Leo wants to choose his own mate. In his eyes, Chris is Perfect with a capital P. When his real mate rudely barges in and nearly kills his cousin, he's convinced that rejection is the only way to go. Only when his cousin, Max, begs him to give Austin a chance does he relent. He definitely feels something for this man, but Chris is still at the front of his mind.

Austin comes back to the pack for the first time in three years. The last time he was here, Elder David was still Alpha. After finding his mate and making a terrible mistake, he's desperate to win him. And Leo only seems determined to hate him. Never has he seen a sub as adorable as Leo. Never has he wanted someone so bad. But he has competition, some of them very underhanded.

And then to top it off, his past comes back to haunt him and threatens his Leo. It seems like he can never win.
