Filler chapter
While the three boys head up to the Brooklyn bridge to talk to the Brooklyn boys more importantly spot Collon. Denton was seen walking around when he noticed The boy from earlier sitting on a bench, leaning his back on the side of a building. In one hand he holds a roll from Tiddy and the other two in his lap meanwhile the other hand holds a joint. Deaton thinks for a moment before making his way towards the boy who doesn't notice him until he's right in front of him.
Victory looks up from his spot on the bench to see a guy slightly older than him standing in front of him. The boy doesn't say anything but raises an eyebrow. Deaton didn't know what to say for a moment, slightly imitated by the boy even when he's sitting down. Deaton gets the courage up to start talking only for him to end up asking to sit. Victory says go ahead as he starts on his second roll.
Victory done with the silence starts to talk after finishing a bite of his roll. He turns to look at Deaton who glances at him. "Is there something you need? Victory asks him to make Deaton give full attention to the boy he came to talk to. Victory notices his confused face and smirks a little.
"We'll obviously you come here to talk to me, so are you or are you just going to sit there?" Victory asks Deaton, slightly mesmerized by the beauty of the boy, and starts to talk.
"My name is Deaton, yours is victory right?"
"Was it to you?" Victory was less relaxed than he was moments before.
"Nothing bad I've just seen you around. You're a newsie right?" Deaton smiles at Victory who slightly relaxes.
"You can say that."
"Are you a part of the strike you know being a newsboy also?'' Deaton waits curiously for his answer. The boy scoffs at the question.
"No" Was all he got out of the boy who started to finish his last roll, Savoring it like it was his last meal. Deaton takes notice but doesn't say anything but gets an idea.
"I'm a reporter. I'm trying to help the newsies get noticed for the strike that's going to happen." Victory is confused but continues to listen, lighting his cigar to distract himself from the lack of food.
Deaton continues to talk about the strike trying to drop hints to victory about joining the strike. No matter how much victory finds the man's voice oddly attractive.
"If you stop talking I'll consider it." Deaton looks surprised.
"But"
"But?"
"Only if you have a place I can stay the night?" Victory looks away from the man who thinks for a moment before agreeing.
The next day victory is gone by the time Deaton wakes up.

this isn't really part of the story just a filler chapter as I didn't fit it in the stories timeline right.
