This story started in perfect timing, not too early, not too late. Written in a well-paced, I really enjoyed how the story rolled from scene to scene. No filler, no unnecessary info dump, just straight off the bat, which I always look for in most books I read.
I also admired how the author effortlessly played with words. It read a bit poetic sometimes but it didn't fall into a long and windy purple prose. Easy to read and fun to follow, which I believe are important keys for any book to be able to hook the readers.
The characters are also well-rounded. The distinctive personalities between the two give the excitement in how they're going to challenge each other as the story progresses.
However, I encountered a problem connecting with the male character. After rereading it a few times, I believe it lies in the POV the author is using. At one glance, it's easy to tell that it's going to be dual POV in a third limited. But the author wrote the first chapter in the third omniscient subjective POV. As a result, the author's voice is way too strong, overpowering the voice of the male character that is being captured in the first chapter. I also had this problem when I read the third chapter while chapter two (the female lead POV) I could connect perfectly fine with her, probably since it's written in third limited, using the female lead's voice. Or maybe this is what the author is aiming for (mixing third limited POV and omniscient subjective POV)? Nonetheless, her narrator's voice felt a bit too strong during the story telling.
In the end, the story is there, capturing and it has a great hook from the very start! Despite a few grammar, punctuations, and run-on sentences (which are very easy to fix when the author starts the editing) the way she navigates the story and delivers the conflicts from the very start definitely makes this story shine like a gem! Well done!

How come such a good book has so few reads? I was really shocked when I started the very first chapter because it deserves a whole lot of attention from many young adults on this platform.
How To Love drives you in from the very first paragraph. From the smooth yet sophisticated writing style, a very clean word building that doesn't tire a reader with superfluous vocabularies but rather simple and a few new ones that spice up the reading. I hardly noticed errors and mistakes—probably one or two humanly errors that can be fixed during editing.
The dialogue was the best part of reading this book, because each character has a personality that brings the conversation to life. It felt real, not forced, and even the MC thought process is on point in regards to her plans and reactions. Descriptively, this book is literally a movie, for I can see and feel everything clearly. It was splendid!
And characters... Woah, I wanted to keep interacting with everyone. Sarah being the lead, I like how perfect and flawed she is at the same time. She's strong and then she's weak, afraid too, despite faking to be bold about her faith and beliefs. I like Chloe and Ryan, too, and mostly Tristan. (I stan Male leads who ain't unnecessarily jerks and bad boys like some kind of a Wattpad stereotype.) It's refreshing finding the guy you'd wish your daughter/sister to date. At least his first impression showed that he's a great guy, not perfect.
