SOFIA'S POV

After many talks I was able to convince my parents to allow me to continue my education in Villahermosa, Mexico. I am a bit worried about how I will be managing living on my own but I got it. I also chose Mexico because it's filled with the hottest men like cmon. Maybe I can run into one of the actors from my mom's favorite novela. I layed on my bed just scrolling on netflix to watch when I got a notification from my cousin Valentina.

Okay maybe I won't be alone after all so that won't be too bad. I noticed that it was past ten pm so I needed to start getting ready for bed. I decided on taking a shower. After doing a million steps for my shower routine, I chose to end the night by putting on a face mask and a cute night gown. It was a mixture of yellow silk and white lace. Getting all cutesy makes me feel so confident. Slipping on my white slippers, I walked out into the kitchen to get a glass of cold iced water. Besides a good cup of coffee, water to me is what a baby bottle is to a toddler. After gathering what I needed, I returned to my bedroom to begin checking out flights as soon as possible. I grabbed my laptop and layed on my bed with a super soft blanket.

"You have to buy it now, or you'll chicken out" I said to myself.

"You can do it" I repeated to myself over and over when placing a one way plane ticket onto my cart. I chose to sit next to the window because that is ultimately the best seat. As I proceed to check out and reality hits me while I type in my credit card numbers. This is a big commitment. I begin to rub my eyelids as I feel them getting heavy. I close my eyes and drift into a deep slumber.

THE NEXT DAY

I am woken up by the smell of my mother cooking. Today being a Saturday you would expect everyone to sleep in but not here. I rolled off my bed and stretched. I put on a fluffy white rope and begin to head towards the bathroom but not without my phone and speaker. I begin to brush my teeth and then wash my face. As well as making a mental list of things to get done before the day ends. When I finished getting ready for the day, I walked out into the kitchen and notice my mother on the phone. Once we make eye contact she ends the call but not without doing a proper goodbye.

"Que bueno que ya te levantes, porque el dia se acaba rapido" My mother had stated.

"It's barely ten? como es eso ya tarde?" I respond back quickly.

"Okay I called Mary today, te acuerdas de ella?" My mom had stated. I nod while prepping my coffee.

"Well I talked to her about you moving and she would like to welcome you with her family"
