Chapter 33

"What is this plan of yours?" 

"We're going to infiltrate the palace, manipulate all the guards, and save Jisung," Jimin said before turning around with a small smile on her lips.

"You know that it's not that easy, right?" Youngjae sighed, walking towards Jimin before wrapping his arms around her.

"Of course! I grew up in the palace, of course I know it won't be easy. I know how dangerous it is. But I also know how to enter and where every route is going to take us." Jimin said confidently before she smirked.

"That smirk doesn't side with me very well." Youngjae sighed before he pulled Jimin back to the group.

"I'm going to explain. Sit down and have patience. Get ready and be brave." Jimin sat down on the couch.

Jisung didn't like staying there. Why? He was dying because of the pain in his chest. He can feel his heart getting grasped so hard but it just doesn't stop and he can't die too.

He was already on the floor, his body crawled up, his hands on his chest, gripping it tightly. He wants to rip his chest open and pull his heart out.

That was until he heard loud footsteps and very hard banging on the door. He wants to stand up and try to defend himself but he was just crumpled on the floor.

Came barging in his room is Luther. One of his eyebrows rose when he saw Jisung in that state. "You're in pain?"

As if someone flipped a switch on Jisung when he heard his voice, he immediately tried standing up, wobbly, slowly but determined.

"You're in pain yet you still trying to defend yourself. Well, I already expected that because you hate me." Luther chuckled with no emotion, sitting down on the chair a little bit far from where Jisung is.

"W-what do you want?" Jisung asked sharply, his eyes glowing a faint shade of purple due to the pain he's feeling. He can't be too angry.

"I see. That tint of purple in your eyes stills shows when you're angry. I've seen those so many times." He smiled slightly, however, there's just no emotion in him.

No happiness, no sadness, no hatred, no guilt, nothing.

"Once I'm done killing all the other ranked families, I'll be the only one left. I'll turn every human to a Vampire and I will make them succumb to me and kiss the bottom of my feet." Luther smirked before he stood up.

"How dare you! You don't deserve whatever you are right now! You should rot and die!" He shouted at the top of his lungs even though his chest is already killing him.

Luther looked back, his eyes dark and sharp. If looks can murder, Jisung will be lying in his own cold blood. Sadly, he's not Youngjae who could kill with just one look.

"YOU should be the one to rot and die."

Year 1829

"Your majesties, it's a baby boy." Luther couldn't hide his smile. Finally, he will have his heir. After his wife gave birth to Jimin, he has always wanted a boy.

A princess isn't enough to manage the whole Vampire society. She needs a reliable brother who she could help rule the society. That's what Luther thinks.

"Darling, it's a boy! We will have o-..." His eyes widened when he saw the woman she loved all his life with closed eyes. She was never like this when she gave birth to Jimin.

"Darling? Darling?" Luther caressed his dear wife's face, wanting her to wake up. But sadly, his wife couldn't handle giving birth to Jisung and passed away.

The King was depressed. He couldn't even look at his son without remembering what happened to his wife.

Persephone is her name. Just like the goddess, she was a very beautiful lady. She wasn't really a noble before Luther. And what's worst is, she is just a low ranked High-class.

The people didn't question them when they appeared to be dating and even married each other. They didn't question anything because they know what Luther and his whole family is capable of.

Sadly, she perished while giving birth to Jisung just pretty much drained her to the very core. Giving birth to a Fliondeso is a big risk for a woman, especially if they aren't one of the Vampires born in a very powerful lineage.

"Darling..." Luther just sighed, running his fingers on his hair. He doesn't want to blame his child but he can't bear to even glance at Jisung.

"Your majesty, your concubine from the family of Lee gave birth to a very healthy baby boy yesterday. They kindly ask for you to take the baby since they noticed you may need someone to keep your child entertained." Youngjae reported. He was one of Luther's most trusted men.

"Did they sent him now?" He asked, obviously uninterested. He was just twirling a gold coin in between his fingers. The sweet and cheerful king was gone. As the day passes, he gets worse and worse.

That's when he planned to get married again, wanting to stop thinking about his late wife. He married Stephanie, the mother of Felix. They agreed to make it seem like Jisung and Felix are twins.

Stephanie erased a portion of Jimin's memories where she can see her real mother and replaced it as her. They make it seem like Stephanie is their real mother.

 Luther just wasn't the same. Even though he has the perfect family again. The children are happy with Stephanie but Luther just kind of pushed them away.

He went through so much just to get Persephone to marry him and then just because of their child, she died? The others already warned them about how Persephone won't be able to give birth to another child since her body is becoming weaker and more fragile and delicate than before. It's because of Luther's desire to have an heir that led to this.

Jisung, however, was sighted with peculiar abilities. A lot of Vampires can only replicate the four elements but they can't produce the elements themselves. But Jisung...

He almost set the whole rose garden in a fire, where he and his siblings and mother are bonding with. Good thing, the knights around them put the fire immediately before it spread and got bigger than it should.

Luther became furious, of course. He won't let his second wife die like his first love. Even though he wasn't that attached to Stephanie like he was with Persephone, he still cares for the woman.

That's when Luther really becomes really strict and ruthless, especially to Jisung. He doesn't care if his children are all hating him because all he wanted was to be with Persephone.

He really didn't care about his children anymore. He just shut himself, becoming the ruthless king everyone become afraid of today. But not Jisung, Felix, and Jimin.

They hated him and not feared him. Of course, they didn't know the truth behind the father they've grown to blame. 

That's when Jisung and Felix decided to leave since everything was becoming too much. Jimin decided to stay. Why? Because she wants to stay with Stephanie and keep her safe.

"You don't know anything, Jisung. You don't know anything!" Luther shouted, kicking Jisung, sending him flying to the other side of the room.

Jisung could just groan and cough at the pain. It was so painful. He would rather die than to endure this pain. 

"If only I could kill you, I will. Before you could step a foot outside this palace. Before you could even develop inside your mother's womb."
