Chapter 5
Raven POV
"Bye Mom." Ruby said as she hugged me, "Bye Ruby doll. Remember what I taught you." I said, "Homework is for teacher's pets and nerds?" She said, "No, well yes, but what I meant was your greatest strength is your sister...and that there is nothing wrong with coming home. I honestly do not believe you're ready for this yet." I said, "YOU NEVER BELIEVED IN MY DREAMS! THIS IS MUSICAL THEATER ALL OVER AGAIN!" She said, "Get out of here kiddo." I said as I ruffled her hair and pushed her slightly, "Bye Mom. Come on (y/n)." Yang said, "No." I said, "What?" She said, "Yang I know how hectic the first week can be so I'll watch him for you just this once until you get a handle on things." I said, "Trust me you'll be happy that you don't have to look after a toddler." I said, "Alright thanks, Mom." She said before she boarded the bullhead. "Well, kiddo looks like you'll be staying with Grandma for a while." I said, "Gamma play?" (y/n) asked, "Sure sweetie, we can play when we get home." I said as I picked him up. "Now say bye-bye to Mama." I said as I made him wave to Yang, "Bye sweetie! I'll see you soon!" Yang said as the bullhead doors began to close. "Ok, sweetie let's go home." I said as the bullhead took off.
"Play!" (y/n) said, "Sorry sweetie, not now. Grandma has chores to do." I said, "PLAY!" he demanded as he jumped into the laundry basket, "(Y/N)! NOT NOW!" I scalded making him cry, "Somehow you inherited your mother's rowdiness and her tendency to cry after being yelled at despite not being related by blood." I said, "Look sweetie, I'm sorry, but I have lots of chores to do today and with the girls gone it's best for me to keep busy." I said, "I'm sorry for yelling. It's all I can do to keep my emotions in check. I can't let anyone see me cry, not after her death." I said, "(y/n) I wanna take you somewhere special." I said.
"PLAY!" (y/n) said happily, "No sweetie. This is a very special place. No one is allowed to play here." I said as we approached Summer's grave. "Ruby's mother died a long time ago, I took her in and raised her as my own daughter. She was my teammate and my best friend." I said, "Gamma sad?" He asked, "Yes, Grandma is very sad, but Grandma is strong enough to be able to conceal her emotions." I said.
