Action-Adventure Results
We are going a little out of order today, but the show must go on! Supernatural creatures/Urban fantasy peeps, sorry again but we ran into a tiny snag. We will get to you, promise!
First of all, I would like to say congratulations to every single one of the participants. Putting yourself out there is not easy, and I commend you for it. I would also like to give one last shoutout to siberiathewriter and paige_aha for their incredible work. I genuinely cannot thank them enough.
Now, the moment you've been waiting for.
I am posting everyone's breakdown (averaged from 2 judges). A couple of participants will get a review, which can also be DM'd to the author upon request. Participants, you might be DM'd with the option to receive advice. You are welcome to refuse or to ask for it later. If you're not DM'd about advice, you may go to me or your judges to ask for additional comments, but no promises. Winners, please DM me your email so I can send the stickers over. Judges, please follow the winner of your genre. If you don't see your book here, that means that you weren't following the rules, and unfortunately, we don't have anything for you.
And now, it's my privilege to announce the results for action-adventure for Season 3 of the Borderverse Awards.

The Claimed: Rashika's Resistance is an immersive story, intelligently created and written with a beautiful style, that captivated me by the prologue. The prologue was an intriguing introduction and setting to the story, that hooked me right away. It shows a terrifying scene captured through a child's eye – creating a moving, yet powerful beginning to the story, and the main character, Espa. The story follows Espa, who is sent on a mission to seduce a mysterious rebel leader, named Izra. As a whole, the plot feels cohesive, keeping you hooked within each chapter. I was highly impressed by your writing style, and the way it creates a beautiful piece of writing that flows together, but your characters also stood out. They felt real, and well thought out. Especially the protagonist – as she felt realistic and interesting. Her relationships with other characters and their interactions felt not only important to the story but also highlighted their personalities well. Each chapter I read was gripping, and the plot and characters worked smoothly together. There were only a few times whilst reading that I felt a little confused, as there were quite a few characters and situations interacting at certain points – and I found that Espa's point of view seemed somewhat lost during these moments. But realistically, that is my only critique, and the book as a whole felt like something I would pick off a bookshelf in a store. I highly recommend this book to anyone!

I appreciate you taking the time to edit your story, not just for the contest but for your readers and future readers as well. This story was good when I first read it and it became that much better after a second look. The title is simple yet unique, and gives the reader just enough of a hint into what the story is about. The cover design is simple and easy to read. I think it could be improved by making the background more clear, and I'm not sure how I feel about the color over the text, but that's personal preference more than anything. A blurb is supposed to define the characters and storyline in a way that pulls readers in, and yours does just that. It's to the point, leaves enough room for suspense, and is specific to the story. An extra challenge always comes with writing a story set in a different time period. Everything from the context, to dialogue, to motivations and plot in this book align and I appreciate that. What I love most, however, is the uniqueness of the characters. Their personalities and situations stand out, leaving the reader wondering what will happen next. They each have family/friends and clear motivations. Lastly, there's no distracting grammar or spelling mishaps.
