Description: A story about a girl who is killed at sea, reborn she searches for vengeance and a life she was cheated from.

I'm back in action baby. It's been a while because I was busy and occupied, but I'm here now! So this definitely was an interesting read. When I was first reading the book, I almost had no clue has to what the heck was going on but then I slowed down. Let just say that this a book you can't rush or else you'll miss a lot of information that is crucial to understand the story. Sitting at 575 reads and 167 stars, I believe it's time to show how incredibly over looked the book is and I just want to support. Ok enough talk, let's get into the story that rests in the sea.

1. Writing Style✍

There is no doubt that the writing style is absolutely phenomenal. It reveals so much about the character's emotions and it's just so nice to read. There really isn't a better a way to describe the writing style, it's perfect. There is nothing else. Just perfect.

"Stepping out of the carriage, I felt the wind and tightened my overcoat. The cool breeze from the ocean mixed with and chilled me to the bone. The smell of fish and salt was overwhelming. I opened my mouth away behind me, I opened my mouth to breath, trying to spare my nose the pain."
(Chapter One)

"Thundering up the stairs, I entered what felt like hell itself."
(Chapter Two)

"My body seemed to be rebelling. The adrenaline from earlier was wearing off and I was getting more and more tired. Slowly, even the warmth from my head was escaping."
(Chapter Two)

"When I was younger, I had tried to learn all that I could, convinced I could do anything. As I grew older, I realized the world wouldn't allow that. No matter how much I studied or how much determination I had, it wasn't enough. I couldn't control anything in my life and this was the just the last decision someone else had made for me."
(Chapter Three)

Just perfect.

2. Plot📖

I really liked the plot. A girl is forced to come with these pirates and later in the book she ends up killing them but as far as we know, only one survive along with a little boy. The two get stuck on an island and make things work there. Yes, you could argue that the fact that the ship got flooded and they ended up on a random island was cliche, but the plot gets deeper than that as you read and it's refreshing to such a plot that really took thought.

3. Characters🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

So when I was the reading the first ten chapters, I couldn't help but notice how the main female protagonist wasn't afraid to fight back. Also I love how one of the crew mates isn't the disgusting person that we thought him to be. He actually had a pretty tragic backstory and it's lovely to these charming characters.

4. Environmental and Character Descriptions🏞👁

This is another area where the book shines. My only problem was that the descriptions weren't always specific, not that they have to but I don't believe we got to know what the main female character looked like. However, the descriptions were specific enough to create a picture for the reader.

"Crow's feet circled his eyes and pale skin gave him a sickly appearance."
(Chapter One)

"I could see an old man with flyaway white hair in an old, tattered captain uniform."
(Chapter One)

"The sails were tattered and in desperate need for repair. The sickly yellow slim that coated them covered the entire ship."
(Chapter One)

"His beady little eyes made him look like a rat and the whiskers around his lips helped."
(Chapter Two)

5. Originality💡

The story is very original in my opinion. I really couldn't compare it to anything else I've read because of how much thought went into it. The plot especially.

6. Overall Tone🎭

The book has tones of pity, suspense, and even slight humor with its descriptions. It fits the book well as more gets revealed about the characters and the ocean.

With that out the way, let's get to the rating that lies beneath the sea.

Rating Score: 👑

Yes, the golden crown. This is the first book to ever reach this ranking. This book isn't perfect of course but the upsides just overwhelm the downsides. Yes, there were slight errors but nothing to take seriously.

The book is incredibly underrated and I would love to see it get more attention. That's it for this review, I'll see you all in the next one!
