I woke up sore and tired on my bed and the last thing I remember was Ashton running wildly before I blacked out.

Great, I must I have must have been tranquilized.

Adrian or Nate must have followed me and brought me back.

I hated being tranquilized. It makes me less active and sometimes causes me a migraine.

I reached out for my pills, that I always kept just Incase of some things like these, after taking it, i rested on the bed a little bit longer knowing if I were to stand up I would have a migraine.

I laided on the bed for thirty minutes, before getting dressed and heading to the office.

"Lucas, your up already" Nate waves at me the moment I come down the stairs. Every one was already out of the house.

"Didn't wanna be on the bed" I replied, heading to the kitchen for a drink.

"Your sister came to check on you" Nate tells me as I jug down the water. "Yeah so?" I paused to rest on the island.

"She said she heard your growls and thought you had- you know" he sighs. "I told her that she shouldn't worry that you're fine"

"Good" I sighed. "Any news from Adrian" I changed the subject.

Nate went silent and I turned to look back at him. "Well?" He bent his head a bit and sighs. "What's going on Nate?" My heart, speeding up.

"They are still searching" he half smiles

I grunt frustrated, Ashton still hasn't surfaced yet, so it was easy to control my anger.

"Yeah so erm. What about the meeting you're supposed to attend with Alpha Jacob from the West forest pack" he reminds me making me fist my hands "seriously! Do I have to"

"Well you already planned to have it two weeks ago, so yeah, you have too" he points out.

Alpha Jacob was one of our neighbouring parks and a pack friend, though I don't like having visitors, he's the one I'm less pissed off to have over.

"Now go get your ass ready" I glared at him "I mean Alpha" he chuckled nervously

I rolled my eyes and headed to go change since the meeting was by noon today. That way I was able to get some work done before he arrives.

It took me an hour to be able to finish up before I had to take my meds again, I could Ashton slowly becoming conscious.

"Lucas, Jacob's here" Nate informs me over the phone "let him in" I replied. I adjust my tie, feeling like it was suffocating me, then ripping it off me.

"What the..."

"Alpha Lucas?" I look up, getting rid of the uncomfortable weird feeling and cleared my throat. "Yes come in"

"Good morning Alpha Lucas" Jacob greeted. Oh how I wish it was actually a good morning.

"Yes...same. Please sit" I guestured towards the chair in front of my desk. He took his seat and I sat opposite him.

"It is nice to see you again. It's been a while huh?" He smiled. "It has... hasn't it?" I replied suddenly to feel a sharp pain coming from my lungs, what the heck?!

Ashton must be waking up.

"Al- are you okay?" Jacob asks. "I'm fine" I force out. "Tell me is anything wrong or is there something wrong?" I changed the subject.

He looked at me concerned "I thought I could help you out with the upcoming event since so nice to u-"

"Jacob" I pause him "look I know you wanna help but it's my duty to handle this so you didn't need do all these okay?" Though we're both of the same age Jacob genuinely had respect for which I felt I didn't deserve.

"But... c'mon-"

"I know. But I can't you should take care of your own pack" I tried to convince him to leave

"You know i-"

"Alpha!" I heard Adrian call over the link.
"The scent! We were able to track it...in the dark misty pack"  i feel my mind instantly spin.

"Mate? They found mate?" Ashton groggily asks me "yes and she's in the dark misty pack" I tell him.

And that was all it took to dash down the doors and towards the woods without a second thought.

"Adrian, surround the grounds and infuriates it decreetly. I'm on my way!"

"You got it"

"Nate get me backup and head to dark misty pack now"

"Okay, On my way"

I felt my heart race nervously, having to finally meet my mate after all this time.

I ran as fast as I could before letting Ashton take over, following the faint scent lingering in the air, the burning urge to find our mate.

Normally it would take a whole day to reach the misty pack but I could make it within hours, I know a short cut

I run, my heart beating, my head spiraling, my muscles tighten, my anger growing, my thoughts imagining otherwise.

No, I need to focus. Mate is in danger and if it means for me to kill Damian to get to her, I will.

Hours pass but I don't stop I'm closer, Adrian and Daphne's scent are getting stronger. And for Ashton it means we're getting closer to our mate.

"Mate...(shiff)... is closer" Ashton shiffs the air. "Lucas where are you?" Adrian links me.
"I'm almost there!"  I panted

"We were able to get rid of some of the guards, but they got reinforcement".

"Lie low for now Nate is coming with back up. And I'm almost there, you're scent is getting stronger" I told him.

"Okay. See you then"

I ran faster, I need to get there, I need too.

"Mate....mate needs us" Ashton pants. He had to take a little break to breathe before he continued. It didn't take long before we could see the mist coming from the forest.

Ashton stopped running and cautiously walked in shiffing the air for any trace of rogues or other wolves. Fortunately we picked up Adrian's scent and followed it running towards it.

"Adrian" I looked around searching for him

"Lucas over here" I turned around to see him coming out from behind a tree. "We were able get rid of some guards but they got more guards. It seems there's some kind of underground bunker and Daphne was able to pickup a strong scent from there"

"Mate! That's mate!"  Ashton was livid now. He could smell the scent as well, it became stronger. I let him take full control making it easier not to care and get to our mate faster.

He growled loudly announcing his presence and his anger before dashing into the mist.

Blood was everywhere.

All I could see was blood.

Ashton immediately runs down into the bunker. The scent almost everywhere "she's here. She's h-"

"Lucas!" I stopped, I knew that voice.

"Damian!" Ashton growls angrily. Without a second thought we charged at him pushing him over and ripping his hand off. He's cries in pain at the unexpected attack, but I don't stop there I bite down at his rips and piecesed it.

Ashton was out of control, he saw Damian dead but wanted more. When he had finally had enough we raced through the halls following our mate's scent.

Untill I came across a bolted door, Ashton finally allows me to transform to open the door. The scent immediately hits me like a slap in the face, she's here.

I rushed down the stairs but only to see more guards rushing towards me, making me growl loudly. The place was like a dungeon with fire stick hanged on the walls.

I rip the guards off me crushing them as I flingged them aside.

I walked to the last cell and what I saw made my heart drop. I saw my mate lying lifeless by the corner of the cell, her body stained and dirty, her cell smelling like rotten meat.

I rip open the cell and rushed to her. "No, no, no. Please no!" I cried. She was barely even clothed, her face looked so pale and dehydrated, her hair dirty, "no please don't leave. Baby I just found you I can't lose you now. Please" I pleaded holding her close to me, her faint breathes giving me small hope.

I carried her bridal style out of the cell, the walls crumpling above us, fire slowly burning the bodies on the floor.

"Luca- oh my goodness!" I heard Daphne gasp but I pay no attention.

My mate is the only thing on my mind right now.
