Interview with Inilash Remot the author of All the Lost Souls.

Greetings Inilash, Hope you are doing good.

Tell me about yourself dr

About myself.. Well I love to write and sing. I'm more passionate about composing and writing songs but it's easier to get your poems published than getting your music out there. I have a YouTube channel. I am currently studying psychology at Amity university and I love the subject. I actually love to study. My favourite writer is Stephen King, I worship him. I'm in the 2nd year of my undergraduate course.

I love animals. Other writers I love are taslima nasreen, Arthur Conan Doyle, I can't remember more names at the moment. I love to swim.

I love to wander, go for spontaneous plans and meet new people. I love hanging out with my close friends. They're like family to me.

And my parents are also very sweet. I admire them. I have one big brother. He's in Mysore right now.

One of the recent songs I've uploaded. I don't do any covers.. All these songs are my original work. I'm currently remaking most of these videos with better quality mics and proper music videos.

How's your college going on?

Amazing. We get a lot of work as amity has a very hectic program curriculum. But we all manage. I find it useful, it will be helpful in future if we get used to working for long hours

How come you developed interest for psychology?

I'm very interested in the matters of the mind. I believe that the entire world is a mere product of mind. If we can somehow unlock these powers which are inside our brains, no problem will be unsolvable. Whether it is poverty, disease, hatred,war or anything. The brain is the seat of intelligence, intellect and emotion. Psychology is the key to everything. I mean that's what I believe at least.

How did you develop interest in writing?

I've been writing since I was in class four. I don't know, it's just a part of me. Expression through words and songs. They've been my rock throughout all the tough times of my life.

Do you remember what you wrote first?

Haha yes I do. It was for my best friend.

I kept the pages from that copy. These are the first three poems I ever wrote. I never throw a sheet. It's something unreligious to my. Though I'm an atheist.

Who are your favourite author / poets?

Author is Stephen King. Poet is Robert Frost and Maya Angelou

Reasons for liking them?

Stephen King - He's just mind boggling. His work is thrilling, exciting, scary and unimaginable. My favourite book is Misery. His words are simple. His stories are a piece of art.

Robert Frost writes poems that touch your heart and I love the fact that he blends nature, time and emotions all together.

Maya Angelou is very daring and her poems are very inspiring. My fav poem by her is Phenomenal Woman

What are you other hobbies dr?

Except for singing and writing, I love to swim. I love to read books. I love to go out and explore the city. I like to participate in social work and I enjoy meeting new people. I love to paint and dance as well but I'm an amateur at them.

Tell us about your book dr

Well it's a series of poems I wrote at different stages of my life. Some are well themed and some are a little vague. They all end in a motivating line except for Everlasting Afternoon.

Is this your debut book?

Yes, my first.

How was your publishing journey?

It was satisfactory. I look forward to working with bluerose again.

So you are planning for your next book?

Yes. I'm gonna write a thriller.

How much time will it take?

That's indefinite. Could take a month, could take a year. You never know. I'm not exactly routine oriented

How supportive were your family during this publishing journey

They're supportive. My dad wanted me to get my work published.

My mom is happy to see the book.

In your book there are quite a many poems that are based on the concept of child abuse and the struggles of child. Any specific reason why you wrote on that?

I think things like child abuse and struggle is more common then people speak out. My poems do include the sufferings of many people I've known and seen, but they are certainly not about the struggle. They are about overcoming the struggle. A blunt statement of a refusal to give in to the negativities of life. Any pain can be turned into a gain where a positive mindset can be maintained.

Which is the best as well as a cherishing memory!

Well, when I was in class 6 I got my first synthesizer and I composed my first whole song. And I also love the memory of my 16th bday, my friends made a complete fool of me to surprise me... I found then hiding in my own apartment. It was very beautiful.

What do you wish to say to your readers dr?

Say the words on your mind, no one else is going to speak them. Live the dreams in your heart, no one else has ever seen them.

You're the only you. So be yourself and live your life, no one else can live it for you.

Your advice to budding writers?

Tune into your mind. Let everyone see your unique perspective
