Chapter 2

Han Jisung

"Hey!" Felix shouted in front of me. His voice made me woke up from my deep thoughts.

"What?!" I asked, annoyed. I glared at him.

"You seem like your traveling on your own. Mind sharing?" He deadpanned me.  I just scoffed

"It's nothing." I simply said before losing myself in a trance of deep thoughts.

I'm curious about that woman I saw looking at our house last night. What did she want? Is she looking out for us?

She might be a threat. I want to know more about her but how? I don't even have a clue who she is.

"Do you mind me sitting here?"

A familiar voice stopped me from thinking. I looked up and I saw that flirty guy from yesterday, a tray full of food in his hands.

"Uh... Sure." Felix said with a smile.

Tsk.

His mouth says yes but his mind strongly disagreed. Fake.

"Umm... I'm sorry if you feel awkward with me sitting with you two. It's just that I don't have anywhere to sit." He said as he put the tray down to our table.

My eyes unintentionally looked—or should I say scanned the cafeteria to see if he's saying the truth.

He's actually right. There's no table left.

He sat at the chair beside me. He started to eat his food.

"You won't eat?" He asked, referring to us two.

"We don't eat what's in this cafeteria. We have our own food." Felix said.

"Ahh~" His face shows that he understands. What's up with this guy?

"Uh, why aren't you saying anything?" He said as he looked at me. My poker face remained unbothered.

"Why are you asking us questions?" I snapped. I know I sounded rude but I just can't get that woman off my head.

She kept appearing in my mind but I didn't have any clue and that annoys me.

"Ji! He just wants to know us! Don't be rude!" Felix warned me with a stern voice. Now what? I'm being rude to this guy?! I'm just freaking asking!

"I'm not being rude. I'm just doing what he does. Am I not allowed to do that?"

"That's not what I meant--"

"If you think I'm rude then talk to him alone. I'm just gonna go since I think I'm destroying the peaceful atmosphere between two friendly persons such as you two." I bitterly smiled as I grabbed my bag.

"Ji--" I didn't let him finish saying my name. I walked out of the cafeteria with a hot-temper.

See what I told you?

I get hot-tempered easily. I just can't handle my temper so well.

Since I was born in a household where homophobic assholes live.

I never knew that even Vampires have homophobic pollution too. And to be honest, Vampires are much worse than humans.

I fucking hated being a Vampire.

"Ji! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it that way! I--"

"It's fine, Felix. You know me and my terrible temper control. It's not your fault." I said with a poker face.

"It's just... I'm really so--" I cut him off again before he says sorry.

"Felix. It's fine. Stop saying sorry." I said. I hesitated to tap him in his shoulder but I did so. I tapped him before giving him a small smile.

"Let's go to our room now. We still have one class each. After our classes, let's go to your place." I said making him smile.

"Alright! Imma go now!" He set off with a big smile.

It feels good seeing him happy.

I walked towards the direction where my room is. The small smile on my lips created by Felix remained until I sat at my spot inside our room.

Soon, our professor entered with two books in his arms. I just looked at him for a couple of seconds before turning my attention to the window beside me.

My mind drifted off. The scene of me and Felix replayed in my mind. I smiled as I remembered how Felix smiled when I mentioned his place.

I was pertaining to his favorite place. A club where his favorite band plays. The oh-so-called Day6. They're the best band I've ever encountered so far.

I don't know their names but I know how good they are when they started playing their pieces.

"Our next topic is about mythical creatures."

I was awoken by my professor's voice. Mythical creatures?

"We'll start off the discussion with Vampires. Also known as blood-suckers for obvious reasons."

Ugh. I knew it! Of all mythical creatures, why did he put Vampires first?! This is fucking insane!

"They suck blood in a person's neck as we all know. They've been seen on many fictional movies as characters."

"Now, it's your turn to tell what you know about Vampires. Just raise your hand and I'll call you." He said. They remained silent. I guess no one knows about--

"Yes, Minho?" I slowly looked to my left where that person is currently sitting.

I was shocked to see how he smiled. I unintentionally read his mind. I was shocked when I saw how much information he knows about us.

