~Chapter 29~

-Officially A Royal Family

(Caroline's POV)

The Reception had just started and was already filled with tons of people. Since me and Stephan didn't know many people we just had his parents do the guest list. But everything looked amazing and everyone was having a great time.

We decided since my kingdom was joining Stephan's kingdom that the party be themed purple. Purple was Stephan's kingdoms color, along with silver. The whole room was lit with purple and Stephan, Lily, and I were all wearing purple as well. Our wedding cake stood tall and proud as the center piece for the buffet table. On the opposite side there was a stage with three pillars that each had a crown on it with glass casing over it. That was for the ceremony being held later tonight.

Stephan's parents said that they would be taking Lily for the rest of the night so me and Stephan can do our own thing and actually talk to people without Lily begging for attention. We didn't bother objecting to what they said because we both knew they weren't going to change their minds. We didn't mind them taking care of Lily. It was just kind of weird for her not to be around us since she hadn't left our sight since she was born, even though Lily was only a month old.

I was just was currently staring at our very big wedding cake. It was elegant and very pretty. It better taste as good as it looks. That's when I felt to arms slither around my waist.

"Hello my dear wife." Said the voice behind me. I automatically knew it was Stephan.

"Are you going to keep saying that?" I ask.

"Saying what? Wife?" He asked.

"Yes." I answered.

"Of course. I love the way it sounds." He said burying his face in my neck.

"Well you have a lifetime to say it, so don't wear it out. Plus you should be use to it by now. There is a reason why I have this ring on my finger, you know." I say.

"Did you see what your ring says?" He ask, turning me around.

"I've seen my mothers ring a million times, it doesn't say anything on it." I say a little confused.

"It does now. Look on the inside of your ring." He said with a smirk.

"You just put this ring on a few hours ago and your asking me to take if off now. What kind of a marriage is this?" I joke.

"I'll put it on again if it makes you happy. Just look." He says. I pull the ring off of my finger and look at the inside band. In fancy writing was engraved the word 'Knight' on the inside. "I put Knight because it's your new last name now." He said smiling.

"When did you get this done? I always had my mothers ring around my neck, the same way you gave it to me the night in the garden." I say, still a little confused.

"Remember when I was all dressed up the day I told you about the Dinner Party?" He asked and I nodded. "Well, earlier when we were at the restaurant and I gave Lily the teddy bear she stopped playing with your necklace. You seemed so caught up with Lily that I picked it up so you wouldn't forget it. A little later when we got home, the idea of doing something special with it popped in my head. So I got ready and went to the engravers after I put you to bed." He explained.

"That's so sweet. Why just Knight though?" I asked.

"We share the name. My father did the same thing with my mothers ring. I remember him telling me that if I put your first name it would be like you own the name. But if I put just the last name we share it. Showing that this is a family and none of us owns the other." He explained.

"Wow, that's really true. I never thought about it that way." I say looking up at him in amazement.

"And look." He said, putting his hand in front of me to show that his ring said the same thing only on the outside. "We share the name. And I'm glad I'm sharing it with you." He said taking my ring out of my hand and putting it back on my finger.

"I'm glad to have it." I said and he kissed me on the forehead.

"Can Stephan and Caroline Knight please come up to the stage." Someone said through the mic.

We walked on stage and there Stephan's parents stood smiling at us. Stephan's mom handed Lily to me and everyone's eyes were now on us.

"Stephan, Caroline, and Lily Knight stand before you today to accept their rightful places as the newest King, Queen, and future Queen of the now joint kingdoms of Aidnan and Bellina." The lady announced and everyone clapped.

"Please step forward." Stephan's father said and we stepped forward. "Do you promise to take this duty of responsibly seriously?" He asked.

"Yes." We answered.

"Do you promise not to abuse your power, but use it for the good of your kingdom?" Stephan's mother asked.

"Yes." We both said.

"And finally, do you promise to treat every person fairly and not make bias decisions, not matter what situations arise?" His father asked.

"Yes." We both said.

"Then I hereby crown you as the new royal family of the joint kingdoms of Aidnan and Bellina." His mother said and three people stepped forward, one of them being a little girl, each holding a crown.

