He's Not Him

Chapter 32

Han Jisung

I choose to go with them. Why?

I don't want to lose everyone. At least I got to spend time with them before I do what I need to do. I want to fix everything as much as I can.

"Your father misses you a lot, Jisung. He's been talking about you for so long~!" Homin said excitedly.

There's something different about him. He was never this lively and energetic. He's a quiet boy and he was never like this.

But I guess after what I did to him back then, he probably changed. I left him there instead of saving him and I even burned his house down with him in it.

I don't know how he survives that but I'm happy he's alive and well. I'm happy I got to see him again even if there's a possibility he isn't the Homin I once loved.

Yeah, loved. It's already in the past now. Even though I loved him so much in the past, it's in the past now. I already have my heart reserved for one person only.

"Did you miss me?" He linked his arm on my arm. I didn't answer and instead, I just nodded.

Honestly, I'm scared. I'm scared of what's gonna happen to me. I'm scared of what's gonna happen to the people I left. But I need to do this. I need to deal with this on my own.

I started it and I'll be the one to finish it.

Lee Minho

"He's such a fool! He won't be able to do that on his own!" Felix groaned angrily, running his fingers through his blonde locks.

"He's gonna be fine. Trust your brother." Jimin tried pacifying Felix, trying to stop him from having irrational decisions like Jisung.

We can't afford to lose both of them. They know each other the best and they're both powerful as individuals.

"Fine. But we can't just wait here. We need to get Jisung as soon as possible. I can't let him get hurt. He's been through a lot already." I can hear the worry on Felix's voice.

"Don't worry, It's just been a few months since I met Jisung but I can tell you that he's strong enough to not get hurt," I mumbled, trying to reassure Felix.

"He'll be fine, Felix. He's a tough guy." Youngjae smiled. Of course, there's a worry in our minds. We're worried and concerned for Jisung. But we also need to trust him.

"If he's in trouble, we'll save him. Just trust him for now. We just can't come barging in the palace. We need to plan every move we make if we wanted to save Jisung." Hyunjin suddenly becomes so serious.

This is the first time I've ever since him this serious and not goofy. I know all of us are on the edge because we didn't expect anything. It was very peaceful and then suddenly, they come here just to get Jisung.

We were just laying down in the grass when it happened. We were just chatting peacefully, feeling so comfortable beside each other when the arrows came pouring in.

"Are you okay?" I flinched when I heard someone spoke beside me. I turned to the person to my right.

"You're spacing out. You aren't okay, are you?" I was surprised when I saw Changbin.

He was the last person that I expected to come to me. I knew he was still mad and hurt because of me and Jisung.

"I don't know if I am. I can't understand what I feel." I answered honestly. I don't want to lie more to him.

"I know, I am not powerful than the others, heck I am not even capable of thinking rationally when you and Jisung got together but I'm here for you. I'm sorry for getting mad at you two. It wasn't really your fault."

I couldn't look at him. I couldn't make myself to even turn my head towards his direction. I was so consumed by guilt.

"I still hurt you. You trusted me and I just did actions that I wasn't supposed to do without even thinking about the consequences." I sighed exasperatedly.

"We need to save Jisung first. I'm willing to help in any way I can. He saved your life because of me and now he's in danger too." Changbin smiled bitterly, his eyes displaying multiple emotions.

I was about to answer when my chest started tightening making me grip my shirt that's on my chest tightly. "Fuck."

"What's happening? Are you okay?" Changbin asked worriedly, his eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"The distance is affecting both of them. This is not gonna be easy." Jihyo spoke from behind. I suddenly felt like I'm in the clouds, my body feeling so light. I couldn't think of anything.

Third Person

"What did you do to him?" Changbin asked Jihyo when he saw something different about Minho

"I just let him not feel the pain for now. They can't be far from each other. It's like the effect humans get when they drink those painkiller tablets." Jihyo answered with a soft voice and a small smile.

"Is it very painful?" Changbin asked, unsure. Jihyo smiled sadly at him.

"Very." She simply answered, feeling sympathetic towards Minho and Jisung.

"If it was painful for Minho..." Changbin couldn't continue his words. He suddenly felt so guilty. "What about Jisung..."

"He's probably in massive pain right now. He's hiding it. Like always. He doesn't wanna appear like the weak one." Felix answered harshly.

He still can't get over the fact that they just let Jisung go like that. They didn't even resist and tried stopping them.

"What have we been doing?! We've been just hanging around aimlessly for weeks! We didn't even do anything to stop Luther from his plans! We neglected the fact that he's trying to turn every human into Vampires because of our stupid actions!"

Felix couldn't help himself. It was the first time everyone saw him this mad. He doesn't usually get mad or even annoyed.

Probably because he knows nothing good will happen if he's hotheaded and has a short temper like his brother.

"Seriously, you twins are so scary when you're mad. Felix, calm down. We won't be able to do anything rational if you act without thinking first." Youngjae sighed, massaging the sides of his head.

"But Jisung is suffering! We need to save him as soon as possible!" Felix tried reasoning. Youngjae sighed, trying not to get angry too because he knows it'll create chaos.

On the other hand, Chan—who's been looking for his friend—sprung out of nowhere.

"Have you guys seen Woojin?" He asked in a worried voice. Youngjae looked at him before looking around.

"We haven't. Shit! Could it be he got caught up when they took Jisung?" Youngjae mumbled, running his fingers on his hair, so stressed with the current situation.

"No. He's been gone before that even happened. I saw him come out of this and then as soon as he did, Jisung and Minho came running back saying they're being attacked." Hyunjin said behind them.

"They took him. I should've sensed this was going to happen..." Jimin sighed, covering her face.

———

Inside a huge castle up in the north, Jisung was being brought to a large throne room. He was clutching his chest, trying his best not to show that he's in pain.

It was unbearable but he doesn't want them to notice. He knows they will use it to their advantage.

Homin immediately bowed in front of the man who's sitting on the throne. Han Luther.

"Long time no see, my son," Luther smirked.

"I'm not your son." He replied with a very cold tone.

"I see." Luther then turned to Homin, nodding his head slowly. "I shall reward you for your cooperation so far. Kim Woojin."

Jisung's eyes widened at the name Luther muttered. He looked to his side, only to catch Woojin going back to his original appearance. No Homin on sight.

"You?! You're a shapeshifter?!" Jisung couldn't help but get mad. He couldn't believe it. Woojin only chuckled. He smirked at him, tilting his head to the other side.

"Say goodbye to Chan for me." He walked towards the throne, getting beside Luther. "That is if you got out alive of this castle."
