sixty wands later he went back to grab another box, muttering under his breath. He came back with a long, royal blue box with patterns on the lid that reminded me of palace walls.
Before he even opened the box, I knew this was the one. It just felt right!
The wand was stunning, unlike any other wand she's seen.
It was a pretty skinny wand. It was a lightly colored piece of wood with gold vine- like pieces weaving around the wand. In between the weavings were white, blue, and purple crystals. The whole thing looked like it was right out of a movie.
He handed me the wand and as soon as my fingers touched it I felt my whole body warm up. It was the most amazing feeling in the world. It felt like my body was being wrapped in a warm blanket. I felt calm. I felt safe. Two feelings I had never experienced before. A few seconds later, Mr Ollivander started telling me about the wand.
This one has been looking for an owner for a very long time. This wand consists of multiple kinds of wood, ranging for hazel to cherry wood. The core is sort of a mystery. Multiple cores lie in this wand. It's 11 inches in size."
After Mr. Ollivander finished, I was still in awe of the wand. I managed to spit out "How much?"
After paying 12 galleons, I put the wand back in its case. The wand ended up having its own wrist holster. I put the leathery holster on my right wrist before heading out of the store. All the way while walking out, I felt like I was being watched, but I didn't look back. As soon as I stepped out of the store, I was grabbed. We walked away from the store and arrived back in Knockturn Alley. We headed back to the house without another word.