Stephan and I tilted our heads down and the crowns were placed upon our heads. The little girl came up to me with Lily's crown in her hands and I bent down to her height. She placed it on top of Lily's head and I gave her an encouraging smile and said 'thank you', to which she smiled and bowed before retreating to the other two people who looked like her parents. Everyone clapped and we stood a little longer while the press took a few pictures before they were escorted out of the venue because this was a private event.

When we made it back to our table we took a seat just as Stephan's parents were coming over to sit with us. They gave us a smile and sat across from us at the round table. Lily sat on my lap with her crown in her hands already playing with it.

"Just because you don't have my ring to chew on doesn't mean you can chew on this as well." I said taking the crown out of her mouth.

Stephan's mother chuckled before saying, "Stephan did the same thing when he got his crown."

"Mother." Stephan groaned in annoyance.

"What? You were only a few months old. It's not like you were five." She said chuckling at his annoyance.

"But still, Caroline's here." He mumbled.

"I'm sure Caroline could careless about you habits at this point. If she cared and they annoyed her she wouldn't have married you." She said looking straight at Stephan. "I still put up with your fathers habits everyday." She said point to his dad who wasn't paying much attention to the conversation.

"But that's different." He said.

"No it's not." She said. "Anyways, moving on from my wining son, Caroline how are you darling?" She asked looking to me.

"I'm doing well. How are you Mrs. Lucia?" I ask smiling.

"Just call me Lucia. No need for the formalities. And you can call my husband Eric." She said smiling brightly.

"What about me?" Stephan said.

"Its still mom and dad to you." She said pointing at him.

"Lily, stop eating your crown." I mumble, taking the crown out of her mouth again.

"Do you think you can handle another child, Caroline?" Lucia asked.

"No, I honestly don't know how you didn't it with two. Especially with him." I say gesturing to Stephan.

"Hey!" He said realizing what I said.

"I don't either." Lucia said laughing a little. "But would you have a second child?" She asked.

"It's not impossible to take care of two children. It's just this one is a handful already." I said looking at Lily who was chewing on her crown yet again. I just sigh and take it away from her, setting it in front of my plate.

"Stephan was the same way." She said shaking her head.

"Mom." Stephan groaned again.

"She must get it from him then because my parents said I was an angel." I said looking at Stephan. "Here, take her for me, I need to use the bathroom." I said handing Lily to Stephan.

"I need to, too. Eric watch Lily, she's with Stephan." Lucia joked.

"Mom, I know how to take care of my own child, you know." He said.

"Just making sure." She said and we walked out of the huge room and found our way to the bathroom. I used the bathroom and went to wash my hands the same time Lucia was finishing up. "So what do you think? Your officially a royal family, not that you already weren't but still, you know what I mean." She asked.

"I know for a fact it won't be easy. But I hope I can keep this kingdom up as well as my parents did." I answered.

"I know you miss them. But I see a lot of them in you and Lily." Lucia said with a smile. "You still have me and Eric to look at as parents. You can come to us if you don't want to go to Stephan. And I know he can't be serious when he needs to, that's why I'm saying this." She said supportively.

"Thank you." I said and gave her a hug.

"Now let's get back before they lose Lily." She joked. We made it back to the table and I sat down next to Stephan taking Lily back.

"It's time to cut the cake." He said silently telling me to stand up.

I handed Lily to Lucia and we walked over to our huge cake which was already surrounded by a lot of people. We made it through everyone to the cake and the chef handed us a big knife. I took the knife from him, giving him a smile as in to say thank you and Stephan put his hand on mine and put the knife near the cake.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Yep." I said and we both cut into our beautiful wedding cake as everyone cheered. Stephan picked up the slice we cut a brought it to my mouth and I did the same. As we both went to take a bit Stephan squished the cake in my face. So I did the same back to him. People just chuckled at us as the chef began to cut the rest of the cake for everyone.

"Your a goofball." I said cleaning my face with a napkin.

"Come here and give me a kiss." He said pulling me towards him.

"Ew, no. You have cake all over your face." I said trying to get away.

"Oh well." He said and kissed me getting cake all over my face again. "I love you." He said giving me a goofy smile while I sent him a glare.

"Well look what we have here?"
