(fun chapter) (after Crutchy gets taken, this will take place when jack and Davey go to the refuge to talk to Crutchy, and were going to pretend it's a Saturday.)

It was Nine at night and victory was on his way to Tibby's Restaurant and bar like he had promised the owner the other day. As he walks in the door chimes getting the attention of others. Those who recognizes him greets him as he walks towards the counter where the owner Tiddy was waiting at.

"Hey victory "He greets the younger boy as the man behind the counter names john hands him just a class of water r this time. "Hey Tiddy you ready?" Victory asks before gulping down his class in one sip. "You know it.

-----------

After he greets everyone and chats with them Victory sits on the piano in the corner of the room, with a mike and a harmonica on a stand.

Victory starts to play the piano as people's attention goes from their drinks to the boy who starts to play both the harmonica and the piona. What victory didn't know was that Deaton had remembered he'd be here the other day so he wanted to watch so now he's sitting in a booth far enough he can't be seen by victory but close enough to be able to hear the boy.

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
the regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin

He smiles at the man by where he's sitting before, he plays his instruments

He says, "son, can you play me a memory?
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes"

More people look towards victory taking in the music.

La la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright

Denton has heard the younger boy sing before but he's still total mesmerized by him each time.

Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be

He says, "Vic, I believe this is killing me"
As a smile ran away from his face
"Well, I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place"

John smiles a little remembering his conversation with victory weeks prior.

La la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talking with Davy, who's still in the Navy
And probably will be for life

Both men raise their glass at victory. Denton smiles as he notices they must be used to him singing.

And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinking alone

Despite the words of the song, they both smile at the boy who gives a node in acknowledgment

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright

Tiddy smiles at victory has he goes past the piona to a waiting table.

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been coming to see
To forget about life for a while

And the piano sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say, "Man what are you doing here?"

Many of costumers and worker have told him that thinking with his voice and his skills he could be somewhere else using that talent instead of here handing out newspapers

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright

As the song comes to an end, he finishes it up playing the piona and harmonica.

-----

Everyone cheers at the boy all happy to hear him sing again. People know he's always there at that point of time.so they take time out of their day to see whatever song hell sing or play. Everyone goes back to what they were doing as victory walks to the bar and takes a seat.

John like always hands him a drink this time a cup of alcohol to which victory says thanks and sips from. Tiddy comes out of the kitchen and as he passed the bar he slides a plate of food to victory.

Victory puts down the drink to grab his sandwich to which he takes big bites from hunger from all the fighting. Denton joins him at the bar victory not noticing him to focus on his food. Victory looks up as John asks Denton what he wants before he goes to make it.

"What are you doing here don't you have a newspape to write?" Victory asks the Olderman taking a bite out of his sandwich.

"Yeah, but I'm taking a break." "Thank you" Denton takes a sip from his drink John gave him.

"At a bar?"

"Yeah"

"You're really good at what you do." Denton complements really meaning it. Victory looks at the man studying his face which makes Denton flustered but doesn't look away. John raises an eyebrow at the two that are still holding eye contact before he smiles and looks away back to his own business

"Thanks" They sit in silence had Denton finishes his drink as victory finishes his sandwich.

"Do you normally sing here on Saturdays?" Denton ask before Victory can answer the owner makes his way towards them.

"Normally after he wants something from me like a shower this is his payment." Tiddy jokes making Denton smile.

"He's got some talent, don't he?" Tiddy states making Denton node.

"If he keeps it up, he can be famous." Tiddy says making victory role his eyes.

"Enough I better get goin." Tiddy nodded his head as he whispers to john stopping victory from standing up and leaving. John leaves before coming back with a paper bag full of dry food and hands it to victory.

"Here kid as payment." Before Victory can disagree, he looks at Denton saying goodbye then walking away.

Victory gets up from his spot, Denton joining him as victory says goodbye to john.

"By john"

"By Vic"

With that victory walks out along with Denton who follows him. The two ended up talking as victory walks Denton back to his hotel room.
