In the car, it was tense but more for Bakugou than yourself. Mostly because you just stared at your hands like there was something on them without saying a word. This isn't the night that the blonde had planned, but the fact you were allowing him to go with you meant more than you would ever know. Even if it was only due to the fact that you were so out of it, that your mind whirred with the guilt of your dad's current condition.
It was 2 weeks from Christmas and the incident had happened at Halloween when he'd jumped in front of a bullet intended for you. The bullet coming from a gun that you had purchased for protection against a group including your ex-boyfriend Dabi that for some reason had it out for your family. In the past, the leader Alf O'rone had even poisoned your mother and intended to do the same to yourself.
Bakugou had been there for you through all of this, knowing the struggle that was most likely going on in your mind. So, he let you work things out in your head whilst he drove knowing that if you needed it, he'd be there to give you a reality check. Not realising that all the events that had led until this moment had been slowly chipping away at you mentally.
From the day you caught your ex-boyfriend cheating your life had changed dramatically and not all of it had been bad. You met amazing people and one of them was sat next to you.
Seeing the hospital in sight Bakugou's eyes kept glancing over to you still sat in silence staring at your hands. Not sure if you were actually going to want him to go in or not, so he'd decided that he would wait in the car. It wasn't his business, and he didn't want to impose unless you wanted him there.
Parking the car, you sat there still staring down as if you'd not realised the car had actually stopped and the engine was no longer running.
"We're here," a soft whisper left Bakugou's dry lips not wanting to startle you, but it still did make you jump. "Sorry, I didn't make you jump." placing his warm hand on your hands, your eyes went wide at how warm they felt.
"I'll stay here. Take as long as you need," trying to keep his voice calm, natural but most of all removing any form of need he felt to come with you.
Glancing from your hands upon one another you finally looked at the man sat in the driving seat of your car, as if seeing him for the first time. Deep down you didn't want to go through this alone, and you knew that this may give him the wrong impression, but your selfish desires took over. Linking your fingers into his, it made the red eyes staring at you widen as you gazed into them with the look of someone who is lost in your eyes.
"Please, don't make me go on my own," pleading with the ash blonde to comfort you.
"Are you sure?" Bakugou's over hands moved to your cheek all on its own, he didn't mean to take advantage of your frail state, but he couldn't help it as his thumb grazed over your cheekbone smoothly. The sign that you didn't flinch made the man smile internally, but he didn't push further until your own hand was placed over his holding the hands firm to your cheek. The comfort of his touch was what you needed right now, only answering by nodding.
"Okay sweet cheeks, let's go find out what is happening," Of course, Bakugou had no clue what had been said on the phone but whatever it had been, wasn't good and had left you in a bad state emotionally.
The two of you left the warmth of the car to the cold car park, walking hand in hand into the hospital and looking for the correct place to go. It took about 20 minutes to find the right ward, after Bakugou lost his temper on your behalf, telling them that they're a joke if they don't know where a patient as famous as All Might was.
Upon getting to the private waiting room, Sebastian was in there looking as he always did as was Claude, but you Gramps looked worried. It was a rare sight to see on the old businessman's face that Bakugou was positive that the man never panics or worried about anything. Your Gramps always had a plan or a scheme going the time that the ash-blonde had met him, but right now it was a completely different man stood in front of him.
As those in the room heard the door open, they first saw you but then their attention was instantly drawn to Bakugou. It wasn't a secret to these men that Bakugou was the father as far as you believed. They'd found out earlier that day when you had spoken to your dad on the phone, who at the time was laughing and joking.
"(F/n)," Gramps gasped rushing over, hugging you instantly and swiftly. Your hand tightened on Bakugou's, not wanting his warmth to disappear. The ash-blonde stood awkwardly as Gramps hugged you, telling you that it will be ok, the best doctors are on the case before eventually letting go.
"Thank you, Bakugou for bringing (f/n). She will be ok now, so you can go," Gramps didn't know whether he had forced his way here, since the boy wasn't known to have a calm temper. Bakugou started to get annoyed at the comment but stopped when you clung to his arm not willing to let him leave.
"Please don't make him go, Grandad," a feeble, weak voice and extremely formal sentence left your mouth with a hint of desperation. In all the months Bakugou had known you, he'd not once heard you call the old man anything but Gramps. The old man in question looked at the confused looking boy you clung to and then to yourself.
Sighing deeply, he understood why Bakugou was the one you had clung to and it wasn't just because you were carrying his babies. Out of all of your lovers apart from maybe Kirishima, Bakugou had been the one that stood out to your Gramps. Not all for good reasons, but whenever he'd seen the two of you together, he'd seen the same look in his eyes that he'd had in his own eyes when your Grandma had been alive.
It was true love, a love that would easily get you through the test of time and come out stronger than it ever was. The two of you just weren't aware of it yet, but Gramps felt that even if you'd have not been pregnant, the two of you would have sought out the other later in life.
"Ok, sweetie. Young Bakugou, please can you make sure that whatever you find out isn't leaked to the press," Gramps glared at the guy who glared back with just as much deviance.
"Tch!" was his response, making you Gramps roll his eyes as he knew full well that this guy was extremely tight-lipped when it came to important matters. With this said, Bakugou led you to the sofa in the room making you sit down as he sat down. It was hours of waiting, that you snuggled yourself into Bakugou, that when you fell asleep, he moved you to lie on his lap so that you were more comfortable.
Stroking your hair, he was beginning to get sleepy himself and at some point, drifted off to sleep sat up. Only waking when someone came into the room to inform you all of what had happened. Softly he tapped your nose, stroking your hair to try to coax you out of your sleep.
