Chapter 15

Han Jisung

"We're here." I sighed. I looked back and some of them looked fine. Namely Youngjae, Felix and Chan.

It was understandable since they're Vampires. They don't feel tired. So does me.

But the other three don't look good. Woojin has his shirt soaked with sweat as he pants. Changbin held onto his knees for support, panting heavily. Minho was leaning against a tree, his sweat dripping down from his forehead down to his soaked grey shirt.

We're supposed to come here at the number of six. But we managed to come as seven people. We just couldn't bear to leave the 'humans' behind.

We left the younger ones back at the mansion with the supervision of Bambam and Jimin. They're safe there considering that those Hustlers didn't really get to see the mansion even those it's bigger than it should be if we'll going to hide it.

"What are we going to do here? It's just an old tree trunk?" Chan asked as he scratched the back of his neck.

"Yeah? I don't see anything special. Didn't you say you need to go somewhere important?" Youngjae shrugged. He looked at me while putting his hands on his jeans' pockets.

"Just go held those humans you brought close to you," I said sternly as I scanned the trunk. I looked to the side and saw a small unusual part, sticking out.

"Bingo," I smirked before pulling the part down. The ground shook for a bit before the big trunk opened up.

"What... Is this..." He heard Youngjae said from behind. I snickered before turning back with a smirk.

"What? Haven't heard of 'the controlled forest'?" I mumbled, waiting for the door on the tree trunk to open completely.

"Controlled forest? Never heard?" Chan asked.

"This forest we're in is called 'the controlled forest'. Why? Simply because many species of human-like creatures came here and control this place. This isn't just a forest." I stated as I waited for the hidden door to open.

"Are humans allowed to enter?" Youngjae hesitantly asked. I looked back at Youngjae before glancing at Minho and Changbin.

"They'll be fine." I simply said before looking at my front, seeing that the hidden door is now wide open for us to enter.

"Let's go inside now," I said before entering the door no the huge tree trunk. The inside was so dark.

I looked back and saw them struggling to enter and walk since we don't have any light source from the inside.

"Everyone. Come closer to me. Don't leave anyone behind. It's not safe out there." I mumbled before bringing my finger up and generated light with the bright fire in my fingertip.

I walked in front, feeling the other's presence behind me. I slowly walked through the dark tunnel, minding my steps.

"Jisung. Give me a fireball." I heard Felix's from far behind. I lift my spare hand and fired a fireball behind me, controlling it so it wouldn't hit anybody.

Felix lifted my fireball out of my control with his ability to control the weight of almost everything on the planet, helping me distribute the light for us to walk easier in the tunnel we are currently in.

"Where are we going?"

"We're going to the 'HLC' Headquarters," I answered just in time that the end of the tunnel can be finally seen.

"Walk slowly and carefully. We need to mind our steps at this point." I instructed them before slowly walking forward.

"What, why?"

"Because they secured the path close to the end of the tunnel with traps." A knife flew in front of my face after I finished my sentence, surprising me for a bit.

The knife went straight towards the other wall of the small but long tunnel.

"See that? You don't want a knife to be thrown on your face now, do you?" I mumbled before guiding them more carefully towards the end, making sure they came out fine.

I made them go out first, preventing them to step on one of the spots that might activate one of the traps. They finally got out but I saw Changbin stepping on one of the slopes on the floor, possibly for traps.

"Changbin, run!" I exclaimed as it rained knives. One of the knives pierced through my right shoulder. I hissed in pain as I pulled the knife out, dropping it on the floor.

I almost screamed in pain as I saw Changbin on the other end, glancing inside. I run outside, stopping every knife with my fire.

I groaned loudly as I fell on my knees when I finally came out. Pain penetrated my whole arm. I grabbed my shoulder, blood gushing out of it.

"Jisung! What happened?!" Youngjae and Felix immediately run to my aid. I gulped my saliva as I started healing myself, groaning when it sting.

"One of the traps were activated," I answered quietly as I wiped my sweat with the back of my hand. I panted heavily before looking at Changbin, staring in his eyes.

"You even guided us out safely... How did that happen...?" Minho asked as he tilted his head to the side, his face showing that he's confused.

"Someone stepped on a certain spot," I mumbled as a reply, continuing to stare at Changbin.

"So... You passed our guarded entrance... You have a familiar face?" I heard someone said behind me. I smirked when I felt him sniff me.

"It's been a while, Jae..." I said before turning around, being welcomed by Jae's shocked face.

"How did you know my name? How did you know how I am without even looking back first?" He asked, his voice laced with confusion and seriousness.

"You said, I'm familiar to you. Try and remember who I am." I challenged him with a sly grin on my face.

He stared at my face for a couple of seconds before frowning slightly.

"How did I not recognize you, you little shit!" He said before flicking my forehead. I plastered a fond smile on my lips as I looked back.

"Jae hyung! I told you to get me some foo- Jisung! What brought you back on our little humble paradise?"

"Brian hyung!" I called his name as high-fived each other.

"Oh, please... Stop calling me Brian and call me YoungK instead, please..." He groaned before rolling his eyes.

"Can we just go inside now? I got accompany." I said, my face turning serious as I gesture for them to look at my back on where the others are.
