Three Options

I offer three types of feedback: Review, Critique, and Line by Line. Each has a different payment. Please review the guidelines for each and choose one using the form near the bottom. (Use the comments to request, please do not PM me.)

Work I Accept

I will read and offer feedback on any type of original fiction, but I specialize in fantasy, scifi, and dystopian.

I'm also fine with most fanfiction, but I may turn you down if I'm too unfamiliar with the source material.

I will not work with nonfiction. I will not work with real life/celeb fanfiction.

Reviews

A review is written similarly to a traditional book review on the chapters I read. I'll give a brief summary and then my thoughts and feelings as a reader.

• I will review up to 3 chapters or 5000 words, whichever comes first.

• If you want something other than the first 3 chapters/5000 words reviewed, tell me which one(s) and give me a brief summary of each chapter that comes before.

• Payment: Read and comment on another review within this book. This ensures you know what to expect from my review style. (Bonus, it gives other authors exposure.)

Critiques

A critique is more in-depth. I will look at several aspects of your writing separately, rate each one, and provide feedback to explain the rating.

• I will critique up to 3 chapters or 5000 words, whichever comes first.

• If you want something other than the first 3 chapters/5000 words critiqued, tell me which one(s) and give me a brief summary of each chapter that comes before.

• Payment: Two things. Read and comment on another critique within this book. This ensures you know what to expect from my critique style. (Bonus, it gives other authors exposure.) AND read and offer 3+ sentences of honest feedback on one of my other stories.

Line by Lines

A line by line critique is quite in-depth. I will save your work in a Google Doc and add comments/edits under any paragraphs that I believe need work. I will share this doc with you via PM when I am finished, and I will post a review for you in this book.

• I will critique up to 3 chapters or 4000 words, whichever comes first.

• If you want something other than the first 3 chapters/4000 words critiqued, tell me which one(s) and give me a brief summary of each chapter that comes before.

• Payment: Two things. Follow me AND read two chapters of my other work, leaving 3+ sentences of honest feedback in a comment on each.

Other Notes

When I accept your request, I will give you a rough time frame in which to expect a reply. Currently turnover time is running at around a week.

When I complete your feedback, I will post it as a chapter to this book and dedicate the chapter to you. If I liked your work, I may comment and/or vote directly on it as well. If I really liked your work, I will add it to my 'Pleasant Surprise' reading list.