"(f/n), wake up. The docs here," Bakugou's voice was sleepy as he yawned, but the movement and his voice stirred you in your sleep. Eyelids feeling extremely heavy, but you felt extremely warm and cosy.
Blinking a couple of times, you saw Stein stood there, clearly waiting for you to be awake to hear the information he had. Sitting up, you went to get up but your legs were still extremely heavy from the sleep.
"Stay sat," Stein stated, taking a seat himself in a comfy armchair, yawning from being in surgery for the past few hours.
"What's the news?" Gramps sat on the other side of you, taking your hand in his as your other hand found its way back into Bakugou's warm grip.
"So, it seems there was an infection on the scarring in his stomach and it was rejecting the stitching that was placed to close it. We've had to remove that part of his stomach. Unfortunately, he could be in the hospital for at least the next 6 weeks so that we can monitor him thoroughly throughout the week." the news clearly shocked you, as your grip on both hands tightened.
"Can I see him?" your tiny voice was almost drowned out by the sound of your heart beating so fast.
"Yes, he is resting and most likely won't be fully conscious until tomorrow." Stein looked over you in your anxious state. "Miss Yagi, I need you to know that your dad will be completely fine now. In your condition, you need to be making sure that you don't get overstressed. I will give you a leaflet on how to help ok?" The surgery was extremely concerned about your mental health, just as everyone else currently was at the moment.
"I'll be ok," lying to yourself, but Bakugou was not going to let that slide.
"To hell, you'll be fine, Doc what can I do to help?" Bakugou looked into the doctor's eyes, clearly nervous himself about becoming a dad. That's what Stein assumed anyway, that the only reason he'd be here and asking was if he was the father.
"hmm. Make sure she gets to sleep. Eating fresh food, not junk. At Least 10 mins exercise, walking or something that makes her work out..." Stein glanced at Bakugou and it was clear from the perverted look on his face, he'd thought of an exercise he could certainly help with making the doctor chuckle slightly. Stein wasn't the only one that noticed the thought on the younger man's face.
"It's also good she has support, the two of you also need to make sure you do research on what to expect as it's a scary thing becoming new parents. (f/n)'s body is going to change in many ways and when they arrive, there is so much you need to know. Of course, there will be antenatal classes for you to attend. Most importantly, taking the time to relax each day, rubbing her feet, taking a bubble bath those kinda things. Yoga is good as well," the doctor listed a few more things off. With each new thing, Bakugou was making a note in his head as you just listened to him a little dazed at all the information.
"Doctor, I'm not here because of me. I'm here because my dad is sick," Snapping at Stein, it didn't faze him in the least.
"Sweetcheeks, don't be a bitch." Bakugou snapped earning him a glare from everyone but Stein, who sense the tension in the room.
"Ok let's go see your dad for five mins. Then I suggest you all go and get some rest." without another word he got up, directing you to where your dad was lying still fast asleep. The large man was getting skinnier by the week, but he currently looked peaceful, giving you some form of reassurance that he would be ok.
Walking into the room, you placed your hand on your dad's large one finally letting go of Bakugou's.
"Hey Dad, you need to get better ok?" sniffling as you looked at the man. Bakugou decided this was something you had to do on your own and stepped outside to wait until you were done. As he did, Stein stood waiting for him.
"So, big shock," the doctor stated confusing the ash blonde.
"Huh? What ya on 'bout?" snarling at the man, as he wasn't in the mood for riddles. He was still extremely tired himself.
"Becoming a dad...to twins no less." the man chuckled making Bakugou roll his red eyes. "Here's my card. Miss Yagi is my patient, sort of my boss in a way. Let me know if anything changes. She certainly won't tell me." that made both men chortle, then turning to see you walk back at the room looking around worried before your eyes landed on Bakugou.
"I'll be back tomorrow if that's ok?" glancing from Stein to Bakugou, the doctor just nodded.
"Yep. If I'm not here. I'll be sleeping still." without a bye or anything the doctor left.
"Are you coming home tonight Miss Yagi?" Sebastian was stood behind you, looking between yourself and Bakugou.
"No, she can come back to mine. I don't think it's best she is on her own," Bakugou's dry voice was more of an order, not a statement. It was clear there was no arguing with his logic.
"That sounds like it's the best, don't you think Mr (L/N)?" The black-haired butler turned to face the older man just walking out of the hospital room.
"Yes. I believe it would be. I'll be staying at yours for the next few days," your Gramps looked between yourself and Bakugou, before giving you a big hug. "Make sure you have a good night sleep before you come home tomorrow," letting you go, your eyes wandered to the kind, but tired eyes of your Grandfather.
"Ok, night. Love you," Letting Bakugou begin to walk you back to the car. As you went Gramps, Sebastian and Claude watched as you were obediently led away.
"Do you think that this is actually a good idea?" Claude finally spoke up to question his employer, who in turn smirked back at the two butlers.
"He is the father of my great-grandchildren. Plus, he loves her. There is no better person to protect her," smiling at the thought of having babies in the family again, it cheered the old man up. "Let's go home. I'm shattered and I need a stiff drink," the three men left.
Bakugou drove you both back to the dorms, as soon as the car had started to move, you'd fallen asleep in your seat, with your hand on the man's leg. Still not willing to let go in case he vanished as well. Even though Bakugou himself was tired, the warmth from your hand on his leg put a huge smile on his face as he glanced at your moonlit sleeping face.
'She back...just for me,' was the thing that played through his head the whole way home.
