"Mummy," Kaely walked into the bathroom as I quickly picked up what was lying on the counter.
"What was that, mummy?" She asked.
"That wasn't anything, Kaely. Mummy's fine," I told her.
"Mummy, are you sure?" She asked.
"Yes, that was just a pregnancy test," I held it in my hand.
"What's that?" She came closer to me.
"It tells you if mummy is going to have a baby or not," I explained.
"Is mummy gonna have a baby?" A smile grew on her face.
"Yes, Kaely, mummy is having a baby. Just don't tell da-" I began, but she ran out of the bathroom and started yelling for Ashton.
"Daddy! Daddy!" She yelled, running down the steps. I ran down after her.
Ashton came over to her and asked her what she wanted. She smiled and began to say, "mummy's going to have a ba-"
I put my hand over her mouth once I caught up to her. Ashton looked up at me and smirked before looking back down at Kaely.
"What did you say?"
"Murmmy s gurin tu hev a burbi," she tried to speak through my hand. Ashton looked back up.
"Are you?" He asked. He must've been able to understand her.
"I am," I smiled, showing him the test.
"How far along are you?" He asked.
"I don't know. We could go to the doctors to see."
"Yeah," he smiled.
"How about we call my parents and ask them to keep Kaely for just a little bit?" I suggested. Ashton nodded.
------
"If you would want to know the gender now, I could take some blood and we could soon find out from that," the nurse told us, and we looked at each other. We both nodded.
After she took blood, she left and told us it would be a little while. After waiting about thirty minutes, we were getting tired of sitting in there.
"So.. You're about seven weeks," he looked at me and grabbed my hand.
"Yeah," I just couldn't believe it. Ashton was really happy, and so was I.
"I think this is the right time to tell you that I've been looking for places for us, since we're starting a family," he wouldn't stop smiling, no matter what. I loved how happy he was.
"Really?" I thought of how cute that was, and how he was smiling so much.
"I've actually found a place that I think you'd really like. Kaely will like it too. And I'll bet you baby Irwin will," he told me, getting really happy when he said baby Irwin.
"And when were you going to tell me about this?" I asked, jokingly.
"Sometime soon," he answered, "but we could drive past it so I can show you where it is and what it looks like."
"When?"
"After we leave here and before we go to your parents' to pick Kaely up," he shrugged.
"Okay," I agreed.
After another while, closer to thirty minutes, the nurse came back and told us, "you're having.. a girl!"
Ashton and I both smiled at each other. I placed my hands on my stomach, and Ashton pecked my lips.
"Congratulations!" The nurse smiled, and we gave her a "thank you" before leaving the room and going back out of the hospital to our car.
After leaving the hospital, we drove to the house Ashton was interested in. I really did like the house, though. It was pretty big and in a really nice area. Ashton got out of the car and walked up to the house.
"Ashton! What are you doing!" I scolded. He walked onto the porch, and I followed him.
"I'm showing you the inside," he told me.
"No! You can't do that! Plus the door is locked," I turned the handle. He put a key in and turned it, then opened the door.
"Now it's not," he smirked.
"How did you get a key?" I was surprised. He walked into the house. It was beautiful already, and I had only seen the foyer.
He got quiet, "because this house is ours now."
"What?" I looked at him.
"I knew you'd like it, and I knew that we were going to be adding to the family," he smiled.
"What do you mean you knew?"
"I mean that I knew we were going to soon," he specified.
"So this is our house now?"
"Yeah."
"When did you come and look at it or, uh, do the closing on it and all of that stuff? And where did you find the money? Did you use our savings?"
"No. I used the money that I got from the tour. It was a lot, you know. We can get a really nice nursery for baby Irwin," he smiled when he said that, "and get Kaely a really nice room too, plus a play room, a big one. I know what room would be perfect for a playroom!"
He made the "come here" motion with his finger and took me to the room he said would be great for a playroom. I nodded, agreeing that she would love that.
"And this.." We made our way upstairs, "this could be our room, then baby Irwin's room, then Kaely's room."
"There are so many rooms.." I looked around.
"Yeah, there are five bedrooms, then two bathrooms and a closet. One of the bathrooms is in what our room will be. Look in here! This room, our room, has a balcony out here.. It's beautiful," he smiled and took me out there, looking at the view.
"Also, if you go over here.." he pointed, then we walked over to where he was pointing.
"This is a living room, upstairs," we walked in. It was huge. It had a fireplace too. Wow.
"Also, this room," we went into a different room, "this can be your workroom. You can come in here and paint or draw or do anything."
"Oh my god.." I smiled, "it has one of these chairs! And that rug is so cool! The house came like this?" (A/N: I will be adding pictures to each chapter, showing you what the house looks like.)
"I had them bring some stuff in. I knew you'd like the chair and that rug. There's some other stuff downstairs."
"Who is 'them'?" I asked.
"The boys, plus the guy that lived in the house."
"Okay."
Ashton kept on moving. He pulled me downstairs again and showed me the beautiful dining room and kitchen. We moved on to the amazing living room, a downstairs one.
"And you can go upstairs from here," he showed me. There were steps out of the living room to upstairs.
"There are two more bedrooms down here, along with another bathroom. Then we can have the playroom in here, but then here, it's like, a lounge. But come downstairs into the basement," Ashton pulled me down the stairs. I saw a couch and a drum set, Ashton's drum set from his old basement.
"We've already divided this in two by the curtain, but look," Ashton showed me the other side. He had lots of pillows over there and told me we'd put a tv down here, so it would be like another little lounge.
"I love it, Ashton," I smiled, plopping down on the big pillows.
"There's still one more thing," he told me.
"Show me it in a little bit. For now, just sit down," I patted the pillows beside me.
"What do you want to talk about?"
"What should we name baby Irwin?"