Some are absolutely true while others are just rumors or false news. But one thing caught my attention to the fullest.

How did he know our family?!

"Sir, I got many things to tell you. I have gathered many pieces of information about Vampires." He said with a proud voice.

"How did you know anything about Vampires?"

"I liked Vampires since I'm like... 10? Anyway, I studied about them since then." He said with a smile.

"Oh okay, what do you know about them? Tell us some." Our professor said. I started to panic. They shouldn't know many things about us.

"Well, sir--" He was cut when our room's door opened. Good call.

The secretary of the student council entered inside accompanied by... Felix? What the hell is he doing here?!

Felix looked at me. His eyes are telling me to read his mind. I was curious so I did.

'You might be shocked by why am I here. I just manipulated some of the shitty brains of our student council officers. It's boring here. And besides, Day6 will be performing earlier than they usually did today!'

He then winked at me. Eww!

"Class dismissed! You may go." I quickly grabbed my black bag swinging it to my shoulder swiftly.

"Nice one, brother," I said to Felix's mind. He just smiled at me before we head to go out.

"What?! How?!"

"Felix! Stop shouting will you?!" I said, annoyed by Felix's attitude. He's been shouting after I told him what happened earlier on our way to the club.

"I'm sorry, okay? I'm just worried. What if they know about us going to that university?! Everyone will be hurt! You know how our family plays!" He muttered while looking down. Our family? Tsk!

"Their family. Did you already forget it? We're not part of that family anymore."

"Brother..."

"It's true, Felix. We're not part of them. Because we're much better than their homophobic asses." I bitterly said.

He shut his mouth after my words. Our way to the club is silent.

We entered the club. We saw the band setting their instruments on the stage. Felix rushed to sit to the nearest table to the small stage.

"Oh! I forgot to tell you. I invited my--"

"Felix!" I was startled when someone shouted Felix's name.

"Hyunjin hyung! Jeongin! Seungmin!" He called three names that weren't familiar to me at all. The three went to our table. They sat at the three chairs that are left.

I looked at Felix with a questioning look. He got what I meant immediately.

"Brother, this is Hyunjin hyung." He pointed to the one who has black hair. "He's a Vampire too. He's one of the Hwang's. The third in the ranking."

Third? Not bad.

"This one is Seungmin." He pointed to the one who has brown hair. "He's a human turned into Vampire. He's actually Hyunjin hyung's boyfriend and he turned him into one of us."

Now I get why Hyunjin is clinging to Seungmin too much. As if someone will take him away. Tsk.

"And this is Jeongin." He pointed to the one who has red hair. "He's a fox hybrid but he can make his fox ears and tail disappear."

As if on cue, that Jeongin made his fox ears and tail appear. Not to lie but his animal hybrid got along with his face so well.

"Hyunjin hyung is months older than me and so does to you. While Seungmin is months younger than us and Jeongin is a year younger than us." He said.

"Whatever," I said as I waited for Day6 to finish testing their instruments.

"Rude."

"Tsk." Finally. They finished testing their instruments. That one guy with small eyes—I forgot his name—said that they're starting.

Felix ordered drinks. They can't handle alcohol that well so they decided to get a light one not like me go aimed for the hard ones.

"Congratulations, so you win again, woah,
Congratulations, you just took away, woah,
Our memories so far,
They're gone, just like you are,
Now, all I have is me, and it's getting too hard.

My memories with my once happy life with that homophobic family suddenly entered my mind.

"I saw it on your face, yeah,
I knew you too damn well, yeah,
I heard you laugh and knew that you did more than, move on."

"I hate that you're happy,
I hate that I can't sleep,
Keep thinking about how he now seems better off, too,
Just like I was with you."

I remembered how they smiled when we left. My mood goes so bad right off the bat after they finished playing.

I should be enjoying their show but I can't. Felix and his friends seem to enjoy the show. I saw how they smiled with each other.

Suddenly, Felix started laughing alongside Jeongin while the two left were looking at each other with a grin.

I smiled bitterly to myself as I continued to stare at them.

Why do I felt like I don't belong here?

Why do I felt jealous?
