Kingdom Of Tarnzaire
Chapter 28
Han Jisung
"We'll discover what you really are. You and Me. Together."
How does he know what to say to make me calm down...
His words worked surprisingly well and I was shocked by my reaction of calming down. Even my mind blanked out.
We entered the portal side by side, hand by hand. It was very comforting knowing he's beside me. A beautiful town welcomed us. It was prettier than I expected since we're supposedly going to an ancient kingdom who rumored to have disappeared decades ago without a trace.
It was covered with trees, making the wind breeze naturally cold since they're also positioned on the top of a high hill. The houses oddly look modernized.
"Are you sure this town is supposed to be dated way back decades ago?" I asked Phoebe when she stepped out of the portal, sealing it again.
"What? We're in the present time, Jisung! This kingdom is still alive and running." Phoebe chuckled. Wait... What?!
"But it's supposed to have disappeared ages ago, right? It's what the people said." I asked, obviously confused. It doesn't make any sense at all.
"This kingdom is our kingdom. The fairies. Humans are the ones that started living here but soon enough, the fairies found the ruins of this town and decided to make it our own kingdom. Fairies have a small population, at least the ones here since not all fairies are together."
"We travel per batch or clan. And we are the Moon Clan. So most of the fairies here are affiliated with the moon. Most of our rituals are with the moon or for the moon." She explained.
"But, you're just a normal fairy, right? How come you know where the portal is?"
"I am not a regular fairy, Jisung. I am the princess of the moon clan." I was dumbfounded when she revealed the truth.
"So, all this time you were lying to me. You told me you weren't really important to your community and made me think that you're a regular fairy?" My voice came out more serious than I intended for it to sound.
Phoebe's smile immediately disappeared as she lowers herself to the ground, letting her feet touch the ground.
"I know I lied to you. But I had a reason. I wanted to feel normal. I want to be able to wander around the world normally like how you and Felix can after you left your kingdom. That's why I told you I'm just a fairy. Nothing special." She lowers her head, looking like she's ashamed of herself.
"I ran away from my kingdom too because they were too strict and overprotective of me as the princess even though I can completely take care of myself. That's what happened before you met me in the woods, a few feet away from your mansion." She mumbled, her sweet jolly voice disappearing as the own full of sadness took over.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. I was just surprised because I thought you weren't the type of person to lie." I apologized sincerely. She seemed shocked that she even immediately shot me a shocked look.
"Yeah, yeah. I know." I sighed before shrugging. "Minho's effect on me. Don't ask me anything more." I immediately cut her when I saw her wanting to know more.
"Jisung! This place is so cool! Like, look how beautiful it is!" Minho pulled my sleeve, wanting me to turn around and look at the place. I immediately did what he wanted me to do.
Actually, I wasn't expecting to see this for either the ancient town or the fairy kingdom. I expected older looking town and house structures. But the houses looked more modernized than what I was expecting.
"Hmm... How exactly are we gonna be able to gather information about what I am here?"
"Through the palace's library. We got a lot of information not a lot knows because a lot of moon clan fairies are known spies in the hidden world of other creatures." Phoebe explained before she gathered everyone who is starting to wander off, wanting to walk around.
When all of us were gathered in one place again, she waved her staff, suddenly we were teleported inside what seemed like a gigantic library. There were a lot of tall bookcases and literal thousands of books.
"Just how many books are in here?!" Youngjae couldn't help but exclaim. He really disliked reading because it takes so much time and he doesn't like wasting time. It's probably making his head throb just seeing all the books.
"Almost a million, I think? We write every single important detail or thing we discover every day. It doesn't matter if it's small or big and just compiled it. We wrote it in a special paper that can't be burned by any type of flame so our findings would be very safe." She rose from the ground going up to a tall bookcase.
"Don't your hands hurt? I mean, you said you write everything you learn?" Bambam asked that was followed by Youngjae smacking the back of the younger's head.
"You've lived for 24 decades yet you still don't have a common sense now, do you? They're fairies, they have magic to help them with those, dumbass." Youngjae groaned, shaking his head.
"Oh! Oh yeah! Sorry, I forgot, my bad! Also, that smack was painful." Youngjae didn't reply and just proceed on looking around the huge place with a lot of books that we're in.
"There could be something here explaining what you really are and why you." I turned to Minho, my face turning serious as I nodded.
"Yeah. I guess."
"Ah, there it is!" My eyes averted back to Phoebe. She has her staff pointed into a pile of books, making it levitate and go down with her.
"Here are four books about Fliondéso. I don't know if either of these will help us but we can try to look into them." Phoebe smiled at us, flicking her fingers and a set of two large sofas and a coffee table appeared behind us.
"Let's give them a look, shall we?"
