Chapter 3 - Final

It had been two months since the day Taehyung revealed his feelings and everything went back to normal and nothing had changed. Sometimes Jimin even wondered if it really happened or if he just imagined it until he catches Taehyung staring at him somehow longingly.

And every time that happened Jimin felt guilty. It hurt him to hurt his friend like this. It hurt him so much he sometimes wondered if it really would be that bad to be his lover. After all Taehyung was really attractive and Jimin knew that better than anyone else since they had used to often shower together - before at least.
Maybe if he tried it woulnd't be that bad.

What had changed was their circle of friends after Taehyung told them that he was gay. Some didn't seem to care. Some left the circle for good after Jimin got into a fight with them for some rude comments they had made. And some got even closer, being thankful that Taehyung cared and trusted them enough to tell.

One of them was Jung Hoseok or Hobi for short, a really nice guy from Jimin's dance course. He was a year older and had a really bright, energetic personality. Jimin had always liked him and admired him for his dance skills. They got along well and since Tae often visites him at the practice they eventually met and had gotten along really well already before. Turns out Hoseok was bisexual and had a lot of experience to share.

Even though Jimin was glad that Taehyung found someone he good talk with and that actually understood him, it also bugged him that Tae spent so much time with him. More than he wanted to acknowledge.

He always told himself that he was jealous because he wasn't able to help Taehyung in this particular aspect even though he was his best friend. And because Hoseok took up a lot of Tae's free time that they would have usually spent together. The fact that they always invited Jimin to join them - and he most of the time actually did - didn't matter at all.

This afternoon they wanted to go shopping. Jimin and Hoseok had dance training and Taehyung came over to meet up with them. After they finished up with class they went for a shower. Hoseok had already finished and left to accompany Tae who was waiting outside.

Jimin tried to finish up as fast as possible and went after Hoseok.

When he arrived by the corner to the vending machine where they usually met, he wanted to yell at them to hurry up but abruptly stopped in his movements instead. His brain had trouble to comprehend the scene that unfolded in front of him.

Taehyung was standing probably three meters away from him with his back to Jimin. Hobi was right in front of Tae or more like pressed against his body with one arm around Tae's lower back, the other on his neck, thump caressing his cheek, drawing his face closer and until he met his lips with Tae's.

It looked like a damn kiss but that simply wasn't possible since Taehyung was in love with him, right? And in this case he wasn't supposed to kiss just someone else. But just what on earth should it be if not a kiss?

Jimin slowly began to comprehend that his best friend who confessed to him was actually kissing another guy. And that he had all right to do so since Jimin had rejected him.

Just why did it feel so wrong?

Jimin wasn't able to move. Nor to say anything. He just stood there and watched. Watched how they kissed, how Taehyung pulled back after a while and let his hands slide down from Hoseok's shoulder and back. Watched how Hobi warmly smiled at Tae before he ruffled his hair and took a step back as well, smiling his stupid, infectious bright smile.

When Hoseok moved his eyes met Jimin's and he seemed surprised. Not shocked or guilty like he did something wrong but just surprised that Jimin stood there without making himself noticed.

The thing is Jimin had to hold back really hard from making himself noticed. Because if he did, he would surely yell at Hoseok to never lay his damn hands on Taehyung again or would even punch that hateful, kindly smiling mouth of his that were still a bit wet from the kiss!

But Jimin had no right to do that, how he reminded himself.

He also had no right to yell at Taehyung what the hell he was thinking letting Hobi do what he wanted.

He gave up on it when he rejected Taehyung.

And for that he was mad at himself. How could he have been so stupid to reject the one person he would die for? He'd do anything for this guy but couldn't handle a little physical contact? What a joke. Judged by the amount of jealousy and anger that stormed in him he would do it without a problem. More like gladly!

But it was too late now and he lost the rights a lover would have and that's exactly the reason why he wasn't able to move.

Taehyung had turned around after noticing the change in Hoseok's expression and looked at him in a mixture of guilt, surprise and curiosity. He was probably asking himself why Jimin was standing there like an idiot not batting an eyelash and not making a single sound.

After some time, that felt like an eternity but rather had been a minute or two, Taehyung seemed to have figured out that Jimin wasn't able to calm down on his own. He turned to Hoseok and told him that they had to delay their shopping trip because he and Jimin had something else to do. Hobi just nodded, one of his smiles on his lips and told him to go ahead.
Somehow there was a knowing vibe to his voice nut Jimin couldn't conxetrate on that right know.

"Jiminie, come on, let's go." Taehyung said. When he noticed that Jimin still wasn't moving he grabbed his hand and pulled him along. They were headed back to the dance studio since it was normally unoccupied at this hour.

