REVIEW:

"The Signs" a book of enlightment and awakening is written by Fazl Illahi. Saleem, feels his life to be a messed one. He loses his interest in his job and becomes quite irritated with the happenings around him. He is able to visualize signs which he deciphers as an illness. His friend takes him to a long trip to the wulsar where they lose their way and end up in a mysterious hut with an attractive aura. They meet a mystic in the hut who enlightens them of the Signs of life.

A deeper vision of the past from him makes Saleem confused. After their first meet Saleem takes a wrong path by paying heed to his colleague while his best friend alters his way of living and walks in the right path. Saleem who ends up in the negative path, relaizes his misdoings only after a while and he tries to reverse those situation which created a huge negative impact on his colleague, who seeks revenge. When Saleem starts to walk the right path he faces many hurdles and he gets to pay for his misdeeds.

With the help of his inner voice, he choses the truth, peace and love and helps others too to ride their Wulsar in the right direction. In the end he gets his desires fulfilled and leads a content life with his wife.

Characterization – Each and every character's life, emotions are very well expressed and equal importance has been given to all the characters.

Narration & Writing Style – The author's writing style is splendid and his narration is impressive. Each scenario is penned in detail helping the readers perceive the story and the message the author conveys. The author has compared life with the vast sea and one's soul to the sailing Wulsar. One deeds and thought process are compared to the heart shaped roar of the boat. Throughout the story the author keeps us bound to it. Every message conveyed through Saleem enlightens us and helps us lead the right path in life though we face a lot of struggles. Initially readers may find it hard to grasp few messages which when read keenly would help the readers move on.
