"The Highlanders" by Dr.Dipak kumar is a novel based on the Mizo society which the author had written after meeting the people of Mizoram. This story is a english transition of the Assamese book Diktawn. In this book the author reflects the dreams, hope, aspiration and the many transition of the Mizo people through the characters of his story.

Writing Style (3.5/5) – Simple and perceptible.

Narration (3.5/5) – Reader friendly and uncomplicated. The chapters are organised well and the flow of the story is uninterrupted. Every situation is described exceptionally well. The description of the scenarios are beautiful in a way that makes the readers travel with the characters easily. Each and every character is well developed and there is an equal balance of description and dialogues. Through his words the author takes the readers to the village of Mizoram. Readers will be able to feel and live each and every moment in the story.

The author has done an exceptionally good job in bringing out this book.
