xxxiii. voicemails + real life
TOM WALKED INTO A DINER where he was meeting Sasha. He felt very alone with having not to talk to Cori. So, inconveniently, Sasha called him up to have a date together in small diner in New York City. Tom started dating Sasha back in July of last year, but the press only knew that they've been together for a few months.
He searched for Sasha before spotting her in a shaded corner of the diner. He put a fake smile on as he walked towards her. "Hey, Sash." He said quietly. She looked up from her phone and switched it off as he sat down. "Hey, Tommy." She said sweetly.
Tom was actually also slightly irritated with Sasha since when he had a fight with Cori. She never answered his texts or calls, when he needed her the most at the moment. They both sat there in silence, before Sasha spoke. "So, what have you been up to?"
"You would know if you answered any of my calls." He mumbled quietly. "What was that?" She asked, becoming uninterested in what they were doing. Tom huffed in annoyance as he bit his lip in aggravation. "Where were you when I needed you? I tried texting you and calling you. I got into a huge fight with Cori-" He was interrupted by Sasha scoffing at him.
"Why exactly does she need to be brought up while we're here?" She asked curiously, yet annoyed. Tom looked at her sternly before licking his lips. "Why exactly are we together?" He pursed his lips up. Sasha didn't speak on her behalf of the conversation they were having, until Tom got the sign.
"Oh my god, you're cheating on me. Aren't you?" He accused. She gasped at him in shock. "Why on earth would you think that?" Tom rolled his eyes at her. "You don't answer any of my messages, I try calling to set up some dates and-" Tom was interrupted by multiple buzzes from the pocket of his jeans as he spoke.
He ignored them, continuing to lecture Sasha. "I should have listened to them when they said they weren't fond of you." He spat bitterly. Sasha strunk in her seat slightly by his comment. "I should have seen what people say, about how you hop from one to another. I should have listened to her, believed in her, and not you." His eyes softened as he thought of Cori.
Tom gathered his stuff quickly before a voice begged him to stay. "Tom, please. I need you." Sasha begged. Before he stepped out the door, he turned his head towards her to let out a dry laugh. "Yeah, try saying that to the next guy whose gonna be in my place, sooner or later." Then off he went.
Cold air hit Tom's face as he stepped outside. He grabbed his phone out of his pocket as began to walk back to his hotel. He was greeted by many voicemails let by Cori. His face scrunched up in confusion before playing the voicemails.

Tom's eyes widen in horror after hearing her voicemails. He quickly routes out to where she lived, trying to remember. He soon figures out and calls for a cab. "103 Salem Avenue, please." He said quickly, but calmly. The cab driver nodded his head and began to drive.
As the driver parked out in front of Cori's apartment complex, Tom scurried out and payed the taxi cab driver before he ran into the complex. He walked into the elevator, pressing the button to her floor. He reached her floor and walked briskly to her door.
Tom knocked on the door loudly, hearing a muffled voice on the other side. He became worried and started fidgeting with his hands. "Uh," He huffed out trying to see how he could get into her apartment. His head shot up in realization. "The key!" He kneeled down to lift up her door mat and get the spare key she keeps under it.
He put the key in the lock and turned it. When he opened the door, he was greeted with small things and glass littering the floor. His eyes widen as he walked slowly into the apartment. He could hear music playing softly from another room, he then made his way to where the music played.
Tom approached Cori's living room to see her sitting on the rug with her hand leveled up in front her face and singing softly to music playing. "Cori?" Tom asked as he walked towards and squatted down in front of her. "Hey, Tom." She slurred. "What are you doing here?" She asked curiously.
"I got your voicemails," He trailed off to see her hand bleeding profusely. "Oh, love." He said sadly before picking her up and putting her on the couch. "Stay here." He said before getting bandages and medicine. Cori sat there, in her own world, quietly humming the song that played.
Her trance was broken when Tom kneeled down in between her legs and grabbed her hand gently. "Ow." Cori said. "Sorry." He started to lightly dab at the blood that covered her small hand. Cori watched intently. Once he put the bandages on, he looked at Cori softly.
"You need to tell me what's wrong." He said sternly, but softly with his hands resting on her knees. Cori looked away from him and bit her lip, trying not to cry. "Why, so you can go tell Sasha." She slurred. "No, I actually worry for your well being." He said. Cori contemplated on whether she should say it now, or later. She straightened up before speaking.
"Fine, you wanna know? I love you. I love you so much, okay?" She confessed. Tom's eyes widen slightly, not speaking a word. "I fell in love with you the moment you left for Hollywood," She laughed lightly. "I fell in love your stupid face. Your stupid smile, your stupid eyes, your stupid personality." She let out a shaky breath.
"But I hated you so much for leaving me. Leaving me to cope without you there. So when you came back, I wanted to see past that wanting feeling. So, I put the 'I hate you so much' act, but I didn't pull it off very well." She giggled lightly. "I love you, but I don't know if you d-" She was cut off my Tom's lips on hers.
One of Tom's hand moved up to cup her check. They pulled apart for a breath. They both smiled at each other. "You have, no idea how long I've been waiting to do that." He breathed out. "Maybe you could do it more often." Cori said confidently.
"Maybe I will." He smirked, leaning in to kiss her again.
