IRIS

When I finally confessed my intentions to be marked, Lucas wanted to be certain about it.

"You want my mark" he says repeating what I had just said.

I looked at him with all certainty grabbing his cheeks connecting our heads together "Yes. I want you to mark me" after Lucas had told me there were more things ahead of me and I feel every step I've taken was because of him and the only person stopping me from being better was me.

His eyes flashed golden and i knew Ashton had heard me too, he first brushed back my hair then pulled me into a slow sensual kiss, he wasn't in a rush, it was like he was savoring the moment and wanted me to feel what he felt for me.

Since my hands were loose I unbuttoned my shirt while he just watched me, scanning me for any hesitation but I didn't hesitate I wanted this. Suddenly it was like something clicked in him and he's immediately pressed against me and kissing me while his hands roamed my body, all thoughts of today were thrown at the window when he started sniffing in my scent from my neck.

I had to hold on his shoulders cause I don't think I was in my right senses again, his lips went from my jaw to my coral bone and somewhere there when he found a soft spot i gasped loudly "found it" I heard he whisper then he came back and kissed me again cupping one of my boobs through my bra top.

"It might hurt" he breathes and goes back to my neck to my soft spot and after kissing and licking it, I felt a sharp pain. I wanted to scream but I couldn't my breath was held in my throat, I felt my hands clawing at Lucas's back as the pain increased.
The pain soon subsided and it was like there was a tingling feeling flowing through my body and I felt a new surge of energy through me.

I sighed as I felt the pain reduce and Lucas let go and licked it one more time.

"You did good love" he kissed my head smiling at me. "How do you feel?" He asked

I looked up at him, speechless of what to say, the feeling was...new. It was like there's a new surge of energy in me, my heart was beating faster way faster than expected, looking up at Lucas who was still waiting for my answer I placed my hand on his chest and surprised when it was beating at the same pace as mine.

"You feel it?" He cups my hand on his chest "the mark...it connects us as mates, so you can feel what I feel and you can tell how fast my heart is beating, it cause how happy I am..."

"And how much I love you" he completes, and he wasn't lying, he never had about that

"I feel- I feel- i-" I stammered finding the words to say, my heart was speeding up saying it "I feel like I've a new heart pumping in me" I smiled and Lucas chuckles then sighs "so what about that breakfast we talked about" he smirked. My smile grew and I nodded like a child, Lucas chuckled and kissed me before setting me down to go prepare breakfast.

"I'll help!" I insisted and came over with him while I button my shirt

"Okay baby"

I helped with mixing the dough and tasted a few ingredients, played a bit and even sang songs. It was actually a very lovely morning.

"You know we can shift the pre coronation rehearsal for tomorrow" Lucas kisses my cheek from behind me "and spend today together, hmm?"

I chuckled at his baby pout "didn't you say we have to do it today?" I teased and he sighs "yeah...but we don't have to do anything today" he groans

Turning around to face him, I hold his cheeks in my hands "yeah we can do that but...we won't cause I have a Luna coronation to attend" Lucas smirks "you know we could just do a luna coronation right now...just us instead of with the others" he tried to convince me.

"Well, that would be a better actually..."

"Yeah"

"But. Someone has to be with you when you go out, and who can do that other than your Luna. So I'll do it to show everyone who's your Luna" Lucas eyes widened and I felt my heartbeat speed up "if there was any other word to express how I feel right now, it would be so much easier" he groans and starts to do random kisses on me making me laugh.

"Hey Iris!" Christie called, she was with Daphne and Nate walking in on us

"Hey guys" I replied and wanted to go over to meet them but Lucas wouldn't let go of me

Everyone freezes seeing Lucas and Lucas  being Lucas didn't care and continued to snuggle in the crook of my neck where my mark is.

One thing I've known Lucas for is his possessiveness, he doesn't mess around with what's his.

"Morning Alpha. Morning Luna" Christie bows as she sees Lucas, she was shaking, Lucas broad figure could really freak a girl out. I tried to get her to stand but no use and Lucas didn't even spare her a glance

"Ermm...I'm gonna go upstairs and change okay, you guys there are some breakfast on the counter, I'll be-"

"But I made them for you" Lucas raised his head from my neck his voice upset, I was utterly confused and  speechless. "Fine... uhh, you guys treat yourself to some snacks in the fridge okay? I'll take these with me"

"I'll help.." Christie suggested but Lucas growls lowly at her and she froze probably more panicked than before.

I turned to glare at Lucas but he had an innocent face on, so I huffed and left him and went upstairs, he followed me and collected the plates I was holding I thanked him but still huffed walking upstairs.

When we got to our room I shut the door and went into the bathroom, who knew Lucas could be so childish.

"Baby?" Lucas knocked on the bathroom door

"Yeah" I sighed.

"You need to eat first before you shower or it'll get cold" is he seriously not gotta say anything about what he did just now?

"Yeah okay" I shrugged and went to seat next to the window where there was a view of the forest and ate my breakfast.

Lucas came and sat down next to me looking at me "you're not happy" he pointed out, I glanced at him then back to my food despite being upset at him I was enjoying the meal he prepared.

"Everything okay?"

"...."

"Baby please talk to me" he admitted holding my hand, i turned to look at him.

"You scared Christie" I said immediately pouting angrily at him. "She was already shaking when she saw you but you just had to growl at her" I scoffed. He remained silent as I rant on about it.

"That's my new friend and this is the first impression you give her?" I frowned, Christie was a friend that met on one of my shopping spree with Daphne, though we met for a short while I could tell she was a good person, so sometimes when we go out Daphne would invite her on my behalf but when she found out I was the mate of her Alpha, she was a big scared but still was my friend and I want to keep someone like her.

"What do you want me to do?"

"I...I don't know just do something that will make her think you don't hate her okay?" I told him "I'm gonna go change" I sigh leaving to go shower.

A few minutes in I was all changed and was ready to leave, in my usual baggy top, scandals and jeans with my hair packed up. When I came out Lucas was sitting on the chair where I left him "you ready?"

"Yeah" he comes up to me and held my hand "I'll make it up to you okay?" He assured, and I reluctantly nodded, what's the point of being angry at him anyway?

We went downstairs to where everyone was still waiting, "I'm back guys!" I smiled walking up to them, Christie smiled but immediately jolted seeing Lucas behind me, she frigeted but I held her hand to look at me.

"It's okay. Alright"

"You scared the hell outta her man" Nate comments, I scowl at him making him shut up, then look over at Lucas wondering how he gonna handle this.

He comes up to me and looks at Christie, who is visibly shaking in my hands "Christie right?"

"Yes alpha" She replied

"Raise your head"

She did so hesitantly "don't fret I don't despise you. I'm only possessive of what's mine and this woman here is my mate and she's mine, so don't misunderstand it as hatred" he said blankly but from the mark I could tell he meant everything he just said.

Everyone was silent, Christie was surprised

This wouldn't the best time to run over to him and hug him so I just smiled at him to hug my urges.

"Does this make you happy?" He asks and I nodded

"Can we go now? We have a lot of work to do" Daphne groans annoyed.

I chuckled at her "alright already let's go" we all started to leave but I stayed back to talk to Lucas.

"You did good" I said smiling at him then hugged him kissing him on the cheek "I'll miss you" he whispered to me. As much as I wanted him to come with me I knew he had his own share of work to do for the coronation, plus Christie would be nervous about having him around.

I chuckled "I'll miss you more" I admitted before letting him go

"Bye" I waved
