"We gotta get the word out to all the newsies of New York." Jack tells Davey once he's down the ladder. "I need some of those.... what ya call 'em?"

"Ambassadors?" David suggests in confusion. "Yeah, right. Okay, you guys, you gotta be ambastards and go tell the others that we're on strike." Jack tells the boys saying the word ambassadors wrong.

"Say, Jack, I'll take Harlem" Kid Blink volunteers "Yeah, I got Midtown," Racetrack says from his spot behind Kid Blink. The two walk off, Mush taking their place.

"I got the Battery, Jack." Mush follows the other two boys. "Hey, I'll take the Bronx, come on."Crutchy takes one of the boys by his shirt, leading them both away.

"Alright. And Bumlets, and Specs and Skittery, you take Queens. Pie Eater! Snoddy! East Side! Snipe shooter, you go with 'em". Jack gives others an order. "So, what about Brooklyn? Come on, Spot Conlon's territory." Jack asks as everyone turns away pretending to be busy "What'sa matta? You scared of Brooklyn?" Jack asks making a mom pose with his hands on his waist.

"Hey, we ain't scared of Brooklyn. Spot Conlon makes us a little nervous." Boots cut in shivering. Some of them agree. "Well, he don't make me nervous. So, you and me, Boots, we'll go to Brooklyn. And Dave here can keep us company then I'll go and fetch victory right Dave?" Jack asks

"Sure, just as soon as you deliver our demands to Pulitzer, "David responds, making Jack look at him in confusion.

"Me? To Pulitzer?" Jack points to himself
"You're the leader, Jack." David pats Jack on the soldier. Jack stays silent. "Come on Jack, we're behind you." One of the boys encourages.

"Well, maybe the Kid'll soften him up." Jack walks towards Les grabbing him and walking towards the fancy doors, with everyone cheering them on.

Boots closed the doors once the duo made it in, yelling strike over and over again the others joining in, making David smile as he made it to the front of the group. The newsies go off in different directions, as The man watching makes it through the crowd toward David to speak to him.

"Hey, what is the strike? What's going on?" The man asks, putting his hand on David's shoulder, making the boy look at him as another smaller boy shakes hands with David. "We're bringing out demands to Pulitzer," David tells the man once the kid lets go.

"What demands?
"The newsies demand. We're on strike." David explains
"I'm with the New York Sun. Bryan Denton. (he shakes Davids's hand) You seem like the kid in charge. What's your name?"

"David," David tells the man now known as Denton.
"David. David as in David and Goliath? You really think old man Pulitzer's going to listen to your demands?"

"He has to."Right when David answers Jack and Les get thrown out the door.
"Well, so's your old lady! You tell Pulitzer he needs an appointment with me!" Jack yells at the door as it slams closed.

"Yeah!" Les yells

Jack, David, Les, and Denton are sitting in a booth in Tibby's Restaurant.

"So, this snooty mug says to me, 'You can't see Mr. Pulitzer. No one sees Mr. Pulitzer.' Real hoity-toity, you know the type?" Jack is sitting between the wall and Les with the other two on the other side of the booth. "Real hoity-toity." Les mimics Jack trying to be like him.

"So that's when I say to him, 'Listen, I ain't in the habit of transacting no business with office boys. Just tell him Jack Kelly's here to see him now! Jack continues his story "That's when he threw us out." Les finishes for Jack.

"Does he scare you?" Denton looks at Jack. "You're going up against the most powerful man in New York City.

"Oh yeah, look at me. I'm trembling." Jack says, making Denton smile. "Besides I know Victory, nothing can scare me like that guy," Jack admits, Deaton looks at Jack confused while the two siblings have heard of Victory before courtesy of the newsboys.

"Victory, who's that?" Deaton asks Jack. Before Jack can answer the said boy walks out of the kitchen with his hair wet. Everyone working in the kitchen lets the boy pass by while saying their goodbye to the younger boy they've all grown fond of. The owner just smiles at Victory handing him a couple of rolls before Victory starts to head out the door.

"That's victory." Jack points at the boy making the others at the table look at him. Deaton studies him for a moment recognizing him from the bench. Before victory can make it out the door the owner calls back at him.

"Hey, kid?" "Yeah, what is it." Victory turns his attention towards the owner. The boys at the booth listened in. "Cause I let you use my shower, you're still paying me back, right?"

"Yeah, I'll see you Saturday like always." With that, the boy walks out. Deaton watches the boy leave before they all look back.

Deaton starts to say goodbye, handing Davey a card. "Alright, keep me informed. I want to know everything that's going on." Deaton starts to stand

"Are we really an important story? "Davey looks up at Deaton, still holding the business card.

"Well, what's important? Last year I covered the war in Cuba. Charged up San Juan Hill with Col. Teddy Roosevelt. That was an important story. So, is the newsie's strike important? That all depends on you." Deaton tells the boys

"So my name's really gonna be in the papers? "Jack asks hopefully making Denton remember how young these boys really

Denton is getting helped by a waiter who helps him put on his jacket "Any objections?"
"Not as long as you get it right. It's Kelly, Jack Kelly. Oh, and Denton? No pictures." Jack tells Deanton who just smiles.

"Sure Jack."
