Chapter 12

Han Jisung

They all seem pretty intimidated by me. Good.

I want them to know who's in charge now. I won't be going back down to their kind of level. I won't try to be friendly to them again.

I tried to be. But I just can't. My body resists, my mind argues leaving me confused about what attitude should I possess.

And that shit happened. I couldn't stop myself from staring into space whenever I thought of my mom.

I shouldn't have left. I could be there to protect her if I didn't become the coward I am today.

I couldn't help but blame myself for everything. I should've just stayed there with her.

But, Felix...

I sighed as I closed my eyes.

"Why is my life have to be so complicated?" I muttered as I spread my arms on the sides of my king-sized bed.

It might sound odd but I wish Youngjae and I were in good terms at this point.

What's our connection, you asked?

He used to be my trainer. He's respected as one of the greatest MultiBility. I was 14 when he was 18 and he was already one of the highest-ranked trainers in our society.

We developed friendships throughout the years that he trained me and Felix. We also built a place for us three if we became tired of our everyday lives, we could just go there and have fun by ourselves.

Which is this mansion.

I was the one to initiate building this place and I was also the one to find a way to build it. I stole some of Luther's money to built this. He doesn't need to know that.

We used to be inseparable, us three. But when I leave with Felix, he doesn't want to go with us so he stayed.

The news that he became one of Luther's loyal guards just reached me. I don't know why I despise him after that. 

I figure out that he knows where Jimin is and I was furious because I thought he'll go get Jimin so he could force her to go back to the palace.

But, it turns out that it was false.

He was helping Jimin. He was helping us.

We all walked from the back of the mansion to the forest. It's early in the morning but we couldn't waste any time. We need to stop Luther from attacking the innocents as soon as possible.

"Someone's watching us." I heard Felix's voice. I looked back and I saw them a couple of feet away.

"I don't feel any presence," Jimin said before looking at Youngjae.

"I don't feel any too." Youngjae supported Jimin. Felix shook his head.

"I might just be hallucinating." He said before walking again. The others following him. 

I looked at him with a poker face. 

'Everything good?'

He nodded at me. He sighed before gesturing me to continue walking. I just shrugged it off before walking again. I became more cautious of our surroundings. 

We need to be careful, especially we have humans with us.

We've been walking for almost two hours now and I can hear groans from the back.

'My feet hurt.'

Someone's mind said with exhaustion. I sighed before looking around to find a place where we could rest. I forgot that were with humans that don't have that long stamina like us.

I found a place under a tree. 

"We could rest for a while. There." I said before pointing to the spot that I found. I heard some of them sighed in relief.

After a while, we all walked again. We could only walk or else they will notice our presence.

"We're here." I huffed. We're standing in front of a small house in the middle of the forest. 

"Remind me again why we're here?"

"I need to talk to Phoebe."

I stepped closer to the house's porch before knocking. I knocked loudly for two times. I was about to knock again when the door suddenly opened on itself. 

"Jisung, don't just enter insi-- hey!" Felix can't do anything when I entered inside despite him warning me.

"Phoebe. Are you here?" I called her name loudly.

No one answered. A messy house just welcomed me. There are papers everywhere. Potion bottles, trash, and even shards of glass!

This messy girl!

I looked back and I saw only Felix and Youngjae on my back. I can see a hint of a body frame behind Youngjae but I can't see who it is. I took a step back.

"Aish!" I hissed when I felt something pierced my foot. 

"Phoebe!" I shouted out of disbelief when I saw a shard in the back of my foot. 

"Jesus, who was that?! Who's inside my house?!"

I looked up when I heard a panicked voice. An elder woman came out of a room. My eyes widened at the sight of the woman.

Did I go to the wrong house?!

I was about to apologize when she spoke.

"Han Jisung?! Oh my god! Is that you?!" The woman squealed.

"How did you know my name?" I gently asked. Her smile dropped before she walked to the mirror. She exclaimed before giggled when she saw her reflection.

"Excuse me for a minute. And oh, I'm sorry about your eyes in advance." She said before a very bright light came out from her body.

After a second a young-looking woman replaces the elder woman that welcomed me a while ago.

"Hi, there. Sorry about that." She waved before chuckling.

"Where did the grandma go?" Felix exclaimed behind me. She giggles before shaking her head.

"I am the grandma." She laughs at Felix.

"Stop laughing. Help me here." I said. She looks at me worriedly. Feels like she sensed it.

"Oh my... Wait..." She flicked her finger and all of the trash disappeared. The papers got together before it settled on top of a cabinet.

"You forgot something." She sighed.

"Please sit on the sofa." 

"I can't. My foot is paralyzed." 

Suddenly, I was put in mid-air. I didn't need to panic and look back to know who's the one who makes me like that.

Felix.

I was slowly put on the sofa. Phoebe came beside me to give my foot assistance. 

"It might hurt a little." Phoebe pulled the shard out of my foot making the blood squirt out of the wound. I hissed when I felt a sting.

"Done." I didn't stand up. The other's got inside the small house. 

"I didn't expect you to go here. Why are you here by the way?" She asked before she sat beside me. She didn't seem to mind the others.

"Why did you said that I'm different from the others?"

"When did I said that?" 

"Remember when you and your tribe got to our palace for alliance?"

"Jisung! There's someone here to get an alliance from our family. Father said we need to get dressed!" Jimin noona shouted across the room from my door.

"Alright!" I answered at the same time my maids entered inside my room to dress me.

After a few minutes, they're done getting me ready. They led me inside the throne room of the palace. I entered with a big smile.

Mother's big smile welcomed me.

"Come here, my child." Her soothing voice enveloped my ears, relaxing me. I ran towards her throne. I kissed her cheek.

I moved from her to my father. I kissed his cheek too but I didn't look at him. I moved back to mother.

"Mother, can I play later? With Jimin noona and Lixie? Can we? Can we?" I asked her excitedly. She softly giggled at me. 

"Of  cours--"

"No, you can't. You need to study later. Alongside your siblings." A low voice answered, interrupting mother's soothing voice.

"But, father..."

"Study." He said with finalization in his voice.

"Luther, don't be too harsh on our children. Just let them play, they're still kids."

"I won't make them grow just playing. They need to study and train. I don't care if they're still kids." He argued. 

I sighed before walking to my seat. 

"Your highness, they're here." A royal guard bowed at father.

"Make them enter." 

A group of beautiful men and women entered the throne room.

"We are here to ask for an alliance. Some vampires kept attacking our village, destroying our houses and hurting our people. Many of us suffered in various ways because of the works of those filthy vampires. We need protection." One of them said I suppose his the leader of them.

"And what did you brought us?" 

"We have gold, spices, and rare kinds of stuff that you could only found at our place." 

I was getting bored so I stood up from my seat. I signed at my mother that I'm going out.

She just sent me off. I put my hands on my clothes pocket. I walked towards the palace's prince garden.

Prince Garden, where I could play by myself.

I sighed before flopping down at one of the benches.

"You're different from the others I have seen." I heard someone said beside me.

I looked beside me and there I saw a young girl, probably at my age, dressed in a white short dress.

"Me? Different? Well, I guess maybe because I'm a prince?" I answered mindlessly.

"It's not like that. You have something different inside you... I can feel it." She said. I sighed before asking who she is.

"I'm with the fairies that were asking for an alliance. They gave us permission to go and explore this large mansion so I took the chance while the others are busy."

"You still didn't answer my question."  I quietly whined.

"What?"

"Your name." Her eyes widened as her face shows that she's shocked.

"I'm... Phoebe! Yeah! I'm Phoebe." She looked at her feet.

Weird.
