Several years ago Yang POV

"Sissy, I don't think this is a good idea." Ruby said as she pulled her hat up over her eyes, "Oh come on Ruby! We're just baking a cake." I said, "B-But if we make a mess Mama's gonna be mad and yell at us again." She said, "Then let her yell!" I said happily as I began to stir the batter. "WE'RE GONNA MAKE THE BEST BIRTHDAY CAKE EVER!" I said happily.

Raven POV

"They're up to something." I said, suddenly I heard Yang and Ruby scream from downstairs. "girls!" I shouted as I sprinted downstairs and into the kitchen and found them covered in cake batter. "YANG MADE ME DO IT, MAMA!" Ruby shouted as she pointed at Yang, "TRAITOR!" Yang said, I looked around and saw that they made a huge mess of the kitchen, "Girls." I said, "Here it comes!" Yang said in fear, "The mop is in the closet. I expect this kitchen to be spotless by the time I come check on you." I said, "Mama." Ruby said as she walked over to me, "Happy birthday, Mama." She said sweetly as she handed me a picture she drew, "Thank you, sweetie." I said as I picked her up and kissed her cheek, "Let's get you cleaned up then you can help your sister clean up, "NOT FAIR!" Yang said.

Present-day Yang POV

"Yang no!" Ruby said, "Now I know what you're thinking, but hear me out. This time we have a (y/n), there's no way she can stay mad at him!" I said as I held (y/n) up, "What are you two doing?" Mom said, "N-NOTHING!" I said in fear, "You know you're not allowed in the kitchen on my birthday after what happened last time." She said, "Mother I have no idea what you're talking about." I said, "(y/n) sweetie come here, you're gonna spend the day with Grandma." She said as (y/n) jumped out of my arms and ran over to her, "Now you can't use him against me." She said as she picked (y/n) up and left, "Whelp we lost our (y/n) looks like we're gonna go with plan B right?" Ruby said hopefully, "No! I will not be beaten by her!" I said making her sigh, "I'll get the mop ready." She said as she left.

Raven POV

"Ok sweetie, you can play while I do some laundry." I said as I sat the laundry basket down, "Oh, (y/n) before I get started can you go get your dirty clothes out of your room please." I said as I turned around and found he was gone, "Ok where did you go." I said worriedly, "(y/n) sweetie! Come on out! You're scaring Grandma." I said, "BOO!" (y/n) said happily as he popped out of the laundry basket with one of my bras on his head. "There you! You scared Grandma." I said as I picked him up, "Now go get your dirty clothes." I said as I kissed his cheek.

(y/n) POV

"YANG NO! GUNPOWDER ISN'T A SUBSTITUTE FOR SUGAR!" Auntie Ruby shouted, "WE WON'T KNOW UNTIL WE TRY RUBY!" Mama said, "YOU SAID THE SAID THE SAME ABOUT THE PIPE BOMB WHEN WE WERE KIDS!" Auntie shouted, I walked upstairs to my room and got my dirty clothes.

"Good boy, and did you see what your mom and aunt are doing?" Gamma asked, "Pipebomb cake!" I said, "WHAT?!" She said, "Oh wait you're talking about the cake Yang tried to make when she was seven. I'm still mad at Qrow for giving Ruby that. I mean what idiot gives a five-year-old something like that!" She said as I began to climb into the dryer, "Get out of there goofball." She said as she pulled me out of the dryer, "LAUNDRY COOKIE!" I said as I held up one of Auntie's giant cookies, "Nope, I'm not letting you have that." Gamma said as she took the cookie away and threw it at the trashcan, but she missed and it lodged itself in the concrete floor, "How stale was that to have that kind of effect?!" She said, "Laundry cookie." I said sadly, "How about we bake some fresh cookies later, how does that sound?" She said making me smile.

Raven POV

"Ok, kiddo let's go check on my daughters." I said as we went upstairs, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!" Ruby and Yang said happily. "Thank you, girls, but Ruby don't you have a test to get done before you have to leave for Beacon?" I said, "No, what test? I DIDN'T STUDY FOR THIS SECRET TEST!" Ruby said, "Relax this is a test I set up for you. All you have to do is win a fight in front of the entire student body of Signal." I said, "Against you?" She said, "No." I said.

"You'll be fighting him." I said as we entered the arena.

"MAGIC KID?! Mom, he's almost as bad as Space Kid!" Ruby complained, "His name is Jack, and you'll be surprised hun." I said, "Ladies and gents, it's about to get crazy. So sit." Jack said.

Ruby POV

"Pick a card, any card." Jack said as I drew my scythe, "I'm gonna end this quickly!" I said as I shot at him, suddenly he threw a card and cut my bullet in half, "Is that your card?" He said, "HOW AND WHY?!" I said as I continued to fire at him but he just threw more cards, "WHO WANT'S TO SEE A NEW TRICK?" He said causing the crowd to cheer, "AS YOU WISH!" He said as he made a blade out of his cards. He ran at me  and as I dodged out of the way he stabbed me in the back and his blade fell apart, "What the? I didn't know you wore armor under that stupid cape." He said, "YOU KILLED CAPE COOKIE! AND YOU PUT A HOLE IN MY FAVORITE CAPE!" I shouted angrily as I shot at him four times, suddenly he caught the bullets midair.

Raven POV

"WHAT AND HOW?!" Yang said, "Aura extension. I pitted Ruby up against a true prodigy." I said, "Hey Mom, where's (y/n)?" She asked, "I thought he was sitting on your lap?" I said, "No I sat him down for a second." She said, "(Y/N)?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING DOWN HERE?!" Ruby shouted, "WHAT AND HOW?!" Yang and I shouted as a playing card landed at our feet.

Ruby POV

"You know Ruby there's a lot more riding on this match than what Mis. Branwen told you. If you lose then I'll be the one going to Beacon and not you!" Jack said as he twirled my bullets around, "EEP!" I said as I grabbed (y/n) and ran around the arena, "Dizzy." (y/n) said as I stopped running, "That gives me an idea!" I said, "Close your eyes and try not to puke!" I said as I ran around Jack creating a tornado of rose petals around him, "Dizzy!" Jack said as I stopped running, I sat (y/n) down and placed the barrel of my gun on Jack's chest, "You come here today, on the day of my mother's birth and you try to kill my nephew and take my place at Beacon." I said, "I regret nothing." Jack said, "I was hoping you'd say that." I said as I shot him.

Raven POV

"You did great sweetie." I said as I hugged Ruby, "Thanks, Mom." Ruby said, "Now let's go home. I've been waiting all day to have the cake I bought." I said as we got into the car and drove home, "(y/n) you alright? You don't look so good." Ruby said, suddenly I heard (y/n) puke, "OH FOR THE LOVE OF THE GREAT COOKIE GODS, MOM PULL OVER! OH ITS EVERYWHERE!" Ruby shouted. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Man my skirt's ruined!" Ruby said, "It'll wash out Ruby." I said as I walked into the kitchen and looked for the cake I bought, "WHAT DID YOU GIRLS DO WITH MY CAKE!" I said, "CHEEZE IT!" Ruby shouted, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAMMA!" (y/n) said as he hugged me, "Thank you, sweetie." I said.
