Interview with Shilpa, the author of "Rich but still poor"

Can you tell us about yourself?

I have always been a happy go lucky and positive person. I have always been an independent woman and self driven. I push myself to accomplish anything I put my heart into even if I'm scared to do it at first. When I love, I love with all my heart and always stand by my close ones when they need help.

When did you first start writing?

I have always had interest in writing since I was in school. I would write short stories during my free time, but I just recently ventured into the publishing world and decided to share one of my story with the world.

Do you remember what you wrote first?

Yes, I do. I was in school.

If yes, can you kindly share with us?

I wrote about my travel experiences whether it was school trip or family holiday. I have always been fond of travel since I was a kid.

How did you get the interest in writing?

I have always been drawn toward anything that requires creative thinking be it art, drawing, painting, writing or food. I'm always explore near areas of creativity and learning new skills since I can remember.

Who are your favourite authors? Why?s

One of my favourite author is Harkisan Mehta. I love his style of writing and how he keep his reader engaged. Along with that I even loved reading some spiritual books.

Tell us about your book mam.

What is the purpose of writing on this concept?

The purpose of writing this story was to motivate and inspire others to be strong and believe in themselves. Stand by what they believe in and fight through any tough situation they might face.

Is it a total fiction or inspired from true story?

It is inspired from true story.

Who has been your inspiration?

Me, myself. Over the years I have learnt to believe in myself and learnt that only I have motivate myself more than anyone else can.

What are your views on religion and society, gender inequality and male dominance?

Religion - I believe there is only one god and treating every human equal.

Society - We live in a society where double standard is still existence. I hope for a society that would stand by each other rather than bring each other down.

Gender Inequality - I believe each person should be treated as a human rather than male or female.

Male Dominance - I think we are at a point where female are now being heard and have a strong presence than male.

How should a story be, according to you?

A story should be able to captivate and engage a reader.

Do you write poems too?

No, but someday I would love to venture into that creative side.

How do you feel when you write?

I love writing, when I'm writing I feel like I'm in a whole new world; a new person.

What are your other hobbies?

Painting, crafts, art and writing.

How was your publishing journey with blue rose publishers?

My journey with Blue Rose Publisher has been a good. I have learnt through a lot through this journey and glad to have Blue Rose Publisher guiding me through this.

When can we expect your next book?

Currently I'm taking a break to enjoy my time with my family. So hopefully next year.

The only published work I have so far is this book "Rich but still poor". But someday I would publish short stories on my social media page.

It's not easy but take the leap of faith and do what you love to do. The end result is very fulfilling. Failure only makes you stronger to fight harder the next time.