Once they reached the studio Tae wanted to let go of Jimin's hand but Jimin refused to and kept his grip tight until Tae closed his hand over his once again, giving him a reassuring press.

"What's wrong, Jiminie?"

Jimin just looked up at him, not saying anything until Tae looked quite uncomfortable under his stare.

"Is it... have you seen Hobi and m-"

Jimin really had tried to calm himself down but when Tae used Hoseok's nickname instead of his name something exploded in him. The hand that was still in Taehyung's yanked at his arm and pulled him closer while Jimin reached with his free hand behind Tae's head and pulled him down (god how he hated to be smaller than him!) and pressed his lips against the tallers.

It was hard and desperate, full of fear Taehyung would reject him, push him away. But this time it was Tae who couldn't move.

When Jimin noticed it, he softened his kiss, put all the feelings he hadn't known he had into it until Tae responded to it.

By the time Jimin ended the kiss both their lips were deep red and swollen. Taehyung looked somewhat starstruck by what happened and really sexy with this dishevelled look.

"Please tell me that I kiss better than that stupid happy dance fanatic!"

Taehyung got out of his rigor and laughed. It at least reassured Jimin that whatever might happen now, they would still be able to be friends.

"You're a stupid dance fanatic, too! Already forgotten?
As for the kiss... Well actually, Hobi's technique is really good." He chuckled when he saw the pained and unsure expression that took over Jimin's face. "BUT... I like yours way better!"

Jimin looked at him relieved and got caught up in Taehyung's beautiful eyes that went serious again.

"You know, what happened with Hobi..."

"Do you have to say his name with so much affection?" Jimin asked, before a terrible thought crossed his mind. "Are you now into him?"

Tae shook his head.

"That's not... We are friends. We were both stuck in an unrequited love and thought maybe it would help to go out with each other, you know, licking each others wounds. That's why we tried to kiss, see if there was any spark, but you crept into my thoughts the whole time and it didn't feel right... I think Hobi felt the same."

Jimin was surpised by the amount of relief he felt.

"Jiminie, just... what was this?" Taehyung asked, touching his abused lips with his slender fingers to remind Jimin of the kiss.

"A kiss" Jimin answered dumbly.

"Yeah, thanks for the info, I notice that on my own... What I want to know is the meaning of it. Did you just want to try yourself after you saw Hobi and me? Or did you get angry because someone tried to take what was supposed to be your toy; well you know what I mean coz of the confession and so..?
Or... was it something... more?

The last sentence came out very quietly and sounded almost afraid. What happened to his overly self-confident friend? Did Jimin do this to him? He didn't like it one bit; he wanted Taehyung to be as confident in himself as even possible because if someone deserved to be it, then it was him! Who would dare not to love such a beautiful being inside out?

Sure enough Jimin wouldn't, like he finally realised in this very moment. His love that was supposed only to be friendshipfeels was so much more. He loved this guy with his whole being and wanted to share every moment of his life with him - and that included some romantic kisses and way too dirty thoughts for friends.

"God Taehyungie, it's something more. So much more! Right now I'm wondering how I once was able to think I could actually find someone that I would love even more than you. What a joke! I seriously don't know how that should be possible since you mean the world to me. That's why, if you haven't already moved on, give me a second chance. Give us a chance, please."

It was uncomfortably silent for a while before Taehyung reached his hand out to touch his cheek and Jimin grabbed his wrist to hold him right in place while he looked him in the eyes.

"Will we be okay? Aren't you afraid this will ruin the friendship we have? I don't want to lose you over some desires." Taehyung confessed quietly.

"Damn me if I'm not afraid as hell! But since nine years ago we did everything together and I want us to do this together, too! And as things are now I think neither of us can return to the old times anymore and pretend there are no feelings involved anyway, can you?"

Taehyung shook his head while a slow smile spread on his lips.

"Then that's it. Both of us want it so why not try it? Let's do it, I'm sure we're gonna make all those couples around us green from envy with our lovey-dovey relationship!" Jimin grinned, then took a deep breath for his next sentence.
"So... I guess we're dating now?"

"Don't sound like you're about to jump from an airplane with nothing but an umbrella on you!" Tae laughed at him.

"Well that's exactly how I feel right now, thank you for the concern!" Jimin replied, miming an appalled pout.

Taehyung laughed.

"Seriously Jimin, I think we should take it slow from here on but when you make that pouty face I can only think about kissing those beautiful, full lips. Again." He added with a mischievous smirk.

Jimin tried to maintain his face but couldn't help his lips pulling into a smile.

"You know, just do what you want!"
