«NARRATION»

It all started five years back on that dreadful day in Choi Lalisa's life.

When she first fell in love.

Her life escalated into a beautiful fairytale ㅡ she dated her childhood sweetheart, Kim Min Jae for those five years. She was blindly and hopelessly in love with him, until the marriage proposals came knocking at her door.

After much time convincing her parents to let her marry the only man she had loved all her life, Lalisa was probably the happiest bride on her wedding day.

And that was until tragedy struck.

Her first love, her first kiss, her first everything ㅡ left her just a day prior to the wedding after confessing to her that he had been cheating on her, with one of her own bridesmaids, Lee Areum.

He left her devastated and completely heartbroken.

Days passed into weeks and months, Lalisa grew increasingly quiet and reserved. She knew she had become a mere embarrassment for her parents, that further worsened their ties with her. They would always pacify her, convince that it wasn't her fault ㅡ but little did they know how hard it was to accept the bitter truth and subsequently move on.

This later ensued her marriage with Kim Taehyung, one of her father's colleague's son. The few times she had met him, she found that he was a shy guy and a very kind person. He had all qualities and an ideal person would, he was perfect in Lalisa's eyes.

But unfortunately, it wasn't how she wanted it to be. She couldn't feel the same way she felt before, maybe because she had lost faith over falling in love again.

And so, she married him pretty much without a choice.

On the other hand, Taehyung was seemingly different. He knew everything about the past incident from Lalisa's life, yet he showed no objection in marrying her.

He was slowly falling for her and although Lisa ignored him most of the time, he would comfort himself at the thought that she might need a longer time to patch up the cracks in their namesake relationship.

To Lisa it was just an arranged marriage with a stranger she would be living with her entire life, but not for Taehyung. He wished to know more about her and do everything it takes to have her give up her stubbornness.

Lisa felt the pain and anger eat her up. She felt guilty of having Taehyung cutely make dishes for her, accompany her in the smallest of chores around the house yet she didn't do anything to reciprocate her feelings. She was still unsure if she liked him too ㅡ and since she had no one to share her pain with, everything came out as an outburst at her husband whenever he did a small mistake.

She was fed up with the toxicity that was slowly becoming prevalent in their marriage. But alas, she just didn't know how she would stop it.

Nearly a year had passed to their marriage, yet there wasn't a spark of progress. The couple lived together in the same house but slept separately, only greeting each other before work and sitting together for dinners.

Until it was this evening, on their anniversary that something was starting to change. And surprisingly, it was on Lisa's part.

"I want you to clear my schedules for the week and if possible check with Taehyung's secretary if he can be free too." Lisa informed her secretary over the call, just when Taehyung stepped into the house.

"I heard my name, something happened?"

"No, I just wanted to clear our schedules, for a week if you don't object..."

"Oh, and why is that so?" Taehyung asked confused with the sudden change in plans of his cold wife. But instead of giving him a sharp answer, she decided to divert the topic instead.

"Ah, nothing. Do you wish to go out somewhere? Like a vacation of some sort? Because I figured we haven't had any, after the m-marriage y'know..." Lalisa faltered a little towards the end, causing Taehyung's lips to twitch upwards into a smile which she didn't happen to notice.

"Yes." He answered, excitement slowly building up inside him.

"Then we might have to discuss where we will be travelling. For now, you should get changed and have dinner." Her voice didn't sound cold nor rude for the first time. It was how someone would describe it, soft.

He gave a quick nod before rushing into his room, sneakily smiling at the change of mood his wife rarely was in.

Descending down the stairs, he made his way to the dining table, before proceeding to eat in silence.

"How was your day?" Lalisa asked for the first time in a while.

"Stressful." Taehyung heaved out a sigh. "There was a lot of work to attend and meetings to supervise, I'm glad I could finish on time."

Lalisa merely nodded, before settling down for lighter conversations. This only included simple, day-to-day questions instead of sincere ones. Anyone would describe the scenario as awkward, but for them it was an ice breaker, a second chance to run the marriage together.

There were sparks of lightening followed by clashes of thunder, causing Lisa to flinch in shock sometimes as she ate. Getting hold of the situation, Taehyung chose to move his seat closer, hesitantly placing his hand over her other one ㅡ in an attempt to relax her.

"Can y-you...sleep next to me tonight?"

She proposed, taking Taehyung in surprise as he eventually nodded at her request.

Soon after when the night fell, Taehyung rushed into Lisa's room in a pair of purple pajamas, before helping her settle the bed.

"Those pajamas...they look good on you." She never complimented his looks, but this time the simplicity in his night wear made him look so cute.

"Thanks." He replied, his lips unable to control the happiness erupting from inside.

Taehyung awkwardly lay by her side hoping to keep a reasonable amount of distance, so that his closeness didn't pose as a hindrance to Lalisa's comfort.

It was around three and Lalisa was still unable to sleep. She turned over to find Taehyung softly snoring, holding a pillow tightly in his embrace that somehow made her smile, looking at his angelic face.

Slowly rising from the bed, she noticed the clear sky outside, free from the torrential rain from hours back.

"Maybe I should get some fresh air before sleep." Lalisa mumbled an inaudible whisper before padding her way towards the balcony to feel a gush of cool breeze brush against her face. She left the door ajar before stepping forward to rest her arms against the railings.

Lalisa's eyes radiated of tranquility as she looked down to get a view of the cityloghts and the skyscrapers she was surrounded with. There wasn't a lot of honking of the cars, as the city spoke a language of quietness, invoking the sense of a calming scenario around.

"Lisa?" Taehyung's raspy voice seemed to have engulfed Lisa into a different level of fantasy.

He pushed the door a little more, before stepping his foot next to hers. "Are you okay? I thought someone broke in for a second."

"I just wanted to get some sleep so I thought of dropping by the balcony. I'm sorry I left the door-"

He nodded, getting a hint of what she meant before he stood beside, observing the same scenery, the breeze gently brushing a few strands of his hair.

"Don't you think the view is beautiful?" He asked in a hoarse, groggy tone as Lisa admired his features up close. The way his face radiated even in the dark made Lisa think that probably Taehyung was the son of the visual god, if he weren't a human.

She hums in response, admiring the dazzling starry night floating with stars.

"What are you thinking about?" He questioned, grinning at his wife who had been staring at him all this while. Lisa blushed under his gaze, before moving a little close to him ㅡ only to intertwine her hands with his.

"I was just thinking how the smallest of things can be beautiful, if looked from a different perspective." She answered, reminiscing the past mistakes of their relationship and how willing she was to correct them.

"I was thinking about you. I don't know if we were destined to be like this or it was the turn of events that caused so, but one thing I can be sure of is that I have someone who's kind and heavenly. You're an angel, Lisa." Taehyung expressed, Lisa's heart warming up to his indirect confession of love.

She snuggles into his embrace, to experience a feeling of warmth that had been lacking for such a long time.

"Taehyung. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, for not being there for you when you did everything for me, it was insensitive of how I have been to you the entire year. I didn't-" jerk eyes glistened, as Taehyung wiped her tears off, acknowledging her words.

"Do you wish to give this a chance?"

The moment was too enticing as Lisa felt an adrenaline rush in her body ㅡ her heart racing and her skin now flaring up with some wonderful goosebumps.

"Yes." She shook her head. "I'm willing to."

Stepping on her toes, she pressed her lips to his for a kiss, before heading back in to return to their sweet, well deserved slumber.

Lisa wasn't the one who would easily express what they felt, but she still tried to and this was what Taehyung needed to stay contented in his life. Because it were for these little things, that made their lives a spectacle to remember.

FIN.
