Dolly an avid writer and a charming personality reveals more about herself and her little friend Gurz in this short interview. Read below to know more...

Can you tell us about yourself Dolly?

I did my schooling in Mumbai and Baroda, graduated with BCom honours, did my Masters in Social Work from Nirmala Niketan Mumbai. Worked as a research associate with The Child Development in Baroda . Have also worked as a Counselllor in school and volunteered as a volunteer coaching students in a school in Dharavi, Mumbai. I have trained as a yoga teacher and taught the same for a few years

I love to read, travel and cook. At present I am discovering so much about myself and loving every moment of it . I find a tremendous sense of freedom by just being me...

How did you get interested in writing?

I used to write poems in school and college. I guess there has been this need of inner expression with me. Somehow I stopped writing in between... getting caught up with routines

Then when did you start writing absolutely?

After my husband's demise in 2012 I was desperately looking for answers. In a mystical way I started communicating with him through an astral traveller and those conversations are published in my first book 'It Is The Way It Is' wherein my husband introduced me to a fairy in his realm. Thereafter in 2014 I started conversing with Gurz, a fairy's spirit. I started writing my second book ABSOLUTELY in 2017.

Is it really true?

Yes it is. Are you surprised or bewildered?

I'm quite Bewildered... I have always dreamt of fairies being true.. and now reading about a true such experience.. wow.. I'm speechless

Do fairies really exist?

Yes they do and so do we! They are nature beings

Why did you choose the title absolutely?

Gurz the fairy often uses the word absolutely. This word defines the fairies as a species who are so singular minded and so pure, so complete , so unconditional. They don't harbour dualities as we do. When you go through the entire conversations, you will understand it. Gurz absolutely recognises who he is, who they are. So absolutely signifies unquestionable, perfect, it defines who Gurz is.

Can you tell us about your first book mam?

'It Is The Way It Is' is a conversation between me and my late husband. He as a spirit gives his perspective on us as a species. In reality we are all spirits inhabiting a human form. But we tend to ignore or forget this part of our being. So when we recognise our spirit part or when we acknowledge who we truly are, we begin to exist from that core of our being. Then we find a shift in our understandings, layers of inculcated patterns begin to drop off. We experience a sense of freedom, a sense of unlimited ness. We begin to exist the way we deem fit and not from external understandings. As we become aware of who we are, we tap into the beautiful part of who we really are, accessing the wisdom already embedded in us.

Who's your favorite author?

I don't have a favourite author as such but have read many great books.... love reading Eckhart Tolle, Autibiography of a Yogi, Tuesdays with Morrie, The Secret Life of Bees. So anything I find inspiring I read.

Is dolly your pen name?

No it's my real name

Who has been your inspiration?

I get inspired by people who exist in my life.... from a young niece to my Dad or even the helpers at home. There's so much to learn from each of them... I find them truly inspiring.

Is there any interesting incident you have experienced in your life? Apart from Gurz

Gurz has been my most transformative experience. However there also have been other interesting incidents. And I believe these little incidents have added to who I am today

How was your publishing experience with blue rose publishers?

Absolutely great. Blue Rose understood my needs at every stage and all my queries were answered with patience. The entire team has been very supportive and so approachable. They have done an excellent job and these are the feedback's with all those who have bought the book.

Do you write poetries too?

Used to.... once. I have unfortunately misplaced the entire collection when we were shifting to our new Home But two poems that won me a prize was A Rooted Existence and A Tale Of Two Cities I know they are somewhere.

What are your hobbies dolly?

Seeing different paces and gaining insight into different cultures, cooking(find it so relaxing), and walking. Yes.... I love walking. Maybe I have carried this nomadic trait from my past incarnation

How do you feel when you write?

I feel a release when I write. As in an outlet for my expressions and I reckon that writing these two books is as vital as the need to eat, or to breathe.

Well I have to search for those poems It was such a long time ago and I wrote them just on the spur of the moment I truly wish I could have been more serious.

What do you wish to say to your readers?

I wish that many more allow themselves to experience the reality that I have. Allow life to surprise you. Let's go beyond our confined, monotonous routines and look at a reality that is larger than ourselves. Let's bring back our naturality... that is our basic nature. That is the nature of who we are... a spirit in a human form.

Go... have a blast with your creative expressions. Sing your own songs.... write your own stories.
