AUTHOR INTERVIEW
Ashish Kumar, is the author of the novel "The Ruiner" which is based on Hindu mythology. Ashish is a hard working and a very passionate person. Let us hear what Ashish has to tell us..
Hello Ashish, hope you had a wonderful day.
1. To begin with, can you tell us about yourself?
I was born in 80's in a middleclass family of small city Haridwar. The combination of middle class family, aura of religious city and born in 80's made me culture oriented who loves our roots and enjoys life at every moment without any desire.
I have done B.tech. in IT than C-dac, but my interest was science from my childhood and Hindu mythology. O! that flow in breath. In one line about me I can say 'Himalaya is in my blood and Ganga is in bones'
Brilliant
2. When did you start writing?
Well when I was in school that time there was no internet and television. There was only DD channel. So I was lucky that from childhood I loved to read magazines and comics. One day I started to create a comic with pencil in which my brother and I have written story and my sister drew the pictures for comics. After that, I started writing poems etc.
3. How did you develop interest in writing?
After completing my B.tech and C-DAC I moved to pune in search of a job in IT field. I didn't get any job till six months. I went from company to company to submit my CV. Didn't care for myself or my health. That time I realized that life is tuff outside our comfort zone. It was in the year 2006 when I started writing English songs and started my blog. In 2007 I also joined an advertising agency in Pune as a creative writer parallel to my IT job.
That's lovely.
4. Do you remember your first writing?
Yes, it was a song with title 'In Country graveyard'
5. What are your other hobbies?
It's complicated. I have opened a coffee shop at borivali Mumbai in 2009. I know the recipe of more than 90 types of coffees and 400 types of drinks. I love to do experiments with cooking. Once I cooked black current poori and lemongrass panner other time chocolate rice and so on. Name of some of my drinks are traffic Jam, Mogli, Orange Rain, Lady Cheeks, sweet road etc ......
Sounds tasty.
I love to travel
I have immense interest in science. In December 2015 my research paper with title 'Theory of Anything : Sankhya Philosophy' was published in 'International Journal of Scientific & Engineering Research' in which I have tried to solve unsolved problems of quantum physics and general science by old Hindu philosophy 'Sankhya' .
My Last book 'Detail Geography of space' was expansion of my published paper.
I also love to do and teach meditation and many more.
Wow... Interesting
6. How did you get interested in Hindu mythology?
As I already told that I was born in middle class family of religious town. So from my childhood I was brought up with the stories of Lord Rama, Krishna, Hanuman, Goddess etc. stories of all these Lord has given me strength and a firm belief that life is not to enjoy but to give enjoyment in life of others. In last question you asked me about my hobbies and I have told many things but in reality my only hobby is to rediscover Hinduism and make available the knowledge of Hinduism for different domain of people to world this world better place.
Good Luck sir.
7. Can you tell us more about this book "The Ruiner"?
These days Hinduism is divided in three categories :
First: people who do all bad things and then donate money in temple etc.
Second: people who still do prayer and all rituals of Hinduism as described in our scriptures and do believe that god will do all thing right for them and for world but don't know how?
Third: next generation of above two category people who are confused and think all prayer.
"The Ruiner " is a book which will change the thinking of all three category people forever.
For first category of people, law of karmas are explained with mythological stories, current era scenarios and also scientific ways.
For second category people, whose belief is doing see-saw motion between yes and no that when god will come to help them? For these people stories of Ramayana, Mahabharata etc are explained in such a way that they also have to be a part of change for himself/herself with will of superpower.
For third category people, science was explained behind all mysteries, rituals, festivals etc which will change the thinking of these people forever. Even scientist will get something in this book to do research over.
Wonderful sir. Great thinking.
8. What made you write this book?
Almost 12 years back when I started reading Hindu Upanishads. I lost my consciousness to see what a knowledge they contain. All the science ever discovered and yet to discover are explained in our Upanishads in such a great way. Whenever I see today's condition of Hinduism I started cry. Almost 3 years back I have decided that I will change the thinking of people about Hinduism and make them realize that Hinduism is not based on superstitions but all philosophies, science etc are small part of Hinduism.
9. Can I know the reason behind the title?
Well I think better you read book and analysis the main character over which this title is based and decide if the title justifies the book or not.
10. Is this your debut book?
I have already published three books (all are of totally different realm), which are 'Love Incomplete' (in English) - A failed love story, 'Kya Hai Hindustan Mai' (in Hindi) - comprises of two parts. First part - Kya Hai Hindustan Mein talks about my experiences that i have observed while on the road, during travel and in day to day activities of the life in India. Part two - 'Pehle aur Ab' talks about the differences that are significant in the life of 1980's and now and third is 'Detail Geography of space' (in English). In 'Detail Geography of space' i have tried to present an unify theory of anything, from which we can solve all the unsolved problems of universe including physics, chemistry biology, quantum theory etc. means i have tried to show how universe works from macro to micro level and how from one theory we can prove other aspects of universe, because all the elements of universe works on very same pattern. I have already sent copy of my third book 'Detail Geography of space' to greatest scientist of our generation 'Stephen Hawking' for review and waiting for response.
Well done sir.
11. So, here in this book, you have written as if the scenes are happening in the future. Is there any reason for that?
As I already told I want to introduce actual essence of Hinduism to current generation people. So I have taken characters of teen age and near future time.
12. Which part of the Hindu mythology fascinated you?
I love whole Hindu mythology but Ramayana is my life. I can write only on Ramayana in my rest reaming life.
13. Who is your inspiration?
My parents.
14. Who is your favourite author?
Robert e svoboda
15. Why is it you liked him, while there are numerous writers out there?
He was not an Indian or Hindu but the knowledge he has in all domains of Hinduism that is great. He has more knowledge of Ayurveda, Vastu, Astrology, Tantrism etc from many good Hindu writers as well as people who say themselves perfect Hindu.
16. Which book is close to your heart?
All the books that has given me inspiration to write my last two books.
17. Do you prefer fiction or nonfiction?
Both. It depends upon which specific book starts changing your way of thinking in any sense.
18. Your advice to budding writers?
My last two books are result of 12 years of my sleepless nights. I have slept very less for some part my life to get knowledge, done meditation in cremation ground in night, not watched TV in last 6 years and done many scarifies. I just want to say dedicate your life to your content and when you feel you are about to die and nothing is left to explore on your subject that give shape of book to your passion not before.
That's really an inspiring piece of advice. And hats off to your hard works sir.
19. What do you wish to say to your readers?
These days people do jokes even over God without knowing what is God? for example the electricity is power or shakti or form of goddess. Whole evolution of universe are nothing but forms of goddess. You can read all this in my book. I just want to know better be natural if you don't know about that thing.
Read something, which bring you close to truth not comfort.
20. Where can readers get in touch with you?
